Straw and Stripe....STRAW I SAY!!!!!!! Saw Syd with Camper Van way too long ago in Cleveland. truly to this day. Still a perfect show(this is still opening for the campers). get to a semi-back stage with them directly off stage with THE WHOLE BAND. And while im talking to Dave Alvin from the BLASTERS(Humbled..Love X even more) Just hearing your perfect, deep.Higher then human...Notes. I am not punk anymore... Im Super interested to play with you or My band................
I had heard the song, but I hadn't seen the video until now. I really drives home the song's point: women were plenty ready to go out into the workforce, or frankly, to remain working in the workforce after World War II concluded. But, well, it just didn't work out that way. Funny how that sometimes happens. But hey! It's that time again! The future, its like the Forties!
You can see at the start this video was recorded from Rage, an Australian TV show. Someone there was either having a joke or didn't know what they were doing.
unfortunately, the future does look like the forties w/ #45 in the White House pretending to #MAGA. but I do love this song. Syd Straw and Michael Stipe? What's not to love?
August 26, 2021, where do you all see the “Me too” and “BLM” movement ? Isn’t it easy to just acknowledge talent and skill, regardless of sex, race, sexuality? We’ve gone and grown quite a distance in the wrong way from Sinead O’Conner, Liz Phair, Public Enemy, Beastie Boys, N.W.A. right? Eminem gave some hope. That’s fizzled, especially since this millennium, particularly from last year when fear exploded from COVID 19. This cancel/ fear/ racist culture needs no oxygen.
Wow. After all these years it's surreal to find out this is an actual song not just Michael Stipe improvising.
Mrs. Fingerwood and Captain Scrummy sing-a-long together?!? All I can say is WOW!!!
Syd Straw is a musical genius and a goddess.
Yeah, she's cute and talented.
One of my favorite records of the decade, and a great song off it. Never seen the video.
I LOVE THIS!! My favorite part of TOURFILM! THANKS FOR SHARING!
Everyone in Golden Palominos is formerly of Golden Palominos.
Wow. I love this
It's 2016. The forties look like the future.
Love this song. Syd's cover of Mission of Burma's 'That's When I Reach For My Revolver' is incredible. If only it were available!!

I always wondered where that opener came from,.......not no more. Cheers.
Memories and I told you!!!!😂❤
So good.
Sometimes, I listen to music.
It says "Michael Strype" on the video.
I got laughed at at a show on the Green tour for calling him that. I was new to the band and 14 and i thought thats what I read his name as
I would assume this is to avoid recording contract violations.
Michael took a break from R.E.M. to form Stryper.
