Was given a 1991 Bayou 220 recently. It's no cream puff and hasn't been run for years but it's all there and worth tearing into to see if there's still some life left in it for not too much $$. I've got some grandkids that are just old enough to begin learning how to ride so it may make a good machine to start them out with and if they like it move up to newer and nicer machines Your video was very well done. And that little barn find Bayou of yours was actually in better condition than most bikes that are left out in the sun and weather. Thanx for you video and the tips on working on a Bayou 👍.
Thanks a lot for the compliment, it sounds like you have the perfect project on your hands for those grandkids. The bayou is a perfect machine for them to learn on. Light, nimble, bulletproof and easy to steer. Yes this one actually was pretty decent, ive had some that looked a lot worse myself. Keeping stuff inside makes all the difference as you said, it really helps keep the plastic from fading, it keeps the seat from weathering and even helps keep the tires from dry rotting. Thanks for the comment and good luck with your project!
Hey. It may be a lil small for big guys like us but it still looked like a fun ride. I've got a 99 220 I traded some work for it'll be my first 4 wheeler.
Hello, i hope i understand your question correctly. Yes you should be able to buy new body pieces for your bayou, but they might be kind of expensive. If you could buy used on Ebay or local to you, it would be cheapest.
I have one thats a 300 but it starts and runs just if you arnt going anywhere and it sits running it will heat up and shut off and the wont start back up till it is cooled down what could my isue be? Any help would be great thanks
the racks are always bent, and i bets it's not just the bayou either, how much beer do ATV riders drink? EDIT: lol towards the end of the video also explains that too, people probably to wench them and pull shit from them too. i might have to try that trick to straighten my new to me rack.
That was a good find. She's running good now. Nice wheelie too. lol
Nice find. The bayou is a good project atv. Parts are pretty cheap and easily found.
Thanks, they have definitely been around long enough that they're easy to get parts for and theyre tough little machines as well
Got my boy a 2001 220. These things are great wheelers! They're tanks!
Solid machine
