The Flåm Railway is a train journey between the villages of Flåm and Myrdal in Western Norway. It is frequently referred to as 'the most beautiful train journey in the world'. I've ridden the Flåm Railway dozens of times, and in this video I go over the important information you should know before you make the journey.

Best advice for this trip I’ve found. Thank you
Thank you so much. Lovely practical advice. I am going end of May this year (2023) and will be travelling alone. As an older person I have been worrying about being alone amongst groups of people pushing or just generally being inconsiderate, caught up in their own sightseeing. You have given great tips here I will definitely follow
Great info, thanks!
You were very helpful and appreciated
Excellent video! Thanks so much. I feel much better equipped to enjoy the trip this June :)
Great advice, traveled there in December and loved it so much I'm taking my wife and a friend's group back this summer.
This was so informative! Thank you

Wonderfully informative video and very appreciative for you effort. Love the cat ;-)
Amazing info. Will help us heaps. Thankyou . Looking forward to this trip in march.
This was very informative. It’s absolutely beautiful there!
Hello Emma, WOW! Another excellent video! You live in a beautiful country. I am visiting the Bergen are at the end of June/beginning of July 2022. It will be a great trip!
Check out Emma also on Heygo travel platform. Live streams from Norway.
Great Video! Thanks a lot for the details. Could you please give some inputs on managing luggage?
It is tricky but manageable with luggage. If travelling from Bergen - Oslo and overnighting in Flåm, you can use the service "Porter Service", which transports your luggage for you
Nice video. Cute cat
Hi my friend sending my full support here in pandan antique Philippines
Thank you so much for your video, it's really useful for me since I'm going to Bergen next week and I'd like to add a trip to Flam Railway. I just have a doubt: at the moment I have 2 options in mind: 1. Doing Norway in a nutshell tour form Bergen to Bergen (one day trip) or doing the flam railway by myself (train from Bergen to Myrdal, Flam railway and then back from Myrdal to Bergen again) and then doing the Cruise from Bergen to Mostraumen another day. Which option would you recommend?
Very interesting and thorough. One remaining question: how far is the Flam railway station from the cruise dock?
Thanks! This is very helpful. As a high season cruise ship visitor, one thing I am wondering about the round trip ticket is whether I can or should spend any time in Myrdal. I assume I will have a couple of hours of flexibility where I could explore there perhaps, but I am not sure what my ticket or the train schedules might permit.
Wow, thank u so much for the video!! I wish That I had watched before, we are going to flam in 1 week and now almost all sold out, but I have a question that you may can help me, I can see seats available on the way to Myrdal but to seats on the way back :( any tip? I checked on Vy website ;)
Also is possible to go back to Flam by taxi?
Thank you . Another great video on Norway. Very informative. One question about this railway line, is there any restrictions on luggage size and storage services ?? Thanks
No restrictions :)
Hi, im travel to Norway this Dec' 2024. (Winter)
From Oslo to Bergen and stay for few nights.
From Bergen to Flam and stay for few nights.
Lastly, from Flam to Oslo.
Question, how early can i book this booking?
Advance regards and thanks
This video is awesome! Thank you for sharing all this info. Slightly unrelated - do you think it's easier / more convenient to get to Geirangerfjord from Oslo or Bergen?
Thanks for your message. Both have challenges. I would recommend flying to Ålesund and driving from there.
We are headed to Norway (on one of those dreaded cruise ships!) in July. Flam railway has been on my list for the last 3 trips we’ve made to Norway, but the idea of fighting the crowds isn’t very appealing. We’d really like to find private guides where we can get off the beaten track a bit. We’d love any ideas you might have.
Please advise re wheelchair/mobility scooter carriage
Great job! you are wonderful!!! What is the cost to do just the Flam train? Thanks in advance.
It's about 650NOK but prices can vary slightly depending on the time of year or whether you do a round trip.
Hi hoping to ride the Flam railway this year. Is it owned and operated by the national Norwegian rail company as I might be entitled to discounted travel
Kjære Emma. Jeg hadde håpet at du ble stille etter hvert, men nei du, du dura i vei. Hadde håpet å se reisen, men den gang ei.
Hi
How long it would take to walk down from Myrdal to Flam?
Is it possible to book seat online and how much is the fare
Hi
What are the hours of operation?
🙏
I would like to ask if you would recommend to walk from Myrdal to Flam. I see rarely people doing it.
That would be about a 20km walk - not sure it's worth it. Bike/train is much nicer :)
Is it a round trip?
Hi emma thanks for the info. and it was very helpful. Can please let us know what are the number sit on the right side and can we book online?
Hello Maria, thanks for your message! There are no specific numbers, but sitting on the right is better for going up to Myrdal, while sitting on the left is better for going down to Flåm :)
@@TheHiddenNorth thank you so much Emma
Very high mountain
g'day, you sound like an aussie :)
Thank you! this is an excellent and really informative video! I feel much better equipped to enjoy the trip in noray :)!!
