Hey Sean! Long-time lurker, first time responder. You did a great job on this video. I am a Vision pilot. I bought mine new in 2014. I was not even in the market for this type of bike when I was shopping back then! I have put over 40,000 miles on this beautiful machine since and have not had a single problem. I was not even aware of the brand back then when I was shopping for bikes. I went down to the dealership to check out the new Indian Chieftain, which I was intrigued by when I heard about it but absolutely HATED when I actually saw it and rode it. Old lookin', cramped, the engine was nice but it signed off too early, just a real shit show. Couldn't get off the thing fast enough. Then the sales person offered to let me ride a Victory. Again, I knew nothing of the brand, but I said "sure, why not." What a revelation. I rode the Cross models, all of them, and they were all great. I was leaning towards the Cross Country when he said "I have one more for you to try". And there was the Vision. It was like nothing I had ever seen. And when my ass hit the seat, I knew this was the one. There is nothing else like this bike. This machine handles better than any big bike I have ever ridden before or since. And the comfort is unmatched. I am an every day rider, and this bike handles that duty flawlessly. I will never give this bike up! I'm gonna ride it "TILL THE WHEELS FALL OFF" !!
I own 2 Visions. I weigh 155 lbs and I'm 5'6" and it fits me , that's the beauty of the Vision. It fits such a wide range of riders. Agreed, it is arguably the greatest touring motorcycle ever made. I also own an Indian Roadmaster . While it is a good touring bike, it isn't a Vision.
Yes, you do have a nice collection. I'd like to have a road master as well. I just picked up a 14 vision. My first ride was 650 miles. Was pleasantly surprised at it's handling and cornering thru the canyons. I'm 5'9 and thinking of lowering 1". Not sure I can get it out of the seat. Have you lowered your vision?
Im about 195 and 5'11" and it fits me great too. Dont need to buy hwy pegs on this thing unless youre over 6' and thats iffy since its got more room than any other bike to begin with
Never met a Harley than could keep up with me in the high speed twists... There is nothing like the Vision out there. I see a Harley I pass a Harley. The Wing is close but isn't remotely close to comfort and style. Haters get to ride behind me (no choice of their own). Fantastic Bike...
I own a 2014 vision tour in orange that I bought new. Love my bike. I’m 6ft 2” and with a big belly(5xlt) and this bike was made for guys like me. Great video also
I have a friend who’s 6’3” and bought a Vision a few years back. He chose it after he and his wife test drove several bikes at Daytona bike week. She loved the pillion seat. It’s been his daily transportation since. He doesn’t own a car. Commuting, long weekend rides, cross country trips, the bike has performed flawlessly. Zero mechanical problems. The only issues he’s had are some of the plastic parts breaking. Overall it is a great bike.
This video convinced me to buy a vision. Wasn’t sure about them at first but I’ve now realized that the vision is my dream bike inside and out. So blessed to have found a low mileage 2009 in great condition for an unbeatable price. Thanks Sean!
I didn't know this video existed. It's great! Loved it. Love my Vision. These rock. So tempted to buy another it's that good. Performance, comfort, weather protection and very easy to maintain
A friend let me drive his Vision and it was truly amazing. Handles better than any bike I've driven. Only down side was the sloppy noisy straight cut geared transmission.
Love my 2016 VV. Walked by one on the showroom floor in 2009 and thought that’s the most beautiful mc I’ve seen. Wanted one since then, and real pleased I got one finally in 2016. I ride it interspersed in a small herd of Suzuki Burgmans. For my life, they just fit together.
I loved the Victory history lesson thank you 👍🏻. I once owned a judge but unfortunately I didn’t enjoy it and didn’t own it long. For the record I actually liked the look of the vision
I agree, I bought the 2020 Challenger, but it's not the Vision. Love the Vision Please enjoy (& let me know what you think) a short clip of my Ride: ua-cam.com/video/xjDvSmXT4Tk/v-deo.html
Excellently done! Having done video production in the past I realize how much of a time commitment it takes to put together something like this. Much appreciation!
Yes that’s what it’s like at Sturgis. Except sometimes you’ll walk out of your camper first thing in the morning to find the neighbors who slept in a horse trailer dragging a couch behind their atv and all 4 riders are naked. True story.
I come from sport bikes and the Vision was my first metric. I could never do a harley knowing what I know about bikes. It's just a waste of money. It's an awesome bike for sure.
Because of you Sean, I am about to buy a 2009 Victory Vision Tour, Arlen Ness series, with a 110 cu in upgrade. My wife is going to flip out when I tell her that Sean recommended that I add another motorcycle to the herd... Since I have a Goldwing 1500SE, Road King CVO 103 and a Softail Heritage Springer Evo motor, in the garage right now, you better hide your phone Sean, it is about to blow up with a "What the heck were you thinking Sean" type of comment from my wife. It might not be that nice, as she is a retired elementary teacher and you know that your ear is vulnerable to being pulled, while she drags you to the Principle's office!!!! She doesn't play well in the sandbox anymore since she is retired and has all that pent up years of ear pulling frustration.... Ohhhhh, you're in trouble now Sean!!!
I am not a brand guy owned a Vstar, Harley and currently own a Highball. I really wished Victory was able to stay in business. I can't see myself buying a Vision. Parts are expensive and hard to find. Love the series. Maybe if they didn't use gingers they would still be around.
Visions were bikes for guys who wanted to eat up alot of miles. It wasnt for fangirls who are more worried about how cool they look over how their buke performs, rides and handles.
Great video, as usual. I happen to own a Vision and it works well for me. I didn't like them at first but, man, I rode one and got hooked. Not something I jump on when making a run to the corner store, but on the open highway it does everything I need it to do.
I saw a Vision Tour once a couple of years ago. I thought the styling was interesting but just wasn't for me. I discovered the Vision 8 Ball today (online) and love it. It's slick, powerful and looks way better than the Road Glide knock off Polaris is making now.
Arlen Ness was in that design. I had a few Victories they were good bikes made good power. Overhead cam, 4 valve heads. Gear primary, belt secondary opposite side drive. Much better engineered than HD. I never rode ad Vision but l rode a cross country with same engine and it was fantastic. But from what lve heard the Vision was the best ride Victory had.
Nice vid you guys, really enjoyed it. I had one of the first Hammer's to hit the street. In fact, I bought it off the dealers incomming sheet at full pop and no test ride. Normally I would never do either of those things but I'll tell you what- I never regretted it. Now I ride a BMW K12r Sport so it's a whole different thing but I still think about my Hammer. Victory built good bikes with plenty of power and a low center of gravity making them very easy to ride. A sad but, I guess, inevitable end.
Great Video. Enjoyed watching. I honestly think it was ahead of it's time. My Wife & I rode one on a Demo but we were a lot more Comfortable on the Cross Country Tour that we rode after that's why we own a 2012 CCT. For Big Bikes they both handle excellent.
I bought a 2017 Victory Octane and it's a blast. The vision does look comfortable, especially on long rides. Would consider owning one if the price is right.
Awesome new series, guys. I look forward to more videos in the near future. I never heard of the Vision until now. That's a radical looking touring bike.
I absolutely love my Victory. That Victory concept @ 1:25 - 1:35 from 2001 is todays Indian fairing. That was enlightening. The Vision is arguably the best touring machine built at that time. Would have been interesting to see where it would have went. When I saw the latest iteration of the Gold Wing the first thing that I thought was Victory Vision. These history vids are fun. I hope that you will do more of them in the future.
Great job with sharing the history behind the vision. I don't recall you mentioning the Arlen Ness version of this bike. Although it looks like a praying mantis I liked them.
lol great video! Love those Visions! At first I thought wtf? Fugly! The black "stripped down" 8 ball and that orange one you guys had, that bike had some real flow to it, really grew on me. I bet that orange one looks really nice with the tour pack off. I still find myself leaning towards finding a Magnum or Cross country though.
a true legend and (unfortunately) already history - but what a bike ......... they did a great job with this bike (............. and SRK another great video ;-) thnx
Might wanna do one on that motor on the Vulcan V2000. That motor was way ahead of its time. In your research you will find that Harley Davidson took Kawasaki to court over that motor.
I like this idea of more of a summary for each bike, especially since the cold weather prevents a more typical test ride video. My suggestion is to add more numbers and compare them to the main competitors, including typical used prices. I will consider buying any future bike from you- you are somewhat between my home in Kentucky and my parents in western NY state.
@@Srkcycles you could say something like "for 2019 with this bike 20 years old and in average condition." Most know if they watch a 2 year old video, used prices have changed over time, sometimes higher from inflation or if it is a collectable. Other numbers are years produced, wet weight, maximum horsepower, number of gears, top speed stock.
And there is the problem with Polaris. No one had ever heard of Victory. Not even in the motorcycle world. The only way a person discovered them was through word of mouth from someone else. Polaris never figured out that marketing is key to selling a motorcycle to people that have never owned a motorcycle but are in the market.
Been riding street bikes for over 40 years and have owned several bikes. I have had 3 Victories , 2 of these being Visions. The good things I will say about them is they are very comfy and handle better than any other touring bike on the market and that includes the Gold Wing. I owned 1 of those also. Now for the bad. Also the paint and the build quality are 2nd rate in my opinion. Their motorers are great but the rest of the bike reminded me of something that was put together in some back woods garage. At this time Im on a Ultra CVO and no that Victory will not beat it in a race.

I was in search of either a Road King Classic or Stratoliner and ended up getting a Vision... a 900lbs sportbike.

Great video and had a few chuckles too. I rode with a dude with one. It had good handling on the backroads for a bike that size.

In my opinion Polaris should have kept the Victory line in addition to Indian
Love all your videos!! Favorite channel to watch.
So secret that we never knew it existed... thus could not buy it. RIP VICTORY
Willy G Davidson is related to the davidsons. Willy G who is in the motorcycle hall of fame has designed several bikes,. Excellent video as usual,

that was actually a really cool video. like a history channel documentary. nicely done man! i was very entertained.

I feel like the Indian Challenger is the spiritual successor to the Vision.
When my local Victory dealer was still in business he only sold one. They didn't go over at all in my area. I test rode one and didn't care for it.
Shout out to the true modern american bike brand, victory
Great video. Loved the lols.
I'm so excited!!

Awsome video as usual. Keep up the good work guys. Irs snowing here in the W.Va. So ive been watching your old ultra ride vids to get my ride fix. Lol

If y’all ever get another Vision please let me know
If only they would have put saddlebags on it like the XCT instead of the miniscule ones it ended up with.

It’s the story that a lot of us tell. And now we all love them
It's still a handsome ride.
