After a few hours, ANT INFESTATION !!!
Today’s video we’ll be cleaning out my Cyriocosmus elegans’ enclosure due to ant infestation. Ants are one of the most dangerous when it comes to tarantula keeping. A few ants will be able to take down a small tarantula like this in less than an hour.

There's a possibility the ants could invade the other enclosures around that area too? I'd make sure you check the others just in case as well.
I've wrote it in a couple of previous videos now but to better combat mold you should also have a "gravel" layer at the bottom to act as a drainage layer; with a cocohusk layer above it as a barrier; and then horticultural/activated charcoal (with springtails) above it to act as filtration and then your substrate.

He did not open the ant poison over a tarantula it was the enclosure he keeps his molts in. Watch it again and you'll see.

Literally felt the exact same anxiety until figuring out its his molt stash, still wouldnt recommend opening and using it with possibilities of it contaminating an enclosure
i think you should check your tarantula sheds that are in the box
Ant keepers use petroleum jelly with baby powder to keep ants out of places they don't belong mabe that would work for you to help keep them out
Is he ever going to learn that a tri-pod has its benefits; as does handling delicate animals with two hands?
I know, it'd make things easier and safer for him and the critters if he got one.

You'll probably save yourself in the future by spraying a perimeter of ant-poison around the Exotics Lair. It's completely safe for dogs as long as you let it dry before letting the dogs out.

The main reason ants are invading your home is because your hobby is also a great food source for Ants.
As soon one working ant discover a new good feeding ground, he will run back to the colony and the result is shown on this video.
Maybe you can contact Antscanada ( youtube channel ) and ask for the best advice for the future.

I absolutely HATE ants. I've had an ant infestation in my apartment for a few months. I finally found a working ant poison, but they seriously are nuisances

Looks to be tapinoma sessile (ghost ants) they are very are to get rid of them due to them having many queens, plus some may think they breed within the colony, they can also merge. Or they could be pharoh ants

Ants are literally the worst when it comes to invading your house. Those little buggers were all over are house over the summer and we ended up calling a guy to spray everywhere. It was expensive but it worked
But ants are interesting. I discovered it. I like ants and tarantula spiders, etc. and I also feed them, but it didn't kill them. Good bye.
Yep we have similar stuff..once the queen dies ...the colony goes with it.

These killed one of my exotic insects once; they were small enough to crawl into the container but the insect could not escape.

I have the spray are for ants they accidentally go through the plug area and the microwave but we used RAID ants and roaches it definitely kills easy
My Darlingi died because of ants 🥺 and the tarantula just finished molting so its very fragile

Those look like sugar/grease ants, they are everywhere and you will never totally get rid of them.... we are constantly putting poison down for those pests.
He's in SE Asia, I can guarantee they're not the same ants as you unless you are there as well! There are over 10,000 ant species in the world, and they have HUGE variety, some you can tell by looking what they are, but others you need to look very close with a microscope because of their teeny size. :) I know this because a good friend of mine is an entomologist specializing in ants and despite my fear of ants theyve taught me lots about them!
You should move those other enclosures so ants won't get in there
By the looks of them they’re ghost ants. They can fit through microscopic holes so I’d check all the other tanks for them. Their colonies can also grow to be massive

You can use sweet & low at the place they come in and they will not walk across it. You need to find where they are getting in.

Killed all the centipedes in my grandpas basement because they freak me out. Due to this there was an ant infestation. I used a poison like this which worked like a charm. I was worried because there was multiple Queens flying around. Anyway now I leave the centipedes alive to keep the basement ant free
