As a magician myself, there's always that moment when I see your magic that in the very beginning I say to myself 'Oh, it's going to be THAT trick.' but you then introduce that ONE impossible factor that completely and utterly STUMPS me!! EVERY TIME!! Awesome work!
As far as my knowledge is concerned, this trick was originally created by another Canadian, Mr Jay Sanki and later adopted by David Copperfield once. Loved your version and the much convincing improvisation you went through.. Job well done as always , it's your job and it's your habit to blow minds. Cheers!
I remember when I saw this video for the first time. Didn't know how is that even possible. Now, one year later, I have figured out how it's done and I am once again amazed by this trick, but this time it is the idea what amazed me. Thanks for inspiration!
Dear Shawn, You have me OBSESSED! I was very into close up card magic in high school and it fell by the wayside but after seeing the effects you can accomplish, you re-invigorated my love for magic! Your RSVP was absolutely jaw dropping and the way you take garcia and white's effect to the next level is inspiring! I hope to see more of your art soon! Going to check out your website!
This is my reaction watching this video "Oh. That's a neat trick when the balloon wraps around the cards so it looks like they're in the balloon but I can't really see how anyone is fooled that they are actually inside the balloon.... oh wait... they ARE inside the balloon?" followed by me watching it over and over trying, and failing, to catch you actually turning the balloon inside out over the cards without breaking the nozzle so that you can still inflate it... how the card is revealed is the easy thing to figure out and if you know what to look for you can actually see that part being done. Nice combination of tricks for a great effect! =)
shawn, you are the best and my most favorite canadian! but remember, you cant fool me and on top of that youtube has the fortunate capability of slow motion replay! but thank you for the great tricks and entertainment.
saw you on "fool us" and man, out of all the performances that I've seen yours was the cleanest and most mind blowing. well done, you've got a sub and a like out of me.
I figured it out, but decided against posting it. Really clever combining of two effects into a trick greater than the sum of its parts. Bravo, Mr. Farquhar!
Your description about posting solutions is great and refreshing. Ive been a professional magician since before youtube and david blaine. When youtube first showed up, I knew magic was about to take a hit. And we predicted kids would be the down fall of close up secrets.
I have seen this done with face down cards on either side, the fact that he has a face up card in view of the spectator adds another element and is pretty amazing.
Latex is a magical tool for doing magic. I remember learning some great tricks with a latex square from a magic book when I was 12. Amazing work, Shawn!
@@sandhests That part wasn't cut, just great camera work. ;) There's nothing worse in videos like these than a camera showing how it's done. It's not an instructional video, so it does need to keep the secret for those who just want to be mystified and those who want to figure it out.
Already seen it approx. one year ago. Very good, combining pressure (DG) with slight of hand. Very good job! I like it really much. I still love your approach at magic. Thanks you for this.
Please respect my video channel and stop posting questions on the methods of my magic. If you don't I'll just block you from posting and seeing... Sincere thanks. How many balloons were used? I think I saw about a dozen!
shawn dont get salty because someone figured out your trick, if someone wanted to know they could just look it up either way so why does it matter if someone says how the trick is preformed
Very impressive Shawn, absolutely love your magic can't get enough of you haha. Much respect and now my favourite magician! Please come to Australia and perform here one day I would love to see your magic in person! Love the videos!
Shawn, another FANTASTIC trick... Though it seems to me that to call it a trick doesn't do it enough credit. Easy to see how you became the best in the world... And, a really amazing effect, thanks for sharing this!
Wow. Knowing a bit of card magic myself, this is one of the most amazing effects I've seen. Given my marginal understanding, the most incredible aspect here is just watching the deck actually enter the balloon's confines and shuffle around. I'm completely boggled. Good job!
Wow my goodness, you absolutely deserve the title of cleverest slight of hand magic person(sorry still need to work on the title) but for me and I think you understand penn and teller will always hold that spot for me but you are the closest second in history. You're amazing!
I thought this would be like pressure by Daniel Garcia but this is so much better. Mr. Farquhar you've outdone yourself once again. I really do admire your magic. Not just for your tricks, but for how much of an entertaining performer you are. I really do hope to see you perform in person one day. Best of luck
This is an amazing variation on pressure! I've used the pressure technique before, but didn't manage to make an effect like this with it... Really nice performance and cleverly found trick. Thx for the upload!
I thought he was doing pressure, but the cards were actually inside the balloon. I saw every other move from the pass on, but like most of Shawns tricks, you can't figure out the most important part. I love the way he always says "it's my job" He says that all the time.
+Shawn Farquhar for those who dont practice magic here s a partial explanation of the trick : - first of all when shawn is supposed to put the card back in the deck , he actually leaves the deck a little open at the card's position and retrieves it from behind so that it is not really clear fot the attendant. - Then when he says "i ve got some ballons" , he places the card in his pocket and takes out the ballons. - Finally when he asks the attendant to shuffle the cards in the balloon , he uses this moment to take the card back out and holds it in his hand while the attendant pops it . :) Sorry shawn and nice trick ;)

BIG fan of your magic from Ontario, Shawn. I believe I posted here a long time ago, but just watching this again as I am getting very busy in the Balloon Twisting business these days, (started magic in 77 & balloon twisting in 85), and looking for some great 'balloon magic' ideas to add. I've always loved the idea of cards or cell phone to balloon. I really wish you would offer a DVD on this effect, as I have NO idea how you are accomplishing this, nor do I care to try and guess or figure out. I just love watching the MAGIC happen. The only thing I do understand is how you do the 'reveal' of signed card at end. That's of course a standard move. Everything you release is a GEM.
Had a go at this - the result was a complete surprise - cards all over the floor and a balloon farting around the room... Thanks for the magic, Shawn. :)

One of my favourite tricks was Michael Ammar putting the phone into the balloon...like Shawn did with the cards here...but I know how he did it. The best bit about this was then blowing the balloon up again, and having the cards actually INSIDE the balloon. haha I love that :D and have no idea how he did it :P
I've never enjoyed Pressure. The effect doesn't work for me (i don't know why, must be something wrong with my brain) but you manage to resolve that with that second movement. I absolutely loved it! ;)
same thing here it turns out its all dependant on the balloon. You gotta get a balloon thats not super super strong and tight and something not cheap that tears. Try wallmart.
Lol best parts "its my job" Great trick Shawn gotta say i fell out of magic for awhile then started seeing some of your tricks here and got myself back into it. As for most of you asking how tricks are being done perhaps...now this is just a suggestion of course...But there are these magical things i know most people don't know anymore that are called books...Try to read some to see what the greats did and make it your own =). Cause i can tell ya he didn't figure out how to do this just by watching youtube. Perhaps you can make one that will even fool Shawn Farquhar himself....
Very clever and original trick, Shawn. I know exactly how you did it, every move. I love seeing fellow magicians come up with their own amazing stuff different from what most of the other guys are doing. Keep em coming!
I really enjoyed this piece of magic! I perform Garcias phone in balloon effect at the magic bar here in Milwaukee wi. I have some work on it an if you want I'd be happy to share my thoughts! As always keep it magical!

Saw every slight. Nice presentation though! Loved the "I-it's my job"
Milwaukee! Yeahhh
You're truly the best card master ever. WOW.
+Kevin Gabor Thanks, I'm not the best but I do try to do my best... ;-)
+Shawn Farquhar Shhhhhhhhh you do are the best man
What a lovely use of misdirection in this trick. I love when it is used properly to maximize an effect
After watching it a few times, i can see how he does it. Not going to say though, its a very fun trick :)
