Very happy that in the end I was wrong: ua-cam.com/video/fJCxrJFPVXw/v-deo.html
It wouldn't surprise me if iRacing turns their nose up at them for a bit before even entertaining the thought of making a game/agreement with them given how their relationship ended last December
There was an article published by Adam Stern of SBJ that said that Iracing is possible to get back into a deal with INDYCAR
iRacing has been practically begging for it back since the exclucivity deal went into effect.
@@GamersHolyArmy post the discussions between iracing and penske if that's the case, then
I really feel I've been far too kind in writing about Motorsport Games and Indycar in the past on community posts and my Twitter. This is the first time on this channel I've directly talked on video about anything related to what happened back in December 2022 with Indycar and iRacing. I guess the length of it is emblematic of this frustration; I wanted it shorter. The fact that someone high up in Indycar had ties to Motorsport Games and this may have influenced the decision making process by Indycar is insane. I hope that I am wrong about my pessimism based on the acrimonious relationship iRacing and Indycar had. I'm disappointed but not surprised that people took that as confirmation that iRacing and Indycar will be back and spread that as "news", but let's hope together it will return.
ngl i'd love more videos of you just talking about stuff, you're really good at making information easy to digest and telling a story while also keeping it grounded and not getting too speculative. keep up the good work broseph
Team I5G news the most trusted name in your local and international news. The jingle adds all the credibility
the OH NO sound effect is already enough for me to like this video, don't even need to watch.
I personally love IndyCar and want them to come back to iRacing. Although In my opinion if they try to come back. I think iRacing should say, nope get lost maybe come back in a year or two and we'll reconsider it.
You simply acknowledging the fact that you don’t want to reiterate shit that other creators have gone over because it’s repetitive is why I like you, these creators, not just in indycar/racing world, are commenting on what other and staying there opinion on other creators opinions. Keep it original, that’s what we want to here. You’re a good UA-camr, keep it up buddy!
[REDACTED]CAR NO MORE! NEW LICENSE DEAL!
Also, LOL they didn't fix the year on their press release
Australian law student here. If a contract is invalidly terminated, the party that incorrectly broke is liable for damages. MG would be looking at that option.
I love the fact you keep it real Brendan. Like you, I would love for the iRacing Indy 500 to come back next year, although I can see where it would be more likely in 25 or beyond. I think it is plausible that when Indycar signed the deal with Motorsport Games that the natural end of the then current agreement with iRacing was on 12/31/22 and with the deal with Motorsport Games and the particulars within the contract agreement, weren't able to to work a continuation of the deal with iRacing beyond that 12/31/22 date. I could always be completely wrong too. We all saw how messy the Indycar/iRacing divorce became and I do think it will take time to mend the relationship, but it is a relationship that is worth mending for both parties. IndyCar need a presence in the gaming scene and iRacing has been the one company to have proven over many years be willing and able to work alongside IndyCar and promote the brand in the gaming scene. Furthermore, I do think IndyCar would be looking to see how the iRacing NASCAR console game is received in 2025 with its launch to see if they want a piece of the console gaming pie.
A thing to remember: indycar drivers were very critical of the iracing product during the pandemic lock downs. Most notably was Joseph Newgarden, whom out right trash talked the entire product on one of his podcasts. The only driver that really supported iracing was Tony Kanaan.
As much as people would hate it, especially now that they are owned by EA, I'd like to see CodeMasters take the indycar license, they actually have done well in the past with F1.
I feel liek Indycar should do what Nascar is doing with iRacing, dev a stand alone game for the masses and come back to sim iracing
Honestly I was expecting Indycar to double down again given their uncanny talent to fuck up.
i'm kinda afraid they're not going to sign with iracing or anyone until they see if the nascar game is good.
loved the fire extinguisher for the dumpster fire that motorsport games is
Indy belongs on iracing...it's the only platform that can do it justice😊
What a joke and a waste of time an money this whole msg mess was. Glad its gone
I hope they will eventually come together again. I only got the chance to run 2 indy 500s both one of each fixed and open. And loved every race,
The only way i can see the console game happening is if they get the license back, and send the console development to monster games or something of the sort, maybe do a shared agreement with codemasters/ea again. Allowing iracing to use the name, and cars, and special events again. They already have the ir18, and the majority of the tracks on the calendar.
Well done video. The whole thing is a total clown show! 🤡🏎️💵 The word of the day is “schadenfreude”…

Open wheel racing and extreme multinational corruption; Name a more iconic duo.
Unfortunately „having ties in another company“ is completely normal in private companies and is a standard way for higher ups to grow their fortunes even more.

It’s encouraged to work together in those types of companies, it’s one of the reasons for those companies to exist and decide against going public.
They don’t need to care about ethics or insider trading laws.
It’s still the same behavior that wealthy families had during Americas period of growth between 1830 and 1970.
Since seeing all the videos from Austin Ogonoski about how the owners or someone at the top was a scam artist, I gave up hope so really any bad news now isn't a surprise
4:17 one of the most iconic jimmie commercials ever imo

For what NASCAR and indycar fans had to go to form Motorsports games im glad that Motorsports games are going out of business.
If iRacing gives them money, I'm sure they'll be able to have one.
Money always talks, but then this would put iRacing on the hook for producing that game on top of making the NASCAR game for 2025. Steve Myers indicated in an article on the Sports Business Journal that this could be difficult to do: www.sportsbusinessjournal.com/Articles/2023/11/17/iracing-indycar-video-game-future.aspx
For me it was amazing news MSG would have released a trash product would rather just never have a indycar sim if its just going to be garbage
Sucks for indy fans for sure. As a NASCAR fan, having basically no options has been annoying. I at least could over pay dramatically and play Iracing if I really wanted too, but now indy fans can't even really do that lol.
One would have to consider the pro's and con's for each company to weigh the potential for any agreement. Without knowing the financial structure of a potential agreement it's impossible to see the value for either company. Obviously Indycar didn't feel there was enough previous value because they gave Motorsport Games an exclusive agreement.
You focused on the 500 yet the real value should be in the weekly/seasonal participation. iRacing would probably rather have an agreement than not. Indycar hasn't shown any interest in promoting and or sponsoring any championship series within iRacing for years. When they did, it wasn't popular. An agreement wouldn't hurt either company, the question is do they think there's any benefit and what is that worth?
There's a lot more to unpack such as iRacing's relationship with Dallara, but it's too much to post here.
TLDR version:
For iRacing: Is the series popular? No. Is there potential for an official title sponsored championship series? Probably not.
For Indycar: Is the series popular? No.
I had never seen your face so close up
indycar should just be super omega power to the 5th chadstyle and just say no more games
I didn't hear the reasoning for joining in the first point which is crazy
There is no ethics in Capitalism these days lmao.
We live in a Cyberpunk Dystopia, without the Cyberpunk.
Also MSG doesn't have enough money for lawyers, seriously.
