Pops, still alive, has a 62 orig owner unrestored and runs and drives barely. The restore price scared me, im buying the last of the NEW super charged challenger for half that! PS his car was NEVER reliable but sits for him to rememember his past.

not to mention his 1970 toyota Land Cruiser ,runs barely, but the memories.....nap time

What gearbox is this? Definitely not original... shifts too well

Was thinking the same thing! I own a 69 FHC (same color scheme) without the early Moss gearbox this SI came with and I can’t shift gears willy nilly like a Miata. I just heard the narrater say the gearbox was switched out to a 5 spd. For me, nothing like the original 4 speed gearbox though I’m very envious of the triple carb set up! Great looking car. Get rid of the silly digital radio, OMG!

Exhaust doesn’t sound like an E Type and neither does the box appear to be either .

Agreed, my '62 E-Iype had a VERY distinctive 'smooth-throaty sound; this one sounds 'tinny and high pitched'

Of course it could be the exhaust, mine suffered from a metallic resonance until I had it reset , the g/b however sounded strange .

Sadly from 2030 on all combustion cars including classics will be banned
from public streets in entire EU and Scandinavia :-( In Germany the
Green Peoples Party and Gretas FFF movement gave order to shorten fuel
supply from 2025 on by reducing all conventional fuel stations to only
one state operated central gas station per city or county. Now these
green heroes want to slow down all the gas station fuel pumps from 20
litre per minute to 2 litre per minute...From 2027 on in the EU certain
car spare parts will be banned too....as exhaust systems, turbo chargers
and even some engine and gearbox oils...California and New York will do
the same from 2027 on.... So no investments should be done in oil
burning cars any longer....They even created a new kind of crime here,
called emissions- and smoke crime :-( :-(

Lovely. They are hard to re-assemble without further issues.
I’m deciding to either keep my Moss 4 speed or get a more user friendly 5 speed instead.

I'm disappointed you didn't attend to the exhaust before you road tested it ! Very pretty though .

      I bought one exactly like this 1962 E-Type in 1964 (the original owner was a young man whose Dad bought it for him) BUT;
the son didn't like the manual shift, he wanted an automatic, so Daddy exchanged it for a Ford Thunderbird......I kid you not!
I paid...wait for it...$3,040.00 CDN, including taxes in 1964. Had to sell it after 6 years; I sure wish I owned it NOW!

Sorry Charles, I forgot about the colour; It is called British Racing Green (BRG), a Black/Green colour that is a VERY Dark Green,
the same colour is used on all of Jaguar's Racing Cars including the Formula One versions!
