See the definition change proposed in the Kerala State Electricity Regulatory Commission (Renewable Energy and Net Metering Second Ammendment Bill 2024, where in the section 2(1)(ii)(ama) the definition of Net Billing or met feed in has been changed. Rather bill proposes a chnage. After this bill aceepts, the import and export of power will be set off after multiplying with the unit rate fixed by them. The rate for purchas for KSEB is less than 3 where as high end consumers need to pay Rs.11 per unit. If you enquire the reason, the financials of KSEB is greatly affected by this solar project and their peak demand for power is increasing. The via median solution would be introduction of TOD meters.
