Homie, you don’t have to try and make yourself sound credible by saying Sonic music isn’t really “good” music. It is good. Sonic music is genuinely really good.
My favorite genre of video is ppl passionately explaining video games on a flat surface while moving their hands around to really emphasize what they're saying. Also the vinyl records look so cool :0
I had the dreamcast versions first, so I thought the DX and Battle games were off, even as a kid, only to find out all the technical stuff later as an adult. but nothing hits the nostalgia harder for me than hearing *vrrr vrrr* "get a load of this!" *vrrr vrrr* "get a load of this!" *vrrr vrrr* "get a load of this!" lol
I’d consider both games at their best on pc with mods, but if I had to rank all versions of the game PC (with a massive load of mods) Dreamcast GameCube PC (without mods)
Sonic Adventure 1 on Dreamcast isn't just my favorite 3D Sonic game, but one of my favorite games of all time. It's a beautiful game with heart and revolutionary for its time with all the Chao, the incredible graphics for their time, and VMU stuff etc, releasing in 1998. It's to me what Mario 64 was for the 64, SA was for the Dreamcast.
This popped up on my feed. It's a good thing it did. I got a few things to say. I owned a dreamcast 9.9.99. The controller set the standards on playability, which is why Xbox and PS noticed and started to tweak their controllers to it's likeness. The cool things about SA1+2 if you owned a VMU ( which was hard to acquire in (99 -2000.). They would unlock mini games you could play while at school like the Chao garden, for instance. It was sort of like a Tamagachi game. Nevertheless, ahead of its time. The soundtrack for SA2 my God was it phenomenal. When the game dropped, I couldn't stop playing it. Fun fact in SA2 Sonic is wearing Soaps( Shoe company that put grinding pads at the bottom of their shoes). They actually made pairs of shoes that you see on Sonics feet in limited quantities in the 2000s. That's why you see adverts for soap in the dreamcast version. Not the GameCube mess😂
The VMUs were totally worth owning with various colors to choose from. Ah, the good old days. I'm looking into investing in a JPN Dreamcast console. To add to my collection.
I bought a Dreamcast to play Sonic Adventure 2, but long after its prime. I lost my GameCube copy of the game, and my PC wasn't powerful enough to emulate the game back then. I tried Chao World, but it feels a little empty compared to the GameCube one, and I had to play the Chao Adventure 2 VMU game to get as many fruits and seeds as possible.
At least in your opinion. I actually prefer the DX look for SA1 mainly because everything's took dark in the Dreamcast original. I think the Dreamcast art style is overrated. Like it feels like cloudy weather at all times even in Emerald Coast, Chao Garden or Twinkle Park. Plus skippable cutscenes and bonus content on top of that.
I played both on original hardware and can't say I agree. Dreamcast is 30 fps and has slow loading. Sure gamecube is worse looking but 60 fps can't be beat. And the controller is so much better. Best way to play nowadays is on pc with mods.
True the GameCube controller really is a killer. I think overall just the vibe of playing it on the Dreamcast with an old CRT is the experience I prefer over the GameCube experience, but they really are close
@@WhyIOwnThis I totally get you. The Dreamcast version looks awesome on a CRT. I played mine on a 29-inch trinitron. I just dislike how this fandom's opinions change based on trends. You see one video saying how DX is a bad port, and then everybody is saying that the Dreamcast version is so much better while never actually playing it. Same as how everyone thinks that Colors is a bad game. People need to form their own opinions about things. Like I totally get that the Dreamcast version is much better looking. But I 100 percent prefer playing DX on the GameCube for quality of life changes and 60fps.
60FPS can be beat when it does not actually work correctly. The reason modded PC is best is because it retains the 60 while also actually working correctly(Mostly. A few weird edgecases remain).
I guess I wasn't clear in the fact that I love this music to death, I just don't think of it as critically fantastic music, but I may be wrong in that!
Best way to play Sonic Adventure is the PC version with the Mod Manager and Dreamcast restoration mods installed, that's what I did and I had a blast playing through the game despite its flaws

100% facts. Sonic music is BRILLIANT. I can even acknowledge that the music I don't like is amazing.

Then I'm CRUSHIN it
Now that you’ve said it, I can’t not be overly conscious of it loool
He definitely has Scott the woz mannerisms lol.
I agree. The Dreamcast versions were superior. I just wish we got the metal sonic award in the Dreamcast version of Sonic Adventure.

Dreamcast

Realest thing I’ve seen all day
TBH you don't even need that many mods for the PC version to be better than Dreamcast.
When you said that you never realized there was a first game i felt that in my soul 😂

Shout out to everyone who was blessed with a Gamecube on December 25, 2002!
The Mario Sunshine bundle lets gooooo
Another great video, thanks for sharing :D
I just bought a Dreamcast today online, just so I can play SA1 on it, cause its just better than the DX port
I swear Sonic controls better on Dreamcast in SA2.
i feel like if you like the chao garden alot then you just want to raise kids and have a family
Adventure 2 Battle was the guest GameCube game I ever had, it made my childhood
eggman never blew up the moon. He used his super laser piss. HE PISSED ON THE MOON!

I thought this was, like, universally accepted as true?
Probably! Just talking about my experiences here
It took almost a decade tbh, most people just assumed the original was as bad as DX but it’s actually a wonderful game
Well done video. The title and simple tumbnail got me
Ah, fellow hands only channel it seems!
Yeah I got to attend the symphony in minnesota it was PEAKKKKKK
The best way to play Dreamcast games is VGA, imo. It supported 480p right out the bat! Looks great still on modern TVs with a VGA→HDMI solution.
Might have to give this a shot!
It is indeed

Never had the opportunity to play the Sonic Adventure series, thank you for sharing! Ordering Sonic Adventure DX rn
That melody in the background is so Neo-Soul chill music. 🤔 💭 it sounds familiar
Just from my typical royalty free music site!
Dreamcast has much better lighting textures and miles better controls
wait till he finds out about the modded PC version
I have 2 copies of Sonic Adventure 2 on Dreamcast and 2 for Gamcube and the HD Version’s on the Xbox
This a great video for only 62 subs have a sub
Really great video and channel!
4:36 the lighting engine was beautiful, dx just killed it and changed it to vertex based lighting
For some reason I also played Sonic The Hedgehog 2 in daycare? Probably around 2000/2001
