I will always love both Toc designs.
However, Re-Pac had a more entertaining fight with him actually being the hardest boss instead of Anubis.
I miss him talking, though. His OG voice was perfection.
I don't mind the extra phases, but i think the most special thing about Toc-Man was removed and that's how since he is a mock copy of Pac-Man, he uses all your abilities against you so you also get to use said abilities against him in specific phases. But on Re-Pac you can practically just butt-stomp him on all phases now, which just makes the fight a bit less interesting.
"NO NO NO YOU IDIOTS! I WANTED GOLD STREAMERS AND RED BALLOONS! THE DJ STINKS, THE BANNERS ARE CROOKED, AND THE CAKE SHOULD BE CHOCOLATE!"
"YOU'RE GONNA RUIN MY PARTY!"
His voice (back when he talked) was perfection just like his original design (his Re-Pac design is badass, but his original design is so cute it makes him look like he came from Pac-Man World 2)!
aww man nobody's continuing it ;-;
@@Duskool Base = Pac-Dot Throw (gatling)
Chrome = Butt Bounce
Power Pellet = Rev Roll
For Re-PAC
its gonna be sad if you make a "crates and springs" comparison, as you realize that repac re-uses the beach crates and springs on all stages, while in the og, each stage had a personalized crate and spring to fit the stage theme
I'm betting them using the same crates and springs might have been a misguided attempt to keep them uniform so really young players instantly know what they are.
Also "trampolines" in RePac aren't called B-Doings like they were in the original.
Scott Rogers (one of the og designers (WHO WASN'T CREDITED IN REPAC)) even talks about how crates are overused in his book. He is right I think, variety is better and you can find a lot of crates in video games where they'd be out of place in real life.
😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
@@grantwinter-helms5410 How dumb Can they be? Lol
10:37 I dunno why but the original Khrome Keeper looks like something out of Banjo-Kazooie while the remake’s version looks more like a Ratchet & Clank villain.
Funny thing is your not wrong, Krome Keeper definitely got a makeover from the original to the remaster.
Some enemies had more personality in the original, but I like some designs from the Remake
It really is a mixed bag and I appreciate that.
It makes me laugh how the blue alien tells you bye when he throws you off the cliff 😂

@@MrStickman1997 oh
Holy mother of God, the Grand Prix clowns are terrifying in the original
They kinda are
Agreed
Their teeth look bad
Compared to the Re-Pac; the original enemies are faster and give no indication when they are about to attack
Also IMO the most dramatic change is the Clown Prix
And the World 5 Boss went from Comic Fool to Power Tool: ua-cam.com/video/PApPfxSdRoM/v-deo.html
I never noticed that in the original the forcefield alien will wave goodbye to pac-man if it manages to push him off a cliff
It always does it if you fall near it. I hated those marvin-looking ass mfers.
I personally like the original artstyle more but some of these are nice to see in HD and a few actual are more stylized
I just beat Re-Pac and had played the original ages ago. I also watched some footage of the original recently just to see some of the differences and there are quite a few differences in level designs. I actually prefer some of the stuff in the original game over the remake. They made the game generally easier in Re-Pac, which is fine. Though, they did mix some things up here and there in levels to make a few parts a bit more challenging.
Though, I do like some of the boss changes like Anubis Rex, Krome Keeper, and Clown Prix. However, I actually prefer some of the atmosphere of some of the original game. Like in the haunted levels, Re-Pac removed the rainy weather effect and everything is a stone texture (the original had a bit more variety in its textures)
The worst culprit was the cutscenes. The original just had way more charm than the remake. Yes, Re-Pac is a bit more technically polished, but there were minor nuances in the original that I miss in Re-Pac.
I know the character design in Re-Pac were done by a Japanease Team, but i wish they kept the original American ghost atleast
One boss I’m especially happy with the changes they made to was Anubis Rex.
For one, he moves and acts like he’s actually alive and fighting you, compared to the original, much more static version.
For another, the addition of the tiles is very welcome. Even if your phase progress is no longer saved upon losing a life, the fight feels fun to do. The fact that Anubis breaks more of the tiles with each point of health you remove is a quite fair challenge.
(And I can only assume they playtested Anubis this time XD)
Yes. I totally agree. Beating Anubis in the OG was fucking annoying and in the remake was kinda challenge and fun at the same time
@@megga_draws125 They didn't playtest Anubis in OG, explains everything.
Krome Keeper goes from calm and sometimes randomly grooving mid-battle to having a temper half a centimeter high.
The clown racers are less creepy in the remake
Absolutely loving this game, brings back great memories from my childhood. I hope they keep these remakes/Remasters from my childhood coming. Pacman world Re pac, Destroy all Humans 1 n 2, spongebob bfbt and we got Resident Evil 4 remake and Dead Space remake coming soon. I love it!!
I like how Re-Pac makes alot of it's enemies a natural evolution for modern era though not all of 'em cuz some of the original enemies were still pre good for their time, most of the bosses I like alot better in Re-Pac as well. Really liking what I'm seeing, pre good stuff ngl
I kinda like some of the newer ones more ngl. Some fit better than others.
Like the Factory Boss - Krome Keeper. He looks more intimidating in Re-Pac & his fight is actually more challenging & NON boring compared the original. Plus his fight in Re-PAC is actually the scrapped version now brought to life.
@@mariocooper1996 Yes! They look like genuine foes now.
Also, the remade shark reminds me a little of the BattleBot Sharko. :D
The Bot had two names, but I can only remember this one.
As for the skeletons in the thumbnail, the originals look like they came from Pac-Man World 2 (and eventually, Pac-Man and the University of Pac-Land) while the remake makes them look like they had an N-Sane Trilogy makeover.
Re-Pac exceeds the original in the technical sections that have been graphic, physical, and performance, Regarding the sound section, the truth is that it is quite bad and as for the details in the animations Let's say that if I improve several things but remove others, a good example is when the little blue man manages to push you into the void, he looks down and says goodbye XD, well in Re-Pac the little martian doesn't do that :( or when the tornadoes catch you Pacman they make him spin and hurt him and in re pac Pacman only takes damage :'( or when Pacman is crushed by rocks or falling gears he gets crushed and in re pac, as expected, it not only suffers damage :'(, in short, the fact that the original game has all those details for that time on that console, the truth makes it the best.
I forgot to mention that in the original when Pinky attacks Pacman he generates heart particles making an obvious reference to what he kissed him and they took away the creepy face of the charlatan
Re-Pac isn't a bad game by any means, but it definitely lost almost all of what made the original so special, the enemies alone show how much they've derived from that era
What's noticeable too is how, ironically, a lot of the enemies lost the pac-shaped pupils on them, kinda like how Toc-man and Pac-mom and pac-sis also don't have em for whatever reason
@@Duskool it’s a copyright issue for ms pac man they weirdly don’t have the rights to use ms pac man
@@difference3maker36 Yes, i know why ms. pac man isn't here, what i don't know is why they didn't give the characters the normal pac-esque pupils, and noses
1:23 can we just talk about how the ghosts arms are constantly shaking in the original?
7:36 also I kinda prefer how in the original, the ghosts didnt wear a hat. This makes sense since this is basically their home (ok well, the entire island and their space station is kinda their home but you know what im talking about)
also why do they need a space helmet? THEY'RE GHOSTS!!!
I'm just conflicted on how I feel about this whole remake. On one hand, it does what it says on the tin: Pac-Man World in a new coat of paint and that paint is very stunning. And it does change some things for the better like bosses and controls.
But for every step forward, it makes the most confusing steps back. The music is the same yet somehow the notes are just not right, camera angles that gave an exciting view of the level are gone and the way they butchered the Factory's set pieces is unforgivable.
Pac-Man world Re-Pack lacks the vibrant colours and variety of the original. Yeah some of the designs are somewhat better upgraded but as with the Neander Pac, lacks a soul and moves badly. The original has a quirkiness,a whimsy that Re-Pack lacks.

Awesome man
They look scarier back then now it’s just oh look at that cute thing
I don’t know why but the remakes models and environments give me a ‘unity store asset’/not made by the original devs’ vibe and I can’t say I like it.
Wait, the Squeakegs (Headcanon name for the exploding barrels) no longer tip toe? That's quite the downgrade.
the enemies of the ruins of the original version are the best. they are more creepy
Neat!
I definitely like King Galaxian's design in the original much more than the remake. He looks more menacing and less cartoony 😅
My idea for names of en3mies:

Toc-Man (Last Boss)
End.
The original have the best design
The new skeleton model kinda reminds me of Erwin now that I think about it.
Also, they really strayed away from the pac-man-shaped eyes, didn't they?
Never played the original, just got the remake, so this is pretty interesting.
Shame it wasn't a trilogy remake like Spyro and Crash got.
Imagine the OG skeletons in the new computer graphics. Might have been preferable to the newer bobble head ones. The mummies moved better in the OG as well. What are the new whirlwinds?
Pacman world 2 respected the skeleton design .. but the remake ..
I like how cheesy the original's sound effects were
Which version of toc man do u guys like more. Me: Re Pac Voice: OG
the graphics a and textures are great, but the animations are really stiff
Fire mask
The only issue I have (cause re-pac is a much lighter tone) is with the skeletons. I feel like their heads are just a bit too big and cover their clothes a bit too much.
I’m not a fan of how they shrunk the feet of many enemies, the animations are more stiff for the most part, the skeletons look more like aliens, and tbh the ghosts only look good when they smile, I’m not fond of the serene expression, make them seem docile and friendlier
The bosses tho, those are the complete opposite, except for maybe the clowns, those look like balloons compared to the slim creepy dudes with wobbly Afros from the original, but the race itself is cooler in the remake
I thought that since its a remake they would redesign the characters in line with the current pacman style and that would make them visually more interesting and engaging. But no, I'm sad.
At least they improved on the boss battles of the game.
I feel some Klonoa remastered vibes. Some games re gettin kinda rebooted and not remastered cuz the devs change much things that made the original memorable.
The statue of mummy T. rex
Should have kept almost everything in the original design but upgraded.... almost everything...

please don't be offended, repac's look like unfinished bettas, they lack color, movement... and I don't know they look so lively
I liked the original space boss way more sure he was hard as hell but repac just made him way to easy
Easy?
@@slystone4892 yea I had a much easier time with the remakes boss more than I did in the original

So nobody is going to talk about him as a literal Khrome Keeper, they don't look like anything between the two?, and honestly, the Re-Pac is much better than the Original for this boss, more specifically because of his battle style, which went from a boring and repetitive to a more moved, I do not know what you think, but for me, this is something that Khrome Keeper deserved

Original, always

Some of these updated animations are awful
Dumbed the game down wayyyy easier then the original. Everything feels slower
The original PS1 version for the first time is better then a newer version I don’t know what Namco’s thinking when the made this Pac-Man world on Xbox series X PS5 Nintendo Switch Steam no speaking in the game not the same intro this remastered version isn’t as fun as the PS1 the only difference is the achievements and trophies you unlock
