What a tutorial, very nice! I'm a little bit confused about those labels... When you purchase those labels, does that money goes to the actual post office or to Etsy, are those shipping fees, but you pay them online not in the post office, or do you need to purchase labels first and then to pay shipping fees in the post office?!
When you buy the label you don't have to pay at the post office. You do still need the packaging though.

Where do you get your label paper? What should I look for when buying it? and does it work the same as when putting regular paper in a printer? Very helpful video :)
We just buy half sheet labels off amazon, looking for the cheapest price per unit when you buy and yes you can put in a regular printer, laser printers do have the cheapest black ink

A few quick questions, if you, for example, are selling a scrunchie, which is like a circle, what do you put for the size? Also, if you don't add the weight and the size what will happen? Lastly, if you'r weight and size are not 100% accurate, what will happen? Hope you can help answer some of my questions!

Some people sell different size scrunchies some people do one size for all, you want to weigh your total item with its packaging and add that to your shipping profile so it calculates it correctly. If you under weigh it and buy the label it is fine etsy will adjust the cost and charge you later for it so its not a big deal. But you want to try to get it accurate.

I'm hoping you can help me Hannah. I'm in Australia and setting up an Etsy Shop. I can't get past the shipping steps because I have a different set up than the USA site and there's no help on UA-cam for Aussies. My issues is they want actual postage costs put in but it's impossible when I don't know what the item will be. Never seen anything so confusing as this shipping section on Etsy. SOS help help help!

If it’s to the same address for the same person, then you could put it all under one label and add the tracking to the second order so you don’t have to buy two

This was so helpful! Thank you! 😊 Maybe a dumb question, but there's one thing I'm confused about. If I have free shipping on $35+ and someone has an order for UNDER $35 but they want Priority, will the customer pay the shipping fee or will it show up as free to the customer? I know it should be the customer footing the bill up till that $35 mark, but I don't really see any settings for this in the shipping profiles. Then follow up question would be if their order total is OVER $35 and they choose Priority, I'm responsible for the full payment? Or would the customer pay the difference? I'm sorry if that's confusing. I've had my shop since 2013, but I'm coming out of a very long vacation mode and trying to refresh and set up my shop again. Thanks for the great content! ☺
I actually found the answer. For anyone else looking for this answer, I found it on Etsy Help articles under "How to Offer Free Shipping". This is what it says: "If a buyer chooses to purchase shipping upgrades, they will be charged for those even if their order qualifies for free shipping."

I still haven't really figured out the shipping side of things yet. My question is, I do not have my own packaging... Do I need to select from the USPS options? It's pretty much double the price.

When a customer orders 1 shirt, the shipping through USPS is around $5. When, they order more than 1, it jumps up to almost $9. My question is, when I get to the shipping label part, do I select from my own packaging, or from the USPS packaging options? Because it's pretty much $8 for a small box through USPS, but I can get it for around $5 if I select 'My Own Packaging' and input the dimensions @@EcomHannah
Hi Hannah, great video, very clear! Had a question - is there a reason why package pickup isn't more popular among store owners? USPS seems to offer it for free, but I don't see many store owners talk about it.
I honestly have never tried it but I was curious about it too. Maybe because it’s faster to do a drop off and get it checked in right away not sure

etsy does not ship your items for you that is not how it works

Can you make a video explaining how to combine multiple items in one box? So the customer does not have to pay shipping for say 10 items in 10 separate boxes when they can all fit in one. How do you do this along with using calculated shipping. I have this problem right now and can’t find anyone with straight answers. Please help. Thank you .
Ok so I’ve asked this question on multiple videos and have not received an answer. What I did was cancel all 9 labels and put all 10 items in one box, updated the right weight and done. Refunded the customer the difference. Sometimes you just have to figure it out on your own I guess.

How is your video any different from 100s of other videos of people claiming they did X amount of money but never share the proof, and is only a segway to sell their courses.

Plus, on all your social media platforms and your website, there's no link to see or go to your Etsy shop. If you were selling so much, wouldn't you be promoting it everywhere possible?

Some of her videos get like +1M views. If 1% of those people copied her Etsy shop, her strategies, keywords, etc. Thats 10,000 people that are now competing in her niche. I wouldn’t hand out that information for free either.

It depends how you set it up, you can set it up for any scenario you want, whether you pay all, the buyer pays all or your cover some and they cover some

Is that usually an issue with buyers cause I feel like they would argue that there was a set shipping fee that they already paid for and would wonder why there was a change. @@habooyaaa If you have an account I recommend to play with the shipping profile settings so you can see what I am talking about. The shipping can be calculated for them based on how many units they order, location, etc and that price changes based on weight and size of the item. You can opt to set it to a flat rate also where you eat some of the cost or offer free shipping all together but some niches it is better to not offer free shipping so you can show a cheaper price on the front end
If you offer free shipping does Etsy take the shipping cost out of the actual sale you made to cover it?
When you buy the shipping label from etsy when you fulfill an order that will get deducted from your payout

what about drop shippers to USA or china, what about SKU, did etsy recognize SKU/TRACKING NUMBER that this item is coming form china, portugal or USA
Dropshipping as in print on demand or something like that usually if you’re using a company like Printify the SKU will already get uploaded for you

If you choose calculate them for me does it calculate how much the shipping is for the product or products automatically ? How do you estimate the shipping price also how do you determine which mail carrier to choose ?
Yes if you are charging for shipping and press calculate for me then its going to try to charge the exact rate that it is going to cost you.
If you are in the USA USPS is going to be the cheapest for most packages, but you can play with the weights and see your options

So I sell in bundles, one of the flaws with Etsy is that if I sell something that has 3 items in 1 variation option it wont pick up the proper weight/ price so I have to adjust manually. But hopefully you see how you can adjust manually from the video

we personally drop it off but you can do scheduled pick ups if your office is in a safe place for the pick up

I’m confused on a lot of things but I feel that once I get started and watch this video more it will help but I do not get the whole shipping method process and price of that and what you are paying for vs what the person who bought the item is paying for. Also will my address be shown on the shipping label? Like is it necessary to show an address because I am nervous about having to use my home address. (I just wanna sell stickers for reference). Super handy video though I’ll be doing more research!

If you do not want to show you address you can get something called a registered agent and all your mail will be forwarded to you from there and you can use this as your public business address

HELP…I need to do 2 separate labels from 1 etsy order because 2 items from the order are free shipping and 1 of the items was calculated shipping…I can’t ship them together because they’re large items and the cost would be outrageous.

When you bring it to the post office you need them to scan them right then and there, or scan a scan form and give it to the post office so they all get scanned form

I've had that once, it's a non verified adress. I just sent it anyways. Maybe thats why i got the payment reserve. But its not my fault, how can i know?
No this is normal and not the reason your payment went to reserve it is common for etsy to hold money if you are new seller.

Well I would say there are thousands of hours of free information and strategy on my channel outside my course which is the real value for your own business.... not my numbers. If you have ever built a business and understand Etsy you would understand the value of hiding your intellectual property like most you-tubers that actually have successful brands and are running them at the same time we do not share that intellectual property for that reason. As I have had people go straight from my channel and steal my exact images and designs with out even trying to be an entrepreneur. Surely if you are an entrepreneur you would understand. I am screen sharing live in my videos straight from my account which is as valuable as it gets when you learn from inside someone business not to mention is free lol....
My best advice if you are skeptical that all these youtubers lie is...
1. figure it out on your own and do not seek social media for Free value or info

I will definitely figure out in my own. This video was a part of the process. And definitely learned the lesson, of what NOT to do. And got it solidified by the language you are using.
Like I said earlier, no hard feelings, but again just fluff and no proof.
You can definitely write a big paragraph again and have a great comeback, but without actually data and proof that you actually showing that you own the sho and the sales, it’s very skeptical for any person who can put 2 and 2 together.
