I tried the AV cable approach that you mention near the end of your video. This did not seem to make any difference in bringing a picture to the screen. I cannot screw it into my VHS player because I only have 1 coax cable available for the back of my television.
Greetings IntellivisionDude, I'm hoping you can assist me in this frustrating hour. I'm trying to setup my Intellivision II to the Sharp TV that I own. I added the F Type converter onto the RF plug and upon after screwing it into the back of my television, the Intellivision II provided no picture, nor did it provide any sound. I had the Shark Shark cartridge already inside of the Intellivision II. Is there an alternate route I can take?
I don't know if i can help too much. first thing is to make sure your games are clean and the cartridge port as well. There are many methods but Q-tips and rubbing alcohol for cleaning the game contacts. For the cartridge port maybe an old toothbrush and rubbing alcohol or even a piece of cardboard, or put rubbing alcohol on the game contacts and put it in the system a bunch of times before it dries. If that don't work it could be as issue with the system itself and that is beyond my expertise.
@@IntellivisionDudeGaming, Thank you for your reply, I have tried cleaning one cartridge so far. In the meantime, I had this theoretical idea come to mind and I was wondering if it would work in establishing a picture on my TV from the Intellivision II. My idea is taking the one yellow plug, plugging it into the back of the Intellivision II, then taking the other yellow plug, and instead of adding the coax tip to it, plug the yellow plug into the output section of the VCR (where the plug would go if you're looking to establish a picture on the screen from the VCR).
Thanks, I bought what I needed from Radio Shack a few years ago to hook up an Atari 2600, but lost it. I couldn't remember what it was called! This was really helpful.
Woo hoo, back to the retro gaming stuff :o) Thank goodness I live in the UK where we don't need converters as our tvs still have the rca jack in them along with loads of others :o)
Since I havent bought a "retro game only CRT TV" yet I only have my main 4K HDR LED, problem is no coaxial input anywhere, nor on either of my big audiophile grade Marantz SR8002 or SR5010 receivers....so my question is, is there anyway I can turn the output signal into SPDIF, composite, or any other newer input, or is it impossible because they don't sell any analog-digital converters for something like this. Basically I just want to hook my Intellivision to my new TV and surround sound system, but nowhere is there any coaxial input. I do have that Female RCA/coaxial piece you show in the video, but I think Im screwed until I buy an older spare TV.
I bought me a used ColecoVision on youtube and a Phonoplug. I attached it to the cable knob in the back of an old TV, but the picture turned out glitchy. Could it have something to do with the plug attached to the cable knob?
@intelevisiondude I just bought an intelevision and it comes in black and white on my 1995 CRT but on my 2005 CRT it comes in fine any suggestions on why it's coming in black and white my other consoles come in color on that tv but my intellivision
I know this video is old but I'm hoping someone can help. I got the video working on my HDTV with the adapter. The picture is good, not upscaled obviously but decent. However, the audio is not working. I just hear faint blips and distorted noises instead of what it should be. Would connecting to a VCR instead of to the back of my TV fix this you think? If anyone has any idea, please let me know! Many thanks!!
There is a link in the description to buy one from Atariage, but here is a link to Amazon www.amazon.com/Ancable-2-Pack-F-Type-Adapter-Commodore/dp/B06XSL31B3/ref=sr_1_20?ie=UTF8&qid=1542768153&sr=8-20&keywords=direct+connect+adapter+rf
@jescis0 I'm afraid i'm no expert on this. First thing i would do is make sure the games are clean. Clean the contacts with rubbing alcohol and a Q-tip. If they still don't work try not inserting the games fully. Like after you insert them pull them out less then an inch on one side or the other. Carts can be tricky. It also could be dirty contacts on the system itself. And if it's none of those then it's either your system or the way it's hooked up, and that's out of my department.
Nice how to man. I would also say you could just daisy chain the RF adapters from most consoles but you end up with a rats nest of wire like I have. lol
@IntellivisionDude I would feel bad if it didnt work, It hasn't been tested like I said. I have been seing alot around here so maybe you ill find one locally at a cheap price.
Hey I hope you are still here. dude I'm so lost. Everybody died but I got myself an intellivision set... And I have a flat screen high definition Smart TV. I had an old VCR but like an asshole I threw it out. And I don't know what to do to get it to work I found it all the black and white TV in the attic and I plugged this stuff in and I could see the game on the screen but it you know I couldn't get the horizontal to stop and it's black and white anyway so what's the point so that TV's going to go out to the curb but if you know how I can get my system to work on this smart TV please let me know. Thank you in advance.
I hear new tv's are finicky. And i'm no expert. But the only thing i know you can try is to make sure the Intellivision is powered on, then go into the tv settings and do a channel search. It needs to be powered on so the tv can detect it. You didn't mention how you are connecting it. Do you have one of these? www.amazon.com/VCE-Adapter-Connector-Coaxial-Commodore/dp/B08BYD8GV4/ref=sr_1_4?crid=32B374IHUXA0L
I don't know what kind of plugs are on the back of a smart tv. I don't own one unfortunately. The only other options could be a RF to RCA convertor (but i have never used one so i don't know if they work well) or find someone who does console mods. There are people who dooes composite or maybe even HDMI mods. Or just find a used vcr. I still use the vcr method.
Just so you know:
13 years onward and you're still helping someone hook up their Intellivision II. 😊
those adapter are a work of art ...who ever crated these adapters there a freaking genius ..lol cool dudeXD

Can you upload a video "How to hook up Intellivision to the TV"? Because there's no video about hooking up Intellivision to the TV on UA-cam.

Wow, I never knew that about the yellow cable on the composite A/V cables but now it seems so obvious.

@SkoogGaming Ya, the only thing that kind of interests me is the Sega CD. But i don't really have anything to trade. And i'm so broke right now.
I need atari 7200 help, I have a power cord but I need some kind of tv cord.
Do they make AV cables for it?

@SkoogGaming Do you mean 7800? The cords i showed in the video will work.

@SkoogGaming If it's any help i added a couple links in the description of this video just now for a store that sells both parts that you need.
Helped a lot
@RetroGamerINTV Yes they are. :-)
