My goodness. It's the holy grail of wheel/tire fitment for my actual car. How do you not have a million subscribers? Thank you sir for putting this out there.
I have a 72 chevelle and run the same rear size but going to update from my 18x9 5.250 bs front with a 285 35 18 tire,to the 18x10.5 5.5 bs that tony g is running on his 70 chevelle. I'm using the whole speedtech arms, chicane mount, afx spindles, but making a custom splin3d. Swaybar like Alan Miller's 70 chevelle that he had, with the stock frame.
Awesome, sounds like quite the setup! Youre using some awesome chevelles as reference points! I’ll likely move to a splined sway bar at some point in the near future.
I have 275 squared on my 68 GTO. I am thinking about 315s again and stumbled across your video. The more I think about it the more I'm willing to do whatever body modifications necessary.
@@TheOldsmobeast I understand the paint and body on your car is much better than mine. What do you think about the Cost of tires/wheels vs the performance gained?
@@punishergto5182 Hard to say exactly how much performance was gained since I never had laptimes or data to reference from the old setup. There definitely is a noticeable difference, however whether or not the increase is worth it comes down the individual! For what I’m doing with the car, the cost vs performance was worth it, but for some people it may not be.
Wow i just subscribe to your chanel that car is so awsome and that blue man oh man its so spot on what is it any color codes or is it a custom mix ? It makes the wheels pop i love it
Yep, we opened up the wheel wells so that they sit flush against the frame, but the car isn't mini tubbed at all. With a 315 on a 20" wheel you may have clearance issues that I didn't though, as the tire is going to be taller than what I use.
Getting ready to start on a 71 convertible.....ur brilliant, thank you for helping everyone out.
No problem, glad you found it useful!

It’s definitely a cool setup, I have no regrets doing it on my car, and would’ve done more fabrication work had it been needed!

Thanks! The color is called Twilight Blue. Its a factory Oldsmobile color from 1970
Hella informative bruh 😎
Thank you! Hope this helps 👍🏻
Did you have to notch the frame or shorten the rearend to fit those?
Nope! It’s factory wheel wells that we had to massage a little bit in the inside, and a factory width rear end!
Hella informative *
* * * I REALLY WISH SOMEONE WOULD DO THIS STYLE VIDEO WITH A 68-72 CHEVELLE * * *
I HATE STAGGERED SETUPS !
Also cool your doing a old school engine, and not an LS like everyone.
Haha that may change in the near future!
315 18" fit on the rear without u having to mini tub, because I wanna try 315 20" on my rear 71 0lds cutlass S, but I don't want to mini tub it
