I loved your commentary on this album! I really enjoyed this record and im a fan of the route she is taking production-wise but i also couldn’t help but miss clairo’s sonngwriting and storytelling and her voice in general. This album felt so packed with beautiful jazzy and groovey melodies and moments but I felt that it wasn’t a fair trade in comparison to how much of her voice her music lost in exchange. Hope she finds a balance between production and songwriting/storytelling on her next album.
I think the topics that claire is writing abt here are different from sling in a way that may make you think it’s less skilled but they are just lighter bc she’s happier and more self aware, this album feels authentically clairo.
sling is one of my favorite albums, but charm really tops it for me. it’s so refreshing to see the maturity reflect not only sonically but lyrically as well. to go from pop, to folk, to 70s blues inspired is such a challenge but clairo does it so beautifully. this album is like a breath of fresh air and i love it
Would love for you to review some of the best slightly underground artists on the British scene as they will still be v underrated in the US etc! Thinking of Little Simz, Loyle Carner, Reijji Snow, Olivia Dean, Cleo Sol, Ezra Collective etc!
I still slightly prefer the more emotional, intimate, Elliott Smith-esque sounds of Sling, but this album is consistently very comforting and pleasant. It’s growing on me with each listen.
If she did an npr tiny desk concert with these songs i would pass away
this is absolutely the perfect album for a tiny desk concert
ur so right, it sounds so tiny desk core
@@juanmoraesx Jazz lounge type sound
ohh fr i wish she will do
I love that piano part of thank you that goes like “du de bu du do”
that reminds me of another song, but I can't remember what song is
This album is chill but not in a boring way, it’s interesting if you want to listen but also good to throw on in the background

This album got me disappointed, I think it sounded pretty the same, love her but idk, this one didn’t get me. My fav is Sexy To Someone
This is such a tame comment but I still have to tell you that you are SO wrong
@@user-yl1xz7ek7h ??? I’m not wrong, i didn’t say any fact, I just said my opinion, I’m a Clairo fan, so just shut the f up
So wrong
agreed ngl
It’s a straight vibe though. It’s also a super short album so it’s not long enough to become tired.
