The push I needed. After a year of using elego cura with a elegoo neptune 4 pro. I've switched to orca. And some of these new options spook me, but I know I can figure it out like everyone else.
Thank you for this. Ive been seeing other videos talking about this. Ive mainly used cura but i just upgraded to a bambu x1c and want to switch to orca so this will be a great help!
Question in orca slicer, lets say for retraction. If youre using 1.5mm retracrion then you use calibration then no stringing at 3mm. Do you add it to get 4.5mm retraction or its just 3mm retraction?
The range of variables input into the calibration are what is tested. You’d simply use the best variable from the test-the calibration is independent from the existing settings (except for flow rate, which is a multiple of the existing setting). Hope this helps 👍
Use the greatest value that gives the most smooth result. Signs of a too-high flow rate are elevated ridges near the edges of the test. On the flip side, signs of under extrusion are visible layer lines from the layer below the surface layer. It would almost look like a criss-cross pattern due to under extrusion. I'd be happy to demonstrate this in a future video!
@@Gregatron13 yes. Big thing is Temperature first, as it affects the other variables. Some may not be needed, like retraction for example, if stringing isn’t happening. Great question! Feel free to ask any questions you may have 👍
I will be making an in depth video with full calibration in Orca shortly. Should be made public within the next two weeks. I’ve been taking time to plan this out so it can be most beneficial. Thanks for reaching out 👍
One mistake in value calculation or one test done without opening a new project first and all the EASY part gets down the shitter. Then - the relationship between e.g. Bambu built-in calibrations and those manual ones is not explained. Then there's the crappy interface. You have orca calibration and the leftover Bambu Studio calibrations both exposed to the user at the same time!

Thanks so much for the tips! I never bother to do these tests and don’t really know what they’re for but now my printer can do so much better.
Hahaha i thought this was my video but i watched it and it's so much more informative and well edited😂
THANKS SO MUCH I JUST GOT A PRINTYER THIS HELPED ME TROBLESHOOT SO WELL
That’s it, I’m trying orca tomorrow

Damnnn no comments?! Thas actuqlly really simple! Def trying that with all my filaments!
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!

does it still not loading the auto bedding setting?
How do you measure/read the flow rate test?

So do you just go right down the line in the calibration menu? As far as what order to go in?

@@overclock3DP Cool thanks! I am just now getting into Orca now that it has the Creality K1 integrated. Time to relearn everything 😂
@@Gregatron13 awesome! I’ll do what I can to help along the way. Best of luck!
Hi, where can I see your orca slicer full video

There is way more to that to dial in a letter.
How do you finish the g90 extruder position reset thing I can't get it tk work
Where can i download get this? I have a MacBook
I was reluctant to switch from cura at first. After using orca for 6 months or so now, I don't even bother opening anything else.

Bro I have a question in what order should I construct these test ? Would be very helpful
