my dad worked at Delphi for 33 years and lost his retirement when delphi shut down their plant here in Alabama in 2008. we went through some tough times and nearly lost our home. Dad was a manufacturing engineer who worked his way up from being a floor worker and machinist. He deserved every penny he earned. Not term limits... That would hurt the nation by forcing out the good ones as well. What we need is financial transparency. I'm not a fan of forcing candidates to reveal tax returns while running for office, but they should be required to divulge their taxes, campaign funds, PACs, and charities while they are on the taxpayer pay roll.
I fled the city 32 years ago and never looked back. There was so much crime, hate, excessive overgrowth and high costs even back then. Now the cities have tripled that at least. My area is mostly farm and cattle lands and haven't changed much for years but I've seen those closed industrial towns and sites. So sad the corporate bigwigs sold their people and this country down the river to China.

Criminals in the 90’s where just doing their job, it was not personal, today it is done with hatred. I'm in the financial industry and have clients now and then ask me about investing in hedge funds. I always flat out refuse. I will not have anything to do with them and I explain to people why. Making money on investments in solid or up and coming companies is good but making money at all costs no matter who you hurt is not.

A good Hedge fund finds a business with a good product or service that has either over invested, a little ahead of their time, or are in a temporary financial short fall. They provide the capital to get them through this period. Saving jobs and bringing goods and services to market. They may need to eliminate some jobs, but save others. They may have to change supply chains, or automate parts of the production to bring costs down. But they save businesses. Vulture Capitalism only buys in, either through Hedge funds or large amounts of their own capital (money) by buying up under valued stock (shares) liquidating assets, selling off brands, drastically reducing costs for a short term gain in stock value, and then dumping their stock right before it plummet into bankruptcy. This is not Capitalism. And most Capitalists do not support this. Capitalism is simply the exchange of goods and services between two parties, void of any coercion. Government rules, regulations, laws, and controls are all coercion. So there has been no "free market Capitalism for over 100 years. Control, tax or regulate a good or service and you distort that market. When large corporations, or the body politic distort a market, you have crony capitalism. When only the large corporations control the rule making and thus the market, you have corporatism. And neither of these is capitalism. Capitalism needs freedom and the right of personal ownership to work. Without freedom liberty, and personal ownership, capitalism can no longer exist. We have chipped away at Capitalism with minimum wage laws, environmental laws, trade laws, labor laws, zoning laws, as well as with OSHA, Unions, and EPA laws. Some of these laws are good. Like child labor laws, and certain laws for safety. Others only increase costs, or create paper work that can incur costs, but really help no one other than bureaucrats. To move further from capitalism is to move towards corporatism, crony capitalism, socialism, fascism or communism. America was built by capitalism. Its Republican government was designed to create a Government with minimum intrusion on our personal liberties and freedoms. This is what Capitalism needs to thrive. But today our Government has strayed from the Constitution, and our free market Capitalism has suffered. We are today at a point where either we reign in government, and embrace capitalism, or grow Government, and stifle capitalism. LG is global and not some new foreign corporation, it also just built a massive manufacturing plant in the US. Quality of life related regulation and other costs including the expensive rates of employing from a mostly educated population in the US make it very difficult to compete with products made over seas where those costs of production are less or non existent. As for Steel, China subsidized and produced a massive quantity of steel, far more then the demand for the time and then made it available on the world market and has done this for a long time. Supply and demand means the price for steel world wide plummeted and for private business in the US that needs to make a profit to exist staying in business for potentially years waiting for markets to normalize is often impossible without government aid. Steel production being vital to everything basically allowing the engine of industry to fall into decay and making the nation dependent on a resource like steel to a foreign source is a huge security problem that directly would weaken the military potential and ability to supply in a potential war in rapid time lost assets at least initially in any major conflict. It not about the quality of the metal, were not talking about specialized super alloys.. As for 'modernize' what the hell does that mean? You think the US doesn't have arc forges or massive presses? Failed to automate industry? Didn't produce in volume? It was private business vs the overproduction and saturation of a product on the markets done by the order of the China government that was making steel, just plain old steel, drop in value below what it cost to produce and move for a sustained time.

I fled the city 32 years ago and never looked back. There was so much crime, hate, excessive overgrowth and high costs even back then. Now the cities have tripled that at least. My area is mostly farm and cattle lands and haven't changed much for years but I've seen those closed industrial towns and sites. So sad the corporate bigwigs sold their people and this country down the river to China.

You are correct, crime rates are down from the ‘90’s. What has been missed is the crime today is extremely violent. Criminals in the 90’s where just doing their job, it was not personal, today it is done with hatred. The reason for the crime long ago was to take the victims stuff today it is to do damage physically to the victim. Now with the courts doing nothing to the criminal there is no point for the cops to put their lives at risk to arrest anyone. You are on your own, good luck out there.

When people talk about corporate greed, they don't seem to realize it's not the companies, it's the hedge funds. Hedge funds are the epitome of unadulterated greed.

I'm in the financial industry and have clients now and then ask me about investing in hedge funds. I always flat out refuse. I will not have anything to do with them and I explain to people why. Making money on investments in solid or up and coming companies is good but making money at all costs no matter who you hurt is not.
Not exactly. Many "Hedge funds" have saved businesses too. A good Hedge fund finds a business with a good product or service that has either over invested, a little ahead of their time, or are in a temporary financial short fall. They provide the capital to get them through this period. Saving jobs and bringing goods and services to market. They may need to eliminate some jobs, but save others. They may have to change supply chains, or automate parts of the production to bring costs down. But they save businesses.
Vulture Capitalism only buys in, either through Hedge funds or large amounts of their own capital (money) by buying up under valued stock (shares) liquidating assets, selling off brands, drastically reducing costs for a short term gain in stock value, and then dumping their stock right before it plummet into bankruptcy.
This is not Capitalism. And most Capitalists do not support this.
Capitalism is simply the exchange of goods and services between two parties, void of any coercion. Government rules, regulations, laws, and controls are all coercion. So there has been no "free market Capitalism for over 100 years.
Control, tax or regulate a good or service and you distort that market. When large corporations, or the body politic distort a market, you have crony capitalism. When only the large corporations control the rule making and thus the market, you have corporatism.
And neither of these is capitalism.
Capitalism needs freedom and the right of personal ownership to work. Without freedom liberty, and personal ownership, capitalism can no longer exist.
We have chipped away at Capitalism with minimum wage laws, environmental laws, trade laws, labor laws, zoning laws, as well as with OSHA, Unions, and EPA laws. Some of these laws are good. Like child labor laws, and certain laws for safety. Others only increase costs, or create paper work that can incur costs, but really help no one other than bureaucrats.
To move further from capitalism is to move towards corporatism, crony capitalism, socialism, fascism or communism.
America was built by capitalism. Its Republican government was designed to create a Government with minimum intrusion on our personal liberties and freedoms. This is what Capitalism needs to thrive. But today our Government has strayed from the Constitution, and our free market Capitalism has suffered. We are today at a point where either we reign in government, and embrace capitalism, or grow Government, and stifle capitalism.
That means we either return to our constitutional republic, or become socialist Communist or fascist. In other words Globalists. we either remain the greatest nation on Earth or just another country.
We need as many good reporters with actual balls as we can get! Thanks for the work you do!

Well, technically, he is not.
Is a host, a speaker. And the journalism part was achieved by its team. But I admit that he presented this part with professionalism and a very neutral view, almost as if the Dem/Rep clash was not his priority. This segment surprised me, as I assumed it was more likely to air on a more "democratic" channel.

PPl love to blame the rich. Trump said it during a presidential debate in 2016. He said that if we don't want him to be allowed to file so many bankruptcies, don't make so easy and legal to do. The result is that it is easier to create and grow a domestic business. So instead of the economic stagnation and decay we will instead see growth and prosperity.
Domestic Growth also has it's own side effects.
-More people hired to work
-The Domestic production becomes cheaper and more efficient as infrastructure is built leading to more supply in the market.
-Not dependent on foreign companies. Takes away power they could economically hold over America.
@@MrSebear American manufacturers did not put out crap. Also while Samsung is owned and many of the products it brands do get made in SK, most appliances are made in China, Poland, and Malaysia. LG is global and not some new foreign corporation, it also just built a massive manufacturing plant in the US. Quality of life related regulation and other costs including the expensive rates of employing from a mostly educated population in the US make it very difficult to compete with products made over seas where those costs of production are less or non existent. As for Steel, China subsidized and produced a massive quantity of steel, far more then the demand for the time and then made it available on the world market and has done this for a long time. Supply and demand means the price for steel world wide plummeted and for private business in the US that needs to make a profit to exist staying in business for potentially years waiting for markets to normalize is often impossible without government aid. Steel production being vital to everything basically allowing the engine of industry to fall into decay and making the nation dependent on a resource like steel to a foreign source is a huge security problem that directly would weaken the military potential and ability to supply in a potential war in rapid time lost assets at least initially in any major conflict. It not about the quality of the metal, were not talking about specialized super alloys.. As for 'modernize' what the hell does that mean? You think the US doesn't have arc forges or massive presses? Failed to automate industry? Didn't produce in volume? It was private business vs the overproduction and saturation of a product on the markets done by the order of the China government that was making steel, just plain old steel, drop in value below what it cost to produce and move for a sustained time.
