Honestly, I've always thought of Dynamo being more like Bass. He's a rival character with a similar color scheme(and helmet, what with the 2 side-crests), and likes to make fun of the heroes.

All the others are either faster paced & or have solid guitaring to amp you up. His has literally neither of those things haha.

The Repliforce were in pretty open rebellion with the humans. I mean, they did this BECAUSE the people turned against them, but still, the General didn't need to stage a war for independence, and the Colonel didn't need to stubbornly refuse dropping his weapons. They're not terrible people, but they're still Mavericks by the definition of "fighting against humanity".
Perhaps, but the Maverick Hunters fight for humanity. By opposing them, they oppose the protectors of humanity. You wouldn't say you aren't fighting the law, just the cops either. Besides, Double is just padding so we'd get to have a boss-fight for X when Zero has his Iris boss-fight in his campaign. If either of those two should get a spot it's Iris, she had an actual effect on the hunter she fought. But the truth is neither should get it, because Colonel deserves that spot by having more depth, a cooler design and the better boss-fight. Seeing Neon Tiger get a spot rather than Slash Beast was the surprise to me.

I gonna have to disagree on Blaze Heatnix. I love his look and stage music too, but good god, his stage was a pain, and that’s putting it lightly (as were most in X6), and his fight was admittedly boring. Once I beat him I was just glad it was over, instead of being happy I beat the boss. But again, that was a recurring theme of X6 ( looking at you, Gate). Also never figured out why Vile was green instead of purple in X8. I loved the fights against him but that bugged me.
I like Wheel Gators too, and what do ya know, Gators were my high school mascot and I lived in Florida. You are the first person to mention that Wheel Gators " psycho crusher spin" was based on the Aligators deathroll
For me, my number 1 Maverick of the X series is definitely Crush Crawfish from Mega Man X3(or Scissors Shrimper from Rockman X3, if you're Japanese). I love his stage theme, his boss battle, his design, and his weapon is AWESOME!!!

The best maverick is Flame Mammoth. No hands down. He breaks all the conventions. First of all he's a Mammoth which are typically portrayed with ice powers. Like Mamoswine from Pokemon. Not this BAMF. He's a mammoth and he's fiery as shit. Second his size cannot be contained. Normally size can be contained, but not this guy. He breaks all the conventions. Third, he can kill you after you cut his face off. People normally die when you cut their face off. Not this guy. he breaks all the conventions. The entire list should be 10 reasons why Flame Mammoth is the greatest character to ever grace the megaman franchise ever. That would break all the conventions.

I understand how Dynamo, Vile, etc are Mavericks, but damn...the animal based ones are where it’s at. Love this video! I'd have thrown Elpizo onto this list somewhere, though. In an age where "Maverick" was reduced to an overused meaningless political label, Elpizo reminds you what a true Maverick is, blowing up the original X's body to further his own thirst for power and destroy those pesky humans who make Reploid lives hell. I thought Elpizo as a villain/character overall was overrated, but it's so refreshing to fight a true Maverick in the Zero series.

Legit tears when Zero sacrificed himself to destroy Vile's armor so you FINALLY had a fair fight with him. My 6 year old heart was not ready.

The best maverick is Flame Mammoth. No hands down. He breaks all the conventions. First of all he's a Mammoth which are typically portrayed with ice powers. Like Mamoswine from Pokemon. Not this BAMF. He's a mammoth and he's fiery as shit. Second his size cannot be contained. Normally size can be contained, but not this guy. He breaks all the conventions. Third, he can kill you after you cut his face off. People normally die when you cut their face off. Not this guy. he breaks all the conventions.

Nice list. Always curious to see other fans picks for top Mavericks. Only thing personally I would love to see is a top list of the animal based Mavericks only. I understand how Dynamo, Vile, etc are Mavericks, but damn...the animal based ones are where it’s at. I swear I love them more than any other characters in the X series or MegaMan franchise as a whole. They typically have the raddest designs too!

Love this video! I'd have thrown Elpizo onto this list somewhere, though. In an age where "Maverick" was reduced to an overused meaningless political label, Elpizo reminds you what a true Maverick is, blowing up the original X's body to further his own thirst for power and destroy those pesky humans who make Reploid lives hell. I thought Elpizo as a villain/character overall was overrated, but it's so refreshing to fight a true Maverick in the Zero series.
