Nice Video, this is the Puppy I will get. I Love how Loving a Norwegian Elkhound Is compared to a German Shepherd. I may still get a German Shepherd but I will have to worry about getting it trained Immediately and no days off.

Thanks for posting this. I have a male 9 month old male Elkie named Rollo (Warrior off the show Vikings) and he's my first dog also. Love the guy. They are such great dogs and also to be off the leash and on the trail with, also by my side. If you don't have one I recommend getting a cordless mini vacuum for all the fur balls that you might encounter. Seeing that you are in Canada also do you mind me asking what food you are using with Thorin? I'm currently have Rollo on Acana brand but he seems to either be a bit picky with it so I might try another brand and it would be great to hear from another Elkhound owner. No other Elkhounds where I'm at. Thanks
Hi Ashley. Thank you for your feedback, glad you enjoyed the video. Rollo, what a cool name! Yes, it's fun to connect with other Elkhound owners, I don't see very many where I am either.. Thorin is eating "Country Harvest" Dog Food from Canadian Tire. It's affordable and he seems to be doing well with it. Even though he has been acting a bit picky lately, as if he doesn't like the food. But usually he ends up eating it anyway. My other dog, the Rhodesian Ridgeback likes it a lot! But if Thorin doesn't like the food, I would just let him skip the meal, then take him out for a walk and for dinner he'll be hungry and won't have problems eating it at all. Sometimes it's about ignoring their picky behaviors or else you'll be searching for the "perfect food" and they keep being picky. I think you are feeding Rollo good dog food, so just stick with it if his body and digestion is doing well with it.

He is so cute. Love how he has one ear flops and one not. I would love to get one of these dogs. Are they a lot to look after?
Thank you. Yes, I find so too. If you exercise him outside a little bit every day, he's good at staying out of trouble ;)
This is my first time having a Spitz breed and I think they can be stubborn sometimes, so they may need a bit of a stronger leader. I'm still learning, but I like the challenge.
FYI... It's NOT a lap dog.

that aint a purebred, some akita mixxed into it. The color gives it away. I have owned 6 elkhounds over last 30 years
