The Kiri (milk-white) Vehera (temple) is an ancient stupa (shrine) and is one of the most revered and popular temples in Sri Lanka. It is a sacred site for Buddhist pilgrims who travel to this region from all over the country and the world. This magnificent shrine stands at 95 ft. in height and has a circumference of 280 ft. The temple is 88 ft. at ground level, and is surrounded by four frontals at quarter points.
