- BOAT SPEEDS THROUGH NO WAKE ZONE!! Throws Wake At Passing Boats | Point Pleasant Canal
If you are familiar with this area and boating, you probably know how nasty the canal can get on the weekends.
This is a no wake/safe speed zone. This boat was going WAY TOO fast.

Thank god that Grady @6:50 has his radar on, wouldn't want him to get lost lmfao
Good Afternoon All: Another great rock & roll video of the Point Pleasant Cannal. That Tidewater vessel was definitely overloaded & I would bet that there weren't enough PFD'S for everyone on board. That Canal has some wicked currents for those toy bowriders. Great job guys, TMP from N.J.
Boaters that think that going the speed limit through a 'no wakezone' is taking too much time have no idea about the pleasure of boating.
Love to see you travle through that area with no wake as rough as it is. Sounds like you have no clue about boating let alone pleasure.
@@bighugejer12341exactly what I'm saying, everyone on this stupid channel is convinced that's a no wake zone
Mystery boat looked like a four winns from the early 90’s
Yeah, those engine compartment vents were pretty distinct if I remember correctly.
Those Whaler 13's are amazing little boats.
Ahhh… now I know what ‘no wake zone’ means… it’s simply means that captains are asleep at the helm! 😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣
pontoons in the canal scare the shit out of me
It does not look like the canal is a “No Wake” zone. Too many boats are cruising through at planing speed. I did not see anybody trying to obey the law as I would have done, if it’s a true “No Wale” zone.
Lol pretty much the Occoquan River to the Potomac is all “no wake” zone. There was some dude that lived on one of the condos on the upper floors and he’d get on the radio and yell at boaters. “Slow down, this is a no wake zone!”
Sometimes you got to power through. From the looks of it no wake speeds will get you in a bad situation there.
I live south of that inlet. Tried it once and never again. I felt like I was on the parkway all the up to that inlet from 37 bridge.
That’s and older wellcraft nova
huh, could be...it looks like it says Tiara right at the base of the windshield behind the GPS antenna. Hard to read....
Depending on the boat id say screw that no wake. My boat would get swamped in there if I wasn’t running bow up or on plane
First boat wasn't even registered LOL
Ever flip them off?
Looks like if they put a Police boat in that area they'd make a few thousand dollars a day writing tickets. LOL
The boat name was Nivation II the boat make is a wellcraft
I'd live to see if they go that fast past the coast guard/ state police station. Should put a second camera down there to see
You know they don't when it comes to that end they slow down that water way can be a monster at tide change
Don't be to hard on them, until you navigate the canal! It's like running swelling rapids at times. Even the marine police, and CG, power thru at tides
Then after you survive the canal, now you get to navigate the Manasquan Inlet out into the Atlantic! You definitely need a drink somedays
Prime example of plowing instead of boating
Either he doesn't know or (most likely) doesn't care. There are signs saying NO WAKE ZONE...they're hard to miss.
Yep, both are bad.
MYSTERY BOAT 🤣
Driven the canal hundres if not more times, even back when their was a small and very dangerous bridge on the Manasquan river side. That capt going with the current was def going too fast, going against the current you need the power and can make a wake IMO. Sometimes against the tide the only way thru is to power up..
They're going fast because of the current , otherwise they'd never get through.
Not the first boat. He didn’t need to go half that speed
@@ShoreBoats the very first boat is throwing a huge wake…. I mean he ain’t moving fast but it’s a big boat and he running throttle like any sensible guy would in that.
I had a cottage on a small river which is part of a canal system. Has a 6 mph and no wake zone. My neighbors and I had enough of our boats bouncing off our docks. Just down the river, we have a huge brush lot. we went there with our paintball guns and practiced at fast moving objects on the river. We did some pretty nice paint designs on some hulls. Awesome modern art. Word got around but no one could prove who it was, But things slowed down.
I hope someone played your stupid game with you with a real gun
If this is a true, designated, 'No Wake Zone. then it's one of the most ignored and least enforced, least patrolled one I've ever seen.
A vessel is responsible for their wake. It's a fine of about 350 bucks, and a law suit if someone gets hurt because of their wake.
I was a lobsterman for thirty two years and we would chase a boat down if they rolled us badly. It was a pain in the neck, knifes, lobster measures, lobsters, cokes and water landing on the deck. That's my rant for the day...lol
Alllleeezzz l'OM DADDY 💜💜💜💜
No wake, no fuucks
Where is this...???
Looks like "Murder Mile" in Boca!!
it's August and a nice stretch of weather and this canal is going to be hopping. Too bad there is so much chop.
Sitting up front in this canal is not the best idea, get behind the console at center line of boat.
Or if you don't like your MIL, have her sit up front. Tell her it's the best spot....
Some interesting boats went out. That Darlington acted like nothing was there as it cruised on by.
Week End boaters, create the most havoc on the water. Don’t obey the rules of navigation and don’t care about you , on any size boat.
My drunk neighbor would throw beer bottles at them...
Hell they all are. Where is the wardens at. !!
I've never heard of an "Arlington" boat . Looked like a Viking what a gorgeous vessel !
Sorry, should’ve been “Garlington”
Shore boats meant 61 Garlington.
@@jerryv.7007 OK. Never heard of them either. Sure would like to be on one though!
@@ShoreBoats Yup, I never heard of them before. I was trying to look them up. Thanks.
It amazes me how many Not Captain Captains tend to let children sit on the bow in a place where you should keep the bow up!
This is a confused statement, Wake does not equal speed, many boats plow! at low speeds, not to mention that canal looks so rough if you drove actually super slow, you would stuff the bow. Take a ski boat it makes zero wake at probably 10mph, but will plow at 5, Making a wake, a jet-ski makes zero wake at a descent rate of speed, but plows at low speed. Wake means Wave! The Canal looks super busy, stay of it if your boat cant handle it. Sorry!
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
That just looks miserable. I can only imagine the erosion happening
They should have someone there not just to film but to uphold the no wakey
" Sail boat", sounds so romantic. Power boat does not. Had my " power boat" since 07. Never had a problem. Got some friends, had to get the sail boat. Bottomed the keel, ended up injured. No thanks, no romance for me.
What is the posted speed limit?
mystery boat maybe mid 80s wellcraft or liberator?
Maybe. I recall the distinctive slotted engine vents. I can't 100% recall what they came on. Maybe a FourWinds?
Dude I deal with this shit behind AC all the time. You should've seen the wahoo I got in my skiff last weekend. Almost 52lbs 😂😆😂. I'm a 16ft starcraft. I was out around the 28 mile wreck then worked inshore and had it hit a ballyhoo North of the ridge. It was epic. I was solo too.
It looks to me like there is no reason for a no wake zone there. I’m glad to see Americans exercising there moral obligation to disregard overbearing laws and oppression. Bravo.
If anything they should focus their attention on overloaded booze cruises
Imagine thinking you're smart enough to make this comment with any credibility, when actually you're just a shining Dunning Kruger example.

I have seen the sea calmer than that canal.
No enforcement = no rules. -C
I have boated on a lot of canals around the world and never seen one as rough as that one. Boats need to have some headway on and how much depends on the hull. the numbers of boats will also cause chop. Even the Suez canal does not have these conditions, wind yes but the dredge material is formed into embankments to reduce this. The lakes in Holland again do have it but I have not experience it on the canals, can someone tell me why here. Thanks.
Yeah, I’d like to know why it’s so rough too. It’s not open, at either end, to the ocean.
@@Slithey7433 There is up to 2 knot tide and when a lot craft are battling it. they throw up a chop. I always used the tide on the tidal section of the River Thames UK. But craft going against it throw up a wake.
Where is the Coast Guard? Isn't patrolling these areas part of their job?
ALMOST as exciting as watching paint dry!!!
Every Boat there was faster than NO WAKE !!!
Can we ackowlege the guy at 1:08 knows how properly traverse. On plane with just enough speed and weight out of the front
They all going to fast
they all contribute to the wake large and small. a paint gun would do th job to slow them down
Poor sailboat only has a tiny motor
Plus it's a displacement hull. Not designed for speed.
I just had a friend get ran over last week, sitting fishing about 30yrds off shore lost boat, all his gear acquired over 30yrs of fishing. PEOPLE WAKE UP PAY ATENTION. your boat does not have any breaks.
If my boat did have breaks I’d be afraid of taking on water
No one patrolling?
I always wondered with power boaters if it is because lack of boat rules, and safety training, lack of education or common sense or simple disrespectful and self entitlement behavior... so sad.
Probably all of the above. Inland lakes are filled with imbeciles like this, especially on PWCs. It's the biggest reason I won't get back out on the water.
Lol, you act like his wake is 1/10th of what current does when the tide changes.
Start suing. Courts ruled at least since 2015 boats are responsible for their wake. Also, a much harsher enforcement is needed./
WHERE ARE THE LAW MEN
I feel bad for the guy in the blow boat
It’s common for one to show up that the rules don’t apply to, it’s all about me and I’m all that matters. Makes me wish I had a badge, I would tazer then tax the bum.
If you ever went through this canal you'd know how bad it can get with the current. Changing of the tide will make bigger waves then whining about you wake.
Yeah no joke. A little splashing is way less than what the current does.
That's just a little wake, my Sundancer is a Tsunami generator. But I have this rare desecration called respect! Those ass holes should be banned from the channels.
I can't see what the problem is, surely everyone knows that laws are not for the privileged few who can do whatever they like.
THAT'S A NO WAKE ZONE...?!!??!! I DON'T THINK SO...🤨
Yep, click bait title
Supposed to be
@@Bubbles99718 - Not click bait. The canal is posted clearly as a no wake zone. The first boat was definitely producing more wake than is reasonable. When going against the current there’s gotta be some common sense regarding enforcing the rules, but down current,,,,,,. First boat, the one in the thumbnail attached to the video and title was definitely producing too much wake.
The canal also prohibits jet skis. If everyone, especially the larger boats did whatever they wanted, that canal would be so much worse.
Anyone else feel the need to foul their props with ski line?
Some people are ignorant
It would be raining lead weights if he came by me that fast
Really, the title of this should be: 'Another example of stupid America'
People who hang American flags off their boats make me laugh. I’ll bet they couldn’t even recite the Bill of Rights 😆
