When I was in Rome I threw a coin in the fountain never thinking I'd ever be back. Two years later I did come back, so maybe the coin toss superstition really is true. It was for me. Great video and you explained everything very well.
I am 71 living in the US. I saw the movie as a child, and yes, it was a big hit that shone a lot of attention on Rome. Roman Holiday was even bigger. I'm sure it made many Americans want to go to Rome to see that beautiful city.
Excellent. One of the best videos on any part of Rome that I've seen. Your explanations, account, and facts you present are crystal clear. Thank you very much.
Wow, what a great story, bringing this enigma to life. Fascinating from beginning to end and understandable for everyone. I will use it in class. Thanks so much, so appreciated.
Your videos are usually really excellent. But in this video you forgot to mention one of the masterpieces of Italian movies in the '60s... La Dolce Vita by Fellini with the famous scene played out right here. Marcello Mastroianni and Anita Eckberg the actors!!!!!
very informative; great video well documented info; many thanks
I am an art teacher. And omg I love the rugged rocks the most too. It actually enhances the fountain

I'm curious to know what the Alessandro Galilei design was like. I did a search on google, but nothing came up
People absolutely had running water in their homes in classical Rome, comparatively few and only the ultra wealthy/influential, but it was a thing.
Leuk filmpje!
Dankjewel!
