I never heard of him before, someone is selling a Johnny A signature Gibson, beautiful guitar but I didn’t know who Johnny A was, that’s why I’m here. Amazing! Glad I found him!👏🔥🔥🔥
Man where you been all my life ! It is April 18 , 2022 and I heard you for the first time in my life just now . You are in a league and genre of your own . I will be listening to much more of you sir . Thank you !!
Totally awesome and tasteful player. I saw him once and Steve Vai and Dweezil Zappa were sitting at the table next to me and they were impressed as was I.
Folks, this is what a real musician looks like. He uses a looper but creates and plays all parts flawlessly. Saw him open up for Eric Johnson @ variety Playhouse years ago and was floored how good he is. Thanks for the excellent performance Johnny. Really love his original tune Oh Yeah..Classic straight ahead playing with off the charts tone
Great guitarist Johnny A. Lots of feeling as well. And very ahead of his time. Loopers in 1928. Great video quality also . Better preserved than Chaplin's movies

Oh hell yes. So glad I found you Johnny A.
Man, this is fantastic. I play Can't Find My Way home at least twice a day but I wish I could play it like this.

OMGAAAAAAWD!!! He’s a world-renowned, legit ROCKER and he covers a Beegees tune flawlessly!!!
Johnny is one of the best guitar slingers around! (past or present)
Agreed ! Johnny's tone is always spot on, his playing impeccable and he always comes up with really cool stuff. PEACE !
Love him. Total tonemaster. smooth and so cool
Most awesome indeed.. thank you for posting :)
Considering this was recorded in 1928 this has held up really well, Bravo Johnny !!!!
Those old wire recordings were really under-appreciated.
I think it is 2028 and this recording is in the future!
@@lonroyd It is in future, I just got back. Took me a while to find the 1.21 giga watts to fire up the flux capacitor.
@@lonroyd Yeah man. It is very post COVID . Post-blues. It is post everything
@@c.alejo8846 it definitely is post-my abilities on guitar coupled with tap dancing ;-D
so fantastic playing, thanks
Just wonderful.
Arguably… the greatest guitarist on the planet right now now. Saw him live a few years ago doing incredible versions of Beatles songs…
Quite wonderful - I just loved watching this
Under rated musician.
Very cool big time Johnny!!!
AMAZING!
Wow, Johnny A is world class guitar player! Great style and wonderful performance!
Totally awesome and tasteful player. I saw him once and Steve Vai and Dweezil Zappa were sitting at the table next to me and they were impressed as was I.
I was in front of him at a Steve Vai show at The Orpheum. He’s just as impressed with them as anyone. Great player.
Jeff Beck was known to go to his shows whenever he was on the east coast.@@walpolescrew
pure class! awe inspiring
Johnny is THE MAN!
Fantastic pkayer
This cat oozes cool, and a world class axe master...
"This cat oozes cool..."
So cool to see this! That's the table I usually record from as well. Speaker above for good sound to boot. Thanks for sharing.
It was definitely a great spot to film from. I also filmed Matt Andersen's set and will be uploading that one as well.

Wish Johnny would come back out way west again. TOUCH, TONE, TEXTURE

talento+bravura+professionalità=Johnny A
MONSTER!
aplausos!
Wow.
Man I'd love to have one of those with no bigsby
I bet you could have it modded with a trapeze tailpiece fairly easily.
They sometimes release a few with no Bigsby, I saw one on Sweetwater. You still have to cough up the cash though...
Awesome Piece J ☺☺😎👊💯💯
Does it get any better than this!!
🤞
I believe he was the guitarist in the J. Geils band.
Yes & most recently with the Yardbirds...
Anybody know what kind of guitar that is?
Mark VanStee Gibson Johnny a custom prototype
Johnny A signature from Gibson I reckon
I am twirling but this guy is using his toes and whirling circles around me.
Does that guitar have P90s?
Yes
You forgot the “Layla” at 5:30….!!!….
who needs speed for being expressive ?
So many people tape these shows-I'm sure there is a cleaner version on archive dot org
Good guitarist, probably great in a group but solo is less than I was expecting.
The Blind faith song is represented well, but the guitar style to me seems more like Alvyn Lee
