THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT! - Спорт
Guys, I don't often comment on your videos even though I never miss watching one. I want to thank you for telling this story in full. If you have hunted very long, you have made a bad shot. Sometimes you recover them some times you do not. You told the story in the correct light, with high levels of remorse and with tons of empathy for the animal. It is also important that you used great effort to contact the land owner in order to recover the bull, you have always shown great ethics. The shot analysis and grid search diagrams were very educational and I am sure everyone learned something from them. Thanks for sharing and for keeping God first in your lives. Awesome Work!
When someone asks me why I watch Born and Raised. I’m just gonna show them this video. NEVER GIVE UP
My heart was in my throat. As a bowhunter I know this rollercoaster well. I spent 6 hours tracking a mule deer buck in the high country. I didn't give up and I was rewarded for my hard work. Seeing the miles your crew put in also shows the genuine love you have for the animals you pursue. Thank you for sharing.
Much respect to Born and Raised for being responsible and respectful to both the elk the police and the land owner. As always very classy. Congrats on the bull Trent.
100% appreciate the genuine content you guys put out and this is probably the greatest example of why I would tell people I watch BRO elk hunt. Almost thought I was in the whitetail woods the way that elk dropped at the sound and sight of the shot. Unique situation with the bull seeing two different groups of shooter and cameraman that put him on edge. It happens if you bow hunt enough you will get a not so good hit sometimes but it’s what y’all did after the shot that should impress every viewer the most. Thank y’all for being the hunters y’all are and the knowledge y’all spread plus also the positive role model y’all are for the future generations of hunters. Another great trip into the elk woulda for a south Louisiana boy. Good luck and god bless y’all BRO crew. Can’t wait to see what epic adventure comes out next week
I've seen whitetails here in mississippi drop that far to escape the shot but never in my wildest imagination thought an elk would drop that much. Trent and all the rest of Born and Raised crew are the epitome of relentless sportsmen to never quit until the picture is clear that the animal is not recovered or as Trent did on the last leg of the grid to literally stumble upon this elk. Kudos to all of y'all for never giving up. And much thanks goes out to the landowner for granting permission to trespass to find this magnificent animal to not go to waste. Praise the Lord Jesus Christ for answered prayers. Award winning content here gentlemen for not giving up on a shot that didn't work out as planned. That's why all of us archers Practice , Practice, and Practice some more. Congratulations Trent on a memory of a lifetime.
This Mississippian has had a very similar situation, no head shot, but a frontal shot, down the left side of the deer. No blood at shot sight, multiple people told me you’ll never find that deer. Went back at first light and started grid searching, after hours of searching ran across some blood 350 yards away, I followed the trail to a bed 150 yards away and lost blood again. Started the grid search again and found him 75 yards away in a pond. Congrats Trent, I know how you feel. Heck of a video!
Is it possible to be proud of a man you’ve never even met? I think Yes, Trent I’m proud of you. It would have been real easy to loose it when things like this happen. Easy to be down on yourself, and loose the faith. I know it’s about the team of guys, and the bond you all share, but it also speaks volumes of what kind a man you are.
Way to never give up! What a great representation of our archery hunting community! Thank you for what you guys do! Thanks for posting this.
Man I really respect the way you all hunt and the effort you put forward not just when things go right, but especially when things go wrong. Most hunters give up after the first loss of blood. The pain and the hurt you feel for that animal is nothing less than amazing and as a hunter who wears his heart on his sleeve, I want to say thank you for sharing. I could feel your pain and sadness because as a lifelong hunter you know that no matter who you are, at some point we're met with that moment when things go wrong. And it's the passion and sadness we feel when things go wrong - if I ever lose that it's time to hang it up and go to the supermarket. Thanks again, fellas. What a ride.
Got me teared up watching this emotional rollercoaster. So happy you recovered that bull.
I'm confident this is one of the main reasons bow hunters should always hunt with buddies, not alone. It's fun to hunt with your friends but it's almost necessary sometimes. Great recovery guys!
At one point that was a crime scene, not a blood trail…great recovery! Persistence pays off.
I cannot tell you the amount of respect I have for each and every one of guys. There are so many people who would have just given up, lost blood and just left. When you pull that trigger you have a responsibility, to pay a respect to the animal to put in every effort possible to finding it. Regardless of gun or bow things happen, your not always going to make a good shot and I am so glad you guys showed us the full experience. That feeling of knowing you made a bad shot can’t be put into words. This is the reason I watch Born and Raised, you guys are a family and do everything for each other and share each others success.
Congratulations Trent and crew!! Persistence is what shows the love of the animal! And talk about zero meat loss .. can’t get any better
HOLY FACE SHOT FOR THE WIN! That's insane Trent, so glad you guys were able to stay on it and find him. Thats a step up from "throat punch" in my opinion. Congrats to the most incredible turn from the worst low to the insanely best high. Never would've thought that possible.
How amazing of a cool landowner and how badass for the whole band to be back together !!
Out of all the hunting videos I watch on UA-cam I respect you guys the most. You guys are funny, resourceful and realistic you show the good, the bad, the ugly on what can happen to anyone...The way you guys work together and support each other shows volumes on your personalities
It's one thing explaining ethics to my 13 year old daughter but to show her a video like this is priceless. There are so many aspects to bow hunting that are "behind the scenes". Such as prep, scheduling, practicing shooting the bow, practice calling the animals, and then after the shot understanding process to sit and wait, get a hold of land owner through State police and/or Fish & Game. Then even still, following through to find the Elk at all costs because no hunter ever wants to waste an animal. So much info for my Daughter to be the hunter that we all strive to be. The one take away I took from it was the camera. I have a go pro but dies super quick. Can you, or anyone on here recommend the cameras that were being used. Without those the hunt might not have been a success. I feel like that needs to be added to my arsenal.
Thank you!!
Trent is my favorite UA-cam personality of all the different groups out there posting material (love Cory at elk101 too), so I was extremely grateful to see him harvest this elk. Good work guy's.
Now that's hunting, wow kudos to the BRO team, and everyone that Eric called for being positive in such a challenging and heart wrenching situation.Well done
Trent👊, your shot placement was perfect, you can't predict how that bull will react. Nice to see your bow back in your hands Trent.
This is most definitely my favorite video that you guys have produced. I appreciate you showing the realness of how things don't always play out the way it does in your mind, but persistence pays huge dividends. I hope people took note when you all humbled yourselves before the Lord and asked for help. The Lord really does answer prayers!
As someone who is a part of a big family cattle ranching operation, I really appreciate the honesty and straightforward approach you took upon yourselves once that bull crossed the fence. I can tell you first hand that most farmers/ranchers aren't trying to be jerks by shutting people out. They shut the public out because a certain segment has an entitled attitude and a lack of respect for a persons/family's livelihood. You guys just perfectly displayed how one should conduct themselves. Honesty is always the right way! If you do your part and the landowner still says no, then they assume responsibility for that aninimal. Keep up the great work!
Painful to watch but it happens to us all. I was telling a taxidermist the story of my big buck and told Him “God gave me that deer because i didn’t hit him where I was aiming.” He said “ Every deer or animal we get is a gift from God”. So I thanked God for mine and for your elk. Thanks for sharing .Laura
Hey you guys showed how important it is to keep your cool, and not to get overwhelmed and stay in the hunt. Fantastic job showing what it means to respect the elk, and to do everything in your power to try to recover that bull with such an amazing effort from all of the guys on this hunt. I was on a black tail deer hunt in the coastal range of Nor Cal, and had my hunting partner hit a buck in the face due to the head position of the steep uphill buck, looking back down at us with his head turned back alongside his hind quarter as stood quartering hard away. The shot wasn’t off much, but due to the head turned around looking our way, the arrow hit just below the eye. We recovered that deer after a short tracking job, and was very surprised at the large amount of blood loss. So, congratulations on sticking with a brutal track, and finding that bull. Terrific teamwork from start to finish, and Trent certainly doesn’t need to feel unworthy of getting that bull, because it was meant to be his bull.
Don’t let this get you down. It happens. Glad you were able to recover it. Truly inspiring.
Respect to you all for doing the right thing ! Glad GOD was watching over you and answered your prayers!!!!
A great example of commitment and teamwork. Having two camera angles is huge. Actually that arrow buried in a deadly place. Congratulations.
I hit one in the pedicle of the antler. Same scenario. I also found a 7x7 deadhead with an arrow in the nose. My takeaway is, if the bull is on alert and not 15 or less, don’t take it. Which is easy to say when not in the moment 😂
Very glad you found the elk. Was waiting for Trevor to pop him!! Good job with the grid search and finding him. Landowner and his son as you said deserve some great gear and a big thank you. (Which you already said)
Great perseverance! You have done a great job of being a positive role model in our hunting community! Thank you for feeding my obsession one week at a time! Keep up the great work!
This hunt comprises the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. Way to stick with it and do your due diligence that we as hunters owe to these magnificent creatures.
That's an incredible land owner! You guys handled that private land hurdle most admirably! Oh and I can't believe the blood you're getting, from a face shot!! I think every single one of us learned something from that!
I love watching Born and Raised for the awesome ride we get to go on with you guys. But the bond, commitment, and ethics are what keep me on this channel. Thanks for keeping it real and showing this. You guys are awesome!
Hats off to that private land owner and them being so accommodating to allow you all acess to not let that animal go to waste. You of course did the right thing in contacting OSP and gaining the land owners permission. Honest people doing things properly with private land owners have a hugh impact on how other hunters will be treated in the future. Thanks again and congrats on harvesting a nice bull.
two main take always to this video: Respect goes to the landowner. He allowed people he didn’t know to access his property when he is lied to regularly by strangers attempting to do the same thing. That landowner deserves the biggest of thanks from our community, and should be rewarded by people staying off his property without permission.
Second, accidents happen while hunting any game. Shots don’t always end up where we want them to, wether from animals movement, our error, or equipment issues. That’s why we make our absolute best effort to minimize those occurrences and also our best effort recovering that animal after a shot like that. Too many times people would write that off as non-lethal without much effort.
Great job Crew. You are the example that all sportsman and hunters should follow. You respect private property, public property, other hunters on public and private. You respect the animals you chase. You build the community up with positivity and faith instead of test it apart with branding and political debate regarding equipment or tactics. Thank you for everything you do for our community. Maybe someday I’ll have the honor of meeting you in true elk woods and sharing a mountain house with you guys.
Nice work with the recovery…persistence and teamwork paid off! A few things stand out to me on this encounter:
1) Trent and Kody were pretty close to Trevor’s line of fire…a deflected arrow could’ve been a scare
2) Frontals against an aware animal (head up and searching for something) are risky and might be considered unethical by some
3) You took the best shot you had and it paid off…although, as in lots of cases, luck was on your side.
This one had it all...the good...the bad and the ugly. But the ending could not have been scripted. You can't fake the emotion that Trent and the group displayed. Excellent job. Thanks for keeping it real. Hunting has ups and downs, this video is great.
Excellent Job! The hunt was epic and like was said already, you can control the shot, but you can't control the reaction of the target. I watch your hunts for two reasons. One, for your devotion to God who blesses. Two, for the work you all put in. It was said in the video, the team of guys you have hunting can not be beat. Keep up the great work, the field work, the tracking, and mostly for the ethical hunting style. You guys are a blessing. The sign behind Steve's left shoulder summed up this hunting experience completely! "Hard"... Again, you guys are awesome. God Bless!
That was an amazing episode, reminded me so much of my hunting buddies, and the brotherhood. Working together and helping each other out. Never giving up. Congrats Trent on your elk, and thank you for sharing your experience with all of us.
This is the best hunting video I have seen released by you guys to date. We all make gut split second wrong decisions and have made heart sickening shots. To see this video out for the public to realize that even the best of us will make a bad shot is such a good thing for the archery hunting community. Thanks for continuing to put out real content and Trent, thanks for owning your shot and following through. Great job bud.
Love the fact when you found the elk you gave credit to all your friends helping you make it a success its about the memories.
Mad props for airing this. Much RESPECT. We've all had mishaps, so happy this one worked out. Great video.
Takes character to show a shot like that. You are a group of stand up men. Thanks for setting the bar for all hunters.
Congratulations Trent! I know how you must have felt after that shot. Especially with it being on film and having it out there for the whole word to see. You handled it perfectly. That’s just how bow hunting goes sometimes. That’s the thing i really like about you guys, you always show everything, the good and the bad. Thanks for all you guys do.
Great work gentlemen. The joy of finding your bull is like none other. It must have been such a relief to find that guy. You make the rest of us hunters proud when you show how hard you’ll work to make sure you’re not wasting an animal. It’s obvious that taking an animals life is a very serious thing to you guys. I couldn’t be happier with how y’all represent us.
Thank you for showing us how the whole story went. I know it wasn't easy for you. The memory of a not perfect shot always stays with you and it absolutely sucks! I've been there too my friend. I am so glad you found your bull. You guys stuck with it! Thank you.
Because of your integrity and videos such as this is why you’re my favorite hunting show - keep it up guys and congrats Trent!!
Congratulations Trent on a great bull, as the way with life, things don't always happen as planned but with perseverance and a great team it worked out great...What an emotional overload. Thanks for bringing it to us just the way it happens, not always pretty but real life!!!
I can relate to this so much. Opening day 2018 my buddy made a poor shot, front side of the back ham. The bull made a quick attempt to run as the shot was released. We gave him 4 hours. There was no blood trail. We worked off tracks and general direction and found him alive but bedded down. We were able to sneak in and finish the job. So emotional. Sad that the bull had to suffer, yet not giving up was so important. Things happen. Great work guys!
This video is exactly why people love BRO! True representation of what can happen with a bow and showing the good, the bad and the ugly stuff. Most importantly how to make every effort to recover an animal. My heart sank too Trent... way to persevere guys. Can't wait to see what's next.
Anything can happen! No matter how much experience or practice you have!
I have a lot of respect for you guys showing this and doing the right thing afterwards
You guys done what every hunter/hunting party should do. Thanks for keeping it real boys.
A lot of people won’t grasp how fast those creatures actually are. That elk heard that bow release and dropped its head instantly. I’d like to see how fast that split second was. From the time that bow released to time that elk flinched and began to almost matrix that arrow flying at its upper chest. Tough death but an absolutely incredible experience wow. Love these videos.
Ohhhh man. That recovery had me in tears. I know the emotions of a iffy shot and hours of meticulous tracking. The horrible feeling of a bad shot is almost unbearable. Finding him though is an even get joy!!!
I have found when a elk or deer are on any alert and you shoot at them they have a higher likely hood of ducking or flinching. If that elk was looking at trevor I bet he wouldnt of had the mindset of ducking. I have been trying to let the arrow fly more without stopping the animal if it is possible so that they dont have any idea that I am there. Thanks for always putting in the effort and striving to find the animals you guys harvest.
To God be the glory! Your faith in the good and the bad is inspirational. Who knew face shots were fatal?! Crazy adventures, men - thank you for sharing!
Trent I had the 100% identical thing happend to me in 2006. Made me sick. I've literally watched this shot 20 times and it was do identical it's nuts. We searched and searched for 3 days. The Washington coast brush made it nearly impossible for a recovery on a shot like this. The lord was with you that day brother. All praise and glory to him!
Appreciate you guys - you're honest, funny, candid and vulnerable.. not to mention, badass hunters and team mates! Keep up the good work and many more blessings to you 🙏🏼😊
Great teamwork and perseverance guys. Congratulations Trent on a great bull. Kudos to the landowner for allowing you guys on the property. Look forward to all of your episodes.
Tough one to watch, but as usual, you guys do the right thing, you never cut corners when it comes to being ethical.
It would've been easy not to ask for permission, but that's not the right thing to do, thanks for always doing the right thing..
Trent, you have a big heart and it shows in all you do, you did what was right, in a bad situation.
Love you brother and much respect to the team.
Well done. Full commitment to recover. Turning less than ideal into a blessing is the answer to prayer. Thank you Lord.
Great hunt ! Trent don’t be to hard on yourself! I know you try and do all you can to make an ethical shot which it looks like you did ! But you can’t control the animals reaction ! I shot at a whitetail once broadside , aimed right behind the shoulder . He dropped and turned in one motion to leave , and the arrow hit him right in the back of the head! Luckily in the brains and he dropped on the spot ! Not quite like your Elk , but Praise the lord that you found him ! God Is Good!
And great job to all you guys to put in all the effort till you found him! And kudos to the landowner for letting you go after him !! You guys are such a great Team!!!! God Bless you !
You guys are absolutely the best! Congratulations Trent! You guys did absolutely what you should've did...we can't accout for the what it's. ...that happened here....all we can do is follow up with them and that's exactly what you guys did! Kudos!
Wow, what a crazy hunt. Glad you guys were able to recover it! Thanks for showing us the right way to go about getting permission 👍
It was edited exactly as it should have been. It may have been hard to watch again, Trent, but it belongs out there for every bow hunter to see. Great team!
Crap happens. Good on you for following up.
You guys always keep it 100% thank you for sharing your adventures win lose or draw.
Congratulations Trent on an amazing bull.
Stellar videography and team work!
Brought tears to my eyes
Trent and Trevor you two are by far my favorite ones well I think Steve is funny too but yall inspire me to be a better hunter and try looking at the elk woods differently. I have grown to be a better elk hunter because of yall and the last several years yall taught me alot thank you and keep it up
I’m super grateful to the landowners that have giving access for me to find game!!!. Glad you guys found him!!!
Thanks for sharing this. Glad you were able to find him and have such an awesome team to stick with it. Many people would have given up long before y’all did. Glad to see we have other Mississippians watching😉
Thank you for sharing the good the bad and the ugly. It doesn't always go the way we want. Appreciate the effort you all put in to recovering the elk. Congratulations Trent!
In Cody's words, there's always highs and there's always lows. The team's due diligence along with possibly a little divine intervention paid off.
Ive watched you guys elk hunt since the first Land of the Free-the rollercoaster on this one was wild. The honesty, persistence and teamwork was incredible.
No one goes out to make a bad shot, but they happen and sometimes its out of your control-the controllable aspects here after the shot are something that I can really appreciate and I think everyone who watched this learned what no quit means. Well done guys, congratulations Trent, and thank you, from Alberta 🇨🇦
What a great video showing the ethics of elk hunting. Everyone has been in a situation where the shot wasn't perfect. I love how you went thru all the proper channels and then searched your butts off. I love how you never gave up. Obviously someone upstairs was looking down on you. To go from that much blood to no blood and still finding it was unreal. Congrats
Congratulations on the bull Trent! Even though it didn't go as planned, you stuck with it just like a true sportsmans you and your team are!
Love the video, glad you guys found it. It hurts a little as I had a friend and hunting partner give up and not help me look for a bull of a lifetime this last season. Awesome to see you guys work together in the hard times and never give up on each other.
I have shot a whitetail, aiming for the left side from a high stand, arrow ended up in the right side of the head. Still have it. Brother shot a one 30 yds broadside, arrow in the forehead, penitrated into the vertebra. 80s bows . Unbelievable how fast animals react. Once again, great job by the BRO crew. Couldn't find a better bunch of guys anywhere! The Bmac track job a few years ago was almost as bad of an experience. Those kind of experiences only make you stronger in life.
Incredible roller coaster of a video! Appreciate the authenticity and honesty that y’all have to show the whole story. And the effort made to do things the right way and get ahold of the landowner, etc. great video!
Love , Love, Love it! All of you deserve that. I share in your emotions. Never once questioned your shot. Thank you.
Another great example from you guys on what the right things hunters should be doing when out chasing game. Keep it up!
Awesome work guys. It's nice to see a team work together and not give up when times are rough. What an emotional roller coaster this was. Keep up the hard work.
Hats off to you guys showing the true hunt. This is why my wife and I watch every week. Congrats on putting in the effort to find him. Keep up the great content.
Nice work BRO Team. Man, as I watched this unfold, two occasions in my hunting career came to mind. Every one of us with a punched ticket for this rollercoaster feels the tightness in our chest and lump in our throat over the circumstance. Can’t tell you enough how happy I am you “aired” this whole video. Kudos my brothers.
BRO crew, you've done it again. You present your hunt just the way it happened with all the emotions that go along with hitting an animal that at first seemed unrecoverable. Y'all put in the work, made the appropriate contacts, and did everything right after the shot to recover that bull. I absolutely love watching your content and can hardly wait until the next one comes out. Thanks for sharing with us. This was not only educational but inspirational. The best part for me is that you keep the Lord first in your life. Thank you brothers.
Great job sticking to it, I learned a bunch watching and I’ve been bow hunting 40 years. We all never stop learning.
Such an awesome video. Thank you for sharing the good and the bad! It’s so easy to not share that footage but there is so much everyone can learn from this one! Never give up and pray hard! We’ll done guys much respect
There's just something about Bow hunting.. Congratulations for never giving up... A higher power led Trent to his Elk because Trents heart needed to be the first to rest easy... Long time follower from Australia 🇦🇺
You guys are what every hunter should emulate. Great team. What a great episode on what can really happen and the grit & determination to do everything you can to find it. Well done and keeping God first in ours lives does wonders. Bless you for sharing it all with us. I've been though those emotions more than I would like. Thank you again for sharing.
I had that EXACT same thing happen a few years ago. Identical. He stood about 80 yards away with two other bulls shaking his head and the arrow just swung back and forth before jogging off like nothing happened. Looked like a unicorn. Such an awful feeling. Tears were shed. No blood trail and unfortunately never found him.
When, I saw my heart sunk oh no. Great follow up job and recovering the elk, and giving credit to God.
Things definitely happen hunting. Anyone who has never had a bad shot has never hunted much. Amazing to see how much that elk dropped. Have seen it in whitetails , but not as much in elk. But good friends and not giving up , resulted in a great ending! Good educational moment showing making phone calls to gain access to private. Congrats Trent.
I'm proud of you guys for being so persistent in searching after you lost blood. Too many people would quit when the blood ran out.
Also, perfect execution on the private property access to continue the trail. Thank you for being a good example on that deal.
God bless you guys, and keep up the good work!
Thanks for sharing all of it! My heart sank when I saw the shot... God was definitely on your side! Must've hit an artery or vein in there somewhere... Mind blown...
1. Felt bad for elk. 2. Felt bad for Trent. 3. Glad you didn't quit on the elk.
You guys are the huggingest bunch I ever seen. I know that is spilled wrong, but it works.
The name of the Eli needs to be Raw Emotion, Ethics, Brothers and Awesomeness
Kudos for showing this one and playing it out the way yall did. It's easy for us to sit here and say "That was a bad shot", but there were a lot of factors that occured. My takeaway is that I don't think I would go frontal on an alert elk unless its under 15 yards. He definitely "jumped the string. Although it isn't an ideal situation, at least yall put it out there for us all to learn from. Great job on the edit and info. Trent... Im sure you beat yourself up terribly over this, and it shows in the video. As hunters we want a quick kill, but its true, they don't always die right away. Some factors are within our control, some not. Great episode despite the bad situation.
Congrats, Trent, on the facial. All jokes aside, this Rollercoaster got me all choked up and glad for the successful recovery. I can't wait to hear the story next month at the Portland Sportsman Show.
Bad shots happen but to own up to it on social media speaks volumes for this group.
We’ve all been there man. Sickening feeling knowing you caused suffering to an animal. Thrilled that you recovered the elk cuz not all these fatal shots in bad spots end in recovery. Keep them coming guys.
I had a big bull the opener this year jump onto private. That landowner did not let me retrieve. I had proof that I had shot him twice. And still wouldn’t let me on to go get him. So thank you land owner and son for letting your group on to retrieve. Thank god and congratulations.
