- This was the game, that completely changed my life forever. I got this game at 2001 on summer, and with a brand new PS1. Coincidently, this was the very first Pac-Man game that I ever played! This game, was just completely awesome on the first day when I ever layed my eyes on this beauty! This was the first 3D game and a new type of game that I ever played, since I was still used to the NES even in 2001! XD I still have my CD (which is actually a bootleg) and interestingly, it still works, however the FMV scenes doesn't play normally now. The game is about Pac Man's 20th anniversaty, and what a surprise he has! :) A completely big, new 3D action-platformer with a lot of traps and ghosts to swallow! ;) This game was one of the hardest games I have ever played when I was a kid. Took me nearly 3-4 years to conquer it! Actually during the video I used the NTSC version, and it has some minor changes to the PAL version what I got used to it. Also: the recorder program just hates me or something, because at every 2-3 minutes there is this very annoying laggtime, then it goes to normal again, so bare with that! During the video, I died a few times, my main objective was to try to gather as many letters as could, and to unlock every maze in the game. I used a graphics boooster plugin, so there is no music in some areas.

This game is so nostalgic to me. I played it all the time back around 2005-2009. I was never to beat it but I was able to get to space to save grandpa Pac with the help of my dad.

For the 40th anniversary of Pac-Man I think they should remake all three Pac-Man World games in HD like they did with Spyro and Crash Bandicoot

Space levels are quite easy compared to funhouse and factory levels.

considering this came out over 20 years ago on a 32 bit console it still looks pretty sharp.
To Me The Commercial Looked Like It Was A Game For The Original PlayStation But The Actual Product Look Liked It Was Made On The Nintendo 64

Not as clean-looking as Bubsy 3D and Spyro but yeah it still holds up well
EDIT: Before you say anything about how I mentioned Bubsy 3D, I played it for 900+ hours and personally really loved it. The checkerboards and use of more vertex coloring than textures are an artistic choice to make the planet where the game takes place look more vibrant, and while the draw distance is not the best thing ever it's far enough to navigate the levels really well. I really recommend giving it at least a shot. If you want to play it, don't rush around and take your time to learn the controls properly (which is why people usually can't control it properly, since it's way different to any other 3D platformer ever. Feels like a cross between the SNES Bubsy games and Jumping Flash though, to put it simply) :)

People say Pac-man isn't for the 3d world.
I disagree and this game pretty much proves that statement wrong, the level design, collecting and mechanics are all just satisfying as a mesh, even more than a super Mario game I'd say, the sound design is very unique as well, through my years I've yet to find a game that even comes close to using the same music or sounds.

This game changed my life too! I was 7 when my relatives bought me for Christmas PS1 with some of my favourite games of all the times (Pac-Man World, Spyro 2, Crash Bandicoot 3 and Tekken 3). I was the only "gamer girl" in my class and I felt very special :)

When I had a PS1 I would play this game and some others, but I was like 5 or even a bit younger I guess, and finding gameplays of this stuff feels more like getting back memories I lost rather than just nostalgia

This game was years beyond its time. It looks better than most indie games nowadays. The mechanics, the textures, the level designs, soundtrack and sfx, everything is so perfect...

I can proudly say that today (Aug 25, 2021), I have finally completed Pac Man World!
I remember how it was difficult to pass through Anubis Rex level as a kid. I never got through that. Come 2021, where I downloaded the game on my PC through Vimm's lair. The feeling of finally beating that level made me so happy and I discovered new levels for the first time (Clowns and Factory).
Today, I have defeated the Toc Man boss and that the soul of young me can finally rest. I am 23 now and I am so happy.
On Aug. 26, 2022, you’ll be able to do it all over again in HD.

Holy shit this has memories flooding back to me. I used to LOVE this game. Hearing the sounds and everything is just wild. I’m 23 now so I played this game when I was maybe 6 or 7?? I remembered loving the space part. I also have a vivid memory of my mom coming downstairs to say Kelly Clarkson just won American Idol and I threw a fit because she distracted me and I lost a level. WOW weren’t those the days lmfao.
i used to play it around the same time Im 22 now but yeah I dont think I ever got to the space level I was just too bad I think hahah this was the best game ;)
57:00 90's kid me could never get past this level and I didn't have a memory card. So every day I would just replay the game up to this boss fight and then start over the next morning lol. That and Spyro were my go-to-games. Can't wait for the remake of this one.

I remember I played this as a very young kid (5 years maybe, I don't remember for sure), the thing is that the intro (?) used to make me cry because I imagined my family and relatives being kidnapped :(

I grew up with a ps1 with all the games illegally burned onto discs in a binder and no memory card. I'd start this game from scratch every day until I beat it in one sitting. I'm almost glad I didn't have the memory card because I had the whole game memorized

I've played this countless times in my cousin's house along with my brother and another cousin. I always loved the general ambiance of the Pirate-themed stages.
Despite the amount of time playing it, I realized I never made it passed through the Space-themed stages.
That first level brings so much nostalgia. Because I didnt actually own the game, I had this PS1 demo disc which had this game and the Toy Story 2 game. Back when demo's actually let you play a decent amount of the game and not just 5 minutes on a timer.

My absolute favorite game when I was little 😭
This was the first video game I EVER played. It holds a special place in my heart. Like when I was 3 I was awful at the game-I would game over in the pirate world sometimes lmao. But now if I’m ever depressed or bored at like 12 am I’ll just bang this game out and have a great time. Sure, it’s not perfect; but it’s still fun.

The second boss was a nightmare
The chase scene from the mummy’s 1st person perspective was fear-stoking. And this “Legends of the Hidden a Temple” tiki on steroids looks annoying as hell.
By far the hardest in the game.
I could never beat it. That failure still haunts me today.

The cutscenes in this game always reminded me of those weird CGI bumpers they play on tv screens at bowling alleys
I remember back in those days, when I used to play a lot of Crash Bandicoot or Super Mario 64 in Nintendo. It was when I finished them that I felt that no other game could just fit what they left empty. Then I found this game and Oh god it was like a dream come true to find such a new story that would bring those adventure feelings back. Good memories, seriously miss those days.

I hate how people dismiss this game because Pac-Man wasn’t originally a platformer and because it uses a couple of mechanics from Donkey Kong Country and Crash Bandicoot

I remember this game and never beat it only beating very few levels also love the music on level 1 or at the docks before any level. 4:29 love the music.

Update: I finished it in October 2020, it was a nice challenge, especially the King Galaxian and Anubis Rex boss fights, boy they were tough, and I think it’s as difficult as Crash Bandicoot (1996) which is another PSX classic. ;)

Every year I watched gameplay of Pac-Man World. Unfortunately I don't own the game anymore, as I sold my PS3 needing the money, but growing up watching gameplay of this game and then being able to play it years later was amazing. This game definitely had a huge impact on my childhood for sure. :)
Edit & update: I ended up buying a PS1 and Pac-Man World not too long ago!!!
