Here's some amazing tips: -When you learn to parry you'll become 5 times stronger than without parrying. -Soloman is the best for parrying, mostly because he has a lot of resolve compared to the other characters and he is the strongest most balanced character. He has maximum amount of resolve, has a good amount of health and stamina. I recommend him and the hammer and chisel for really fast and strong attacks and when you combine harden and parry you'll be invincible with him. -Having one of the R1 and L1 attacks with the hammer and chisel will get you insane amount of Damage because you can spam your attacks and before an enemy or boss attacks you harden and proceed to finish all of your stamina and before they hit you again you hit them with R1 and L1 attack which will turn you invincible and will give you insane damage. I've reached 600-700 damage just through that small tactic which easily destroys bosses. I recommend the first hammer and chisel R1 L1 attack (Blade Tornado) because the other one is for long distance. -Do not rush and study the movements and the attacks of the characters by dodging or hardening when they are attacking. This way it will be easier to learn when to parry. -Knowing the locations of all of the mushrooms in the main map ( area where you do not have to enter through a door that puts you in a loading screen) will make farming a lot easier and less of a waste of time to wait 5+ min for it to regenerate. -Watch youtube videos on the combos of your preferred weapon because you'll be able to do a lot more damage. -Even if Hammer and Chisel is a close range weapon you can still damage multiple enemies if they are bunch together, add a little fast attack and you're a killing machine. -Before picking one of the 3 sacred glands make sure to have a lot of healing mushrooms because those extra enemies will be troublesome if you run out of heals. -You can always avoid enemies because they won't be able to catch you and damage you if you run and dodge. -Become familiar with all 4 shells before spending glimpses to upgrade them -Glimpses do not transfer between shells. So play with the one that suits you the most -Use heavy attacks when starting a fight cause those enemies that are chilling on the ground will take some time to stand up and attack you. Preferably heavy, light light. -Using parry and attack is recommended to get easy health against easy enemies
I found this game quite hard. I've not played anything like this before so the mechanics of fighting, blocking, dodging etc are new to me. It is quite unforgiving but I am keen to push through and learn how to fight properly. Thanks for the tips!
Something to be aware of is there are a lot of missables in the dungeons. After claiming the gland of each dungeon, they change permanently to the mist version which has a different layout and will lock you out of weapon upgrades until you revisit them in NG+.
Both Hammer and Chisel upgrades, three Quenching Acids, and a Solemn Offering are unavailable after Eternal Narthex changes to mist. Unfortunately, the NPC has no effect on the dungeon world state.
Well thank goodness you said what you said about healing Items, I was convinced the tarnished seal was the main healing method, and was raging for several hours because the parry timing is wonky, having to relearn all the timings for this game after playing Dark Souls and Sekiro for years is not easy
I think this is easily the best starting guide for the Game, I've seen. Props for this. Helped me get a sense of direction, as I'm finding Falgrim/the swamp to be a bit of a labyrinth.
Well you'll know where to go automatically if an area is too hard for u then common sense kicks in and says go another route. If one section is too hard then the other section has to be easy thats how it works
Should have watched that guide beforehand. :D Just finished the eternal narthex without any upgrades and the shell that was lying before the entrance. And it was pretty frustrating and the boss took forever to go down. I think from now on it’ll probably be piece of cake.
Damn you a champ for real! Mabye I should try that next time. Yes everywhere else is going to be a breeze. Fun fact, the last dungeon isn't really hard (the boss is debatable though I guess) u can actually run pass all the enemies in this dungeon without taking damage! I saw this guy do it on a speed run so I used his strategy and it worked lol its kinda pointless to fight the enemies in the final dungeon especially if u tackle it last and only if u need the Tar.
red crimson102 I’ve finished the game now and the other two bosses were total pushovers compared to this. But I also got a +5 weapon first after this ordeal. :D I think you are really meant to get an upgraded weapon first by exploring Falgrim and then take on the dungeons. Because otherwise the bosses are just total damage sponges. Yeah and I absolutely ran the last part of the ethereal Narthex to the boss. The whole section where you have to balance on that small beams while being shot at from the archers really gave me Anor Londo flashbacks. :D
@@xxlive4eatingxx275 cool and you're about thr upgrading your weapon first before fighting bosses. As for the archers in the last level just hardened whenever u are going up thr stairs. You can literally speed run the last dungeon even pass thr archers just don't stop.
just bought the game after I finished elden ring and it felt totally different in term of souls game. This guide help me a lot to know better what my shell is for and weapon in general. I choose the hammer and chisel after I saw your video and I was able to kill the first boss where the fire mace is located pretty much easy. This game is far one of my top soul game so far after elden ring. I just need to get use to combo harden+swing because I struggle with stam because I use the one near eternal for max HP since I'm so dumb to anticipate attack and took too much hit lol !
Quite shocked by the fact that you said that Eredrim is not a lategame shell. He is actually by far the most powerful shell in the game; despite his low stamina pool, the skills he can unlock are the real deal. You can: 1- Stack damage for every enemy you kill without any cap; 2- Stagger enemies easier; 3- Increase dmg on 1-on-1s. The bigger health pool is massive for the first point, as it makes stacking damage easier as you don't risk much in terms of dying. The fact that the stacks are lost exclusively "detaching from the shell" also allows you to die from falling into the void and still retain all your damage stacks, as well as return to the Sester whenever you want to replenish your HP without ever losing stacks, easily allowing you to cheese your way through the first stage of the game and pile up stacks. Since damage stacks are also absolute numbers and not percentage based, they're insane with the Hammer and Chisel, allowing you to use the lowest Stamina Cost weapon in the game in the endgame dealing more than 70+ damage per hit. I've literally run through the final stage of the game one-shotting every mob and face-tanking the boss using exclusively the Hammer and Chisel with 700+ stacks.
Kinda late, but going to the corrupted sester behind the entrance to the Narthex is a good call, she sells an upgrade to the parry tool which enhances resolve gain, pretty useful overall
Tiel is honestly the best, sure you can get killed in like 2 hits or smth but 1 healing item's full tick can replenish half your health bar and visually it's very comforting lmao. And that stamina is just so fuckin nasty. Combine that with the Martyr Sword, which is basically DS1 Zweihander and you got yourself a mini-Giantdad build.
Watching your twitch steam the first time i noticed you had a lot of viewers with no cam. I wondered to myself why that was you seemed good but after watching this the mystery is solved.
Ik that I’m a few years late but if anyone is still watching this video and playing mortal shell I just wanted to say something about the mist. When you call the mist from Thestus you can talk to the prisoner(even without a gland) and it will rid you of the mist for free.
This is just a fantastic game, but it could really use a bonfire type system where I can travel between places. Not knowing where to go or how to revisit past locations really spoils it for me even though i love the game mechanics.
Mortal Shell is without a doubt the best Soul's Like game to date in the 3d realm (in my opinion). In the 2d realm Salt & Sanctuary, Blasphemous and Death's Gambit are the best in that respect. Finally a Soul's like that has me thinking all day about it at work excited to get home and play it. Im still confused about the layout of the game but im starting to piece it together in my mind the more I backtrack and explore. Got all 4 shells and 2 weapons so far but haven't gone to the main areas yet except for entrances. I want to do a complete walkthrough series of this game so im really trying to find everything and figure out optimal routes and efficiency for when I do that so im constantly jotting notes and stuff. This definitely isn't the easiest game to do a step by step walkthrough for because it is so open ended so this is gonna be a challenge for me especially since I just started doing all this recording and editing stuff but im committed cuz I always wanted to do a 100% walkthrough guide and help someone hopefully. Anyways this shit is tha bomb!!!
@@sifthegreat5810 I dont think anybody will get that one thats pretty hardcore. The game fighting mechanics is so badly unbalanced its pretty much near impossible and don't get me started on the God awful award winning parry system, its the worst! A little more time in the oven this game could've stand tall among the greats but other than that its an OK game.
@@sebasfilmedit Thanks man. Yeah I pretty much put all the channel stuff I wanted to do on back burner cuz ive been working 6 days a week and so exhausted but I do wanna do it so I guess if at least 1 person wants to see it than that gives me some motivation. Haha thanks! Happy New Year!
After completing Darksouls 3 over 30 times its nice playing a new game not knowing where to go. The game is around 7$ on EGS right now with the sale and coupon.
Thanks for this. I don't really do Souls games but I wanted to give Mortal Shell a try. I nearly gave up after a couple hours of wandering and dying but I think I'll jump back in and try some of these tips.
give dark souls 3 a try, i didnt do do souls games my self byt ny friend gifted it to me to join him, he wae op asf and had multiple characters but he barely helped me. the addiction really kicks in once you beat your first boss by yourself.
Just play the game how ever you want, instead of having someone spoon feed the information to you, just learn as you play. I did and absolutely loved this game
Hahaha I was like "Where are other weapons?! I was in all the locations shown and I didnt noticed I can pick them up there... Not sure if indicator glitched or I did... Either way, thank you for the guide!
Love the design of Harros, my fave Shell to play as...though i'm not as good as the reviewer lol. Nevertheless, this video was helpful, has been helping me to grasp some concepts of the game that i wasn't aware of.
Honestly, once you learn the game, Harros is argueably the best shell. He has servicable health stamina and resolve, he has a far better harden than the others (the harden effect lasts longer after being hit, he can harden more often and it can be used to fully restore stamina almost instantly). I used him against the final boss for those reasons, and the boss could barely touch me. High health is awesome, but Eredrim has very limited stamina and only has a single roll rather than a stepdodge with a roll followup. He gets less hits off, can't use the Martyr blade without completely depleting his stamina, and his massive health pool only really matters if you heal much more regularly because he has less defensive options and has to face tank hits more often. 7 familiar shrooms to heal from near death to near full health with the health upgrade he gets. Meanwhile, Harros only uses up 3. Coupled with how he can refill his stamina so fast and so often, he can not only use it for defense, but offense too. Tiel obviously dies very fast and even if a hit doesn't kill you, it messes you up bad and literally any damage removes his poison on hit buff. Plus, the grisha grab oneshots him at max health. Solomon can build resolve very fast, and store slightly more for weapon skill spam, but the others still have plenty, excluding Tiel, and you gain it back so fast anyway once you get the item from the vendor to the left of the narthex dungeon entrance.
Why would Eredrim be less and less effective as you get further into the game if he has stacks that "upon killing an enemy, each stack increases base attack damage."? Thank you.
He got the fact from his a**. Eredim is objectivity the best shell in the entire game and deals a lot more damage than the other since you can always kite enemies fight 1v1 and get his extra damage passive.
@@Jonathan0rtiz I don't know about "objectively" since it depends on playstyle, but while Eredrim might have the most health and dmg stacking skills, Solomon has the biggest stat pool, the most resolve, and the 2nd best health in the game. Harros' harden skills make him a good tank if you time it properly, and Tiel is a lot of people's favorite because of his ridiculous stamina.
Yeah idk, Eredrim is the only shell in the game with an ability that gives you flat weapon damage. With the hammer and chisel and max execution stacks he is both the tankiest and highest DPSing shell in the game by a large margin.
If we say Lords of the Fallen is a "Soul's Ish" kinda game and not "Souls like" Mortal Shell is the first ever souls like game i've ever played. Now i am fairly recently started, trying to learn the different moves and timeing. I gotta say i think the "Solomon, The Scholar" is by far the best choice for a new player to this game. He got Good HP, Decent Stamina and a best Resolve. Haveing played Harros, Eredrim and Solomon abit while trying to learn the game it feels like Solomon generates resolve more then the others. Which again allows for more parry and heal to newer players.
Dont beat the Enslaved boss until you have upgraded as much as you can, after is the only area in the game you cannot return from or change weapons until you beat the area boss.
This is my first Soulslike and Jesus Christ I can barely last 10 minutes without dying. This is -if anything- a very humbling game lmfao. I'm a pretty skilled gamer but my god this game put me in my place. What I keep getting fucked by is the stamina bar. I try to dodge or attack an enemy and nothing happens because I've already run out of breath from swinging my sword like 3 times. This is taking a hot minute to learn lmfao because I've never really had to deal with that.
You have got to be kidding me. "Eredrim's damage abilities get less and less effective as you progress the game?" Bruh. Eredrim is -BROKEN-. His killstreak damage bonus is insane. Couple that with his humongous HP pool, clearing trash should be a breeze and every single kill makes him do more damage. And he gets a bonus when against single enemies so he's an insane boss slayer.
Very true! He is the best shell in the game, too bad I found his shell last, towards the end of the game. If I had gotten his shell in the beginning the game from start to finish would be easier. It took both Solomon and Eldrem to finish the last boss, he so cheap.
I hate nee game plus, your weapons becomes weaker and enemies do way more damage. Its kinda pointless to play it after wer u beat it the first time. This game was actually very frustrating due to the unbalanced gameplay fighting mechanics. How is it on pc? Is it any better than the console versions? Does it run in 60fps?
You're right, the Martyre hollow sword is the best weapon in the game. I used it thru the whole game. Eldrem is the best shell in the game then Solomon 2nd. Solomon is the best shell to use until u acquire Eldrem. It's funny because I actually cleared the dungeons in the same order without a guide, what a coincidence huh?
Also, be sure to double-check which mask you are using, because some of them or rather two of them used glimpses upon use. And it sucks to lose 22 glimpses, Good Times lol
man I didn't even know what to do at first, so I collected all weapons and shells based on the instincts, I just ran without bothering the mobs, so confused what to do XD
Elden Ring I would expect to be similar but much more fleshed out and with more impressive scope and scale. They have a huge dev team with insane resources and Miyazaki at the helm. Mortal Shell is a nice bite sized gem and I'm enjoying it, but I expect ER to blow it out of the water. My standards for From Software and papa Miyazaki are quite high.
@@EvidenceFragmentary Well yeah, elden ring will be much larger game. This is a fantastic game though considering it was made by only 15 people. Imagine if this team was given more money and some more people we could get some great games inspired from dark souls. Which would be great because Miyazaki wants to move away from the souls formula. I wouldnt be surprised if elden ring is closer to sekiro than a dark souls game. So we will eventually need teams like this to give us our dark souls itch.
I started yesterday and guess what i did i went straight to the castle thingy to get the king guy deffeated the sickle guy and those zeuses should i go back? Or continue
Yes it's called "disliking". You know, that thing that's a part of that cool concept called "opinion", which is *surprise* not exclusively reserved to you and on which price and number of people involved have no influence. Grow up.
Polished game? Yeah right, u sound like a big fan of this game. First off I tip my hat off to the Devs for this game, you said 15 people made this game( I doubt that watch the credits) but if it were really 15 people it explains why the game fighting mechanics/gameplay is very unbalanced, thats why after I finished the game I did finish my second gameplay. Cool game it kept me playing till the end but its nowhere on any darksouls game level.
Flextralife - "Once you gain a Tarnished Sheath you need to collect all the Quenching Acid before the Burning Grisha..." New player - "Is this in English? I can't tell."
@@skidroski228 Paths in Dark Souls were mostly easy to memorize, especially DS3. Fallgrim feels like a labyrinth, with most paths looking identical to one another except for a few distinctive markers.
I can’t even get passed the 1st grisha in the game lol but still enjoying the game and the whole aesthetic of it,looks great for a game developed by such a small dev team
The lack of an estus flask is really killing this game for me. I could deal with parrying to get health back if the stupid little meter wasn’t a finite resource. Skill-based parrying without using some arbitrary meter would’ve been ideal, but here we are.
Shit. I got to the second dark tower area with the teleporter things after fighting for my life through that swamp...now I gotta back track to get those shells 💀
@@joshuanance3927 I picked Harros, The Vassal. I love the harden mechanic, and since Harros is based around hardening, it was a perfect choice. Plus I love the generic knight aesthetic. How about yourself?
Will there be any Hellpoint reviews/guides coming? Spent the last three days researching this and that game to decide which to buy, and apart from the graphics, everything about Hellpoint makes it seem like the much better Soulslike. But all the big SoulsBorne youtubers seem to be sleeping on it.
Hellpoint is closer to DS in space, but overall considered to be inferior to Mortal Shell. Also: Hellpoint is buggy as hell. Which makes the point, I guess ;)
Mortal Shell is more fleshed out than Hellpoint... The only point that hellpoint scores over MS is the split screen co op and that's huge even though I don't have anyone to play with... But in every other area MS is more souls like although I like the classes in Hellpoint better...
With the hallowed sword? It’s a modification called the mechanical spike which uses up two bars of resolve, and will stagger ALL opponents (including bosses) and deal decent damage. If you leave fallgrim tower hub through the main door, and go straight forward to Grisha , next to him is a chest containing it (you don’t need to fight him for it) and boom! Get it at the start of the game. There is also a modification called the Molten Spike which is the same but with fire and uses more resolve. There is another Grisha you can fight, and it needs to be foggy as it’s in a frog chest.
I love fextralife and their guides and sites, But "Things I Wish I Knew Before I Played" ? I have just started this game and this video just left me with more questions
there is a Grisha farming route once you kill a boss (whichever you want) - because the fog must be turned on. There are some guides here on UA-cam, it is surely more illustrative than me writing on a comment.
Idk either I watched 6 reviews, I heard it’s 10, 15, 20, and 25 hours. Someone said each of those, but the median would be 17.5 for a most/avg players then. Guessing 25 max if your really not that good and 10 if your used for playing these types of games and aren’t new to the genre. That’s just the conclusion I made up myself, I’m sure it’s right.
@@tokyo-7819 well it depends if you take your time. I've played like all the souls likes but I'm not gonna rush so I doubt I would be done in like 10 hours. Like in nioh 2 I literally didn't die to any single boss more than like 3 times, rarely died in general and it still took me like 100 hours. It's a way longer game but still
Demon Intellect are you sure, I got it been playing for a while like for like 7 hours straight so far. I’ve unlocked all the weapons and all the shells and killed the two mini bosses in the swamp area. This game isn’t like too hard, but tbh I haven’t like gotten to far into the other areas besides swamp. I did the swamp dungeon with the ice boss, I got it to half health with one life first time and then I fired and I didn’t know it respawned you at the start of the dungeon. Ehhh, that was pretty annoying so I didn’t end up doing the boss. Can you gimme any tips on what boss to do first cuz idk, so far I like the hollowed sword and the martyrs blade. This is my first souls type game btw, I’m new to this genre.
Thanks for the great guide! Hey, I heard you're looking for gamers to playtest new titles and help provide input for your videos and online guides. I'm all about it! Where do I send my resume? :)
@@Shadowsnoon it is terrible! Forest is just a big labyrinth. Snowy location will block your way back after you kill Grisha. Black location (I don't know how to call em) is oversized, but empty mostly. And you can't fast travel right after killing a boss (that makes fast travel mostly useless) and forced to go through the same location again with some changes
Played Tiel throughout the whole game and his dodge invincibility window is kind of stupid. I could roll without even thinking and always avoid damage. I think I'll try Solomon next because I want to use more weapon arts, but I also don't want to use the sword because I used that my entire previous playthrough.
I saw on Gamespot's guide that it IS possible to parry without resolve but it requires a hella' lot more precision than the resolve-repose parry. Personally I only parry with resolve in the tank, since it seems to be easier and you also get the benefit of health back.
@@HerbieChuckNorris After I stopped trying to play the game like I did bloodborne where I countered everything, the difficulty of the game plummeted. Kinda sad the high risk high reward playstyle is dead.
I'm just here to say another important fact: Don't buy it on Switch, I love to play it everywhere but just by watching this video y thought the video has some kind of acceleration because on Switch everything's so slow even if you put the "Indie mode" which allows you to see the game on a PS1 style.
i Miss an Portal System......to large Areas to run back or further, very annoying at some point. And by the way, Charakter TIEL with the LongSword and his endless Stamina-Bar is AWESOME to play !!!!!
Just abuse the harden mechanic, the game is a cakewalk. Ready a heavy attack with the biggest damage dealer you have and harden before the weapon hit. The enemy hits you for no damage and you hit them for a massive amount. Chooses Eredim for easy mode, only shell with poise mechanic.
Me too and in other souls-likes it doesn't bother me. But here, without the "bonfires" you have to travel so long to get your "souls" back and then you're forced to carry them again because you can't spend them due to not having enough glimpses. Death feels tedious in this game and doesn't challenge you to go back at it again.
@@Jonathan0rtiz Yeah...i use Eredrim. Today i have grind 5000 Tar in the starter area and bought the two acid's from the merchant, to buff my weapon. One i found one the way, a nother one i found in a temple. With more damage it gets better now. I spend 7 hours to farm mushrooms and rats...i have 80 of each now, without enough healing items i am feeling naked. Argh...Every time i write in english, i think i am stupid and no one understands me🤣 But it is a good exercise
It is not perfect, just does not compare with Sekiro, God of War, Dark Souls 3 or Vanquish. Before the third upgrade it is only worth the healing since the damage is so so. After the third upgrade it is worth the damage.
Krunkler yea I saw that too. Doesn’t look like I’ll be getting the platinum on this one. I have enough trouble as it is with shells so I know I can’t do it without one lol.
I'd half done the Narthex, the mazey transporter part, then decided to go elsewhere as I got bored with it, and ended up killing Imrod, went back to the Narthex and killed the twins on my second go, they were much easier than Imrod IMHO.
Harold is objectively the worst shell in the entire game. Master of nothing. Eredim is the easiest shell and the easiest way to deal damage (with his passive that stacks 100 times). The thief is the most permissive shell of all since you can spam roll in this game and abuse the invincibility frames. It is ridiculously to abuse the harden mechanic to avoid stamina loss. You can always ready a heavy attack harden and repeat, it works with every boss and enemy in the entire game. Really bad advice with shells. Solomon is a better objetive version of the first shell. The thief is ridiculous easy to kill bosses and you can run indefinitely if upgraded (it is really easy to run through enemies, the AI is not very smart). Eredim the big boy tank is good at everything, and it is the only shell with poise mechanic, you can ignore the stamina by abusing hardening and reading a heavy mechanic, overall the best shell. Just listen to me, get the claymore (martyrs blade) big boy eredim, ready a heavy, harden and repeat, child’s play.
in my playing experience, I've found that Solomon is good to grind in the beginning. Once you have enough farm to get the upgrades, I'd roll with Tiel (hehehe roll) or Eredrim, whichever suits better your playstyle. I mean... Solomon's passives "When talking to an NPC, Solomon gains a segment of resolve" or "Solomon becomes familiar with items more quickly and gains a glimpse on reading lore for the first time" compared to "Taking poison damage heals Tiel for a portion of the damage which would have been dealt" and "Eredrim deals extra damage against enemies who are alone"... like... buff the guy already!
He was pretty spot-on about the shells dude, just cuz it didn't work for you doesn't mean it won't work for somebody else. I'm glad you enjoyed the martyrs blade because that thing is dope, everyone is using you the Chisel and Hammer, the worst weapon in the game. It's like a wet noodle for the first 3 upgrades and then finally it's decent, even the sword is better. It's a starting sword for crying out loud
I wish I knew that the healing sucked, I wish I knew I would travel many kilometers without finding a bonfire only to die like a bitch in one of the many tight corridors packed with enemies, I wish I knew I needed a SECOND currency to spend the "souls" I have traveled many kilometers to get back and was now forced to carry with me when setting out again. I wish I knew I would hate this fucking game with a passion. Still 7/10, I won't let my salt get in the way of the work done by this small team.

This is a really good tip! I figured that out too today. It's kinda counterintuitive, but it's an interesting and powerful mechanic.
I never used it once. Not a bad idea.
So it works like Bite Down from Sekiro.
Genius
Here's some amazing tips:
-When you learn to parry you'll become 5 times stronger than without parrying.
-Become familiar with all 4 shells before spending glimpses to upgrade them
-Glimpses do not transfer between shells. So play with the one that suits you the most
-Use heavy attacks when starting a fight cause those enemies that are chilling on the ground will take some time to stand up and attack you. Preferably heavy, light light.
-Using parry and attack is recommended to get easy health against easy enemies
Yep, Solomon with the hammer and chisel was my playstyle.
There are no missable items for upgrading (materials) you can as well just call the mist with the npc that comes after you defeat a first major boss.
Both Hammer and Chisel upgrades, three Quenching Acids, and a Solemn Offering are unavailable after Eternal Narthex changes to mist. Unfortunately, the NPC has no effect on the dungeon world state.

I think this is easily the best starting guide for the Game, I've seen. Props for this. Helped me get a sense of direction, as I'm finding Falgrim/the swamp to be a bit of a labyrinth.
Im soo lost in this swamp, I thought after all Souls bloodborn sekiro games, I should be fine, easy peasy, then this, jezus..
Another Swamp?! 🥺
@@cubanref9670 I hope not, I was thinking about Falgrim :P
Well you'll know where to go automatically if an area is too hard for u then common sense kicks in and says go another route. If one section is too hard then the other section has to be easy thats how it works
@@Piotrollo. that's because those games are technically better gameplay wise. This game mechanics are unbalanced
honestly , love the game size for the game.
That was by far, the best explanation of Mortal Shell, by far. Thank you!
This game needs an update with new levels and bosses what a great game
just bought the game after I finished elden ring and it felt totally different in term of souls game.
Well good luck doing the 100% walkthrough. This game has a few tough trophies. Like beating the game without grabbing a shell.

This was informative and helpful thanks
Love the design of Harros, my fave Shell to play as...though i'm not as good as the reviewer lol. Nevertheless, this video was helpful, has been helping me to grasp some concepts of the game that i wasn't aware of.
My favorite is Eldrem, he is the best and most reliable shell in the game obviously. Solomon becomes a close 2nd after u require Eldrem.
Thank you.
Yeah, that didn't make much sense to me. I beat the game twice using Eredrim and the Martyr's Blade as my go-to when shit needed to get done.
@@Ryan-nm8pw For as long as his stamina lasts, which isn't long.
Thats a lie, there is an option to let the rift work/fish take u back to hub point smh
@@redcrimson1028 Youre talking about the Prisoner? I'm talking about the Grishna.
Yeah he is by far the best shell in the game his stack buff is ridiculous even after they capped it at 100
I love this game! I actually bought it on PC AND PS4. Already on NG+ on both, lol. Hopefully Cold Symmetry can now make a bigger and better sequel.
I hate nee game plus, your weapons becomes weaker and enemies do way more damage. Its kinda pointless to play it after wer u beat it the first time.
Mortal Shell coming to Gamepass has brought me here!

i hope Elden Ring is has some of this same aesthetic and look... this game looks fantastic
@@EvidenceFragmentary completely agree
@@EvidenceFragmentary Well yeah, elden ring will be much larger game. This is a fantastic game though considering it was made by only 15 people. Imagine if this team was given more money and some more people we could get some great games inspired from dark souls. Which would be great because Miyazaki wants to move away from the souls formula. I wouldnt be surprised if elden ring is closer to sekiro than a dark souls game. So we will eventually need teams like this to give us our dark souls itch.

What the hell are resolve, glimpses and tar?
I really enjoyed Hellpoint. It's not as pretty and it's got bugs, but it was fun.

How do you do that hilt strike thingie? Have tried to figure it out. Currently playing on PS4 but will get the pc version too
With the hallowed sword? It’s a modification called the mechanical spike which uses up two bars of resolve, and will stagger ALL opponents (including bosses) and deal decent damage. If you leave fallgrim tower hub through the main door, and go straight forward to Grisha , next to him is a chest containing it (you don’t need to fight him for it) and boom! Get it at the start of the game. There is also a modification called the Molten Spike which is the same but with fire and uses more resolve. There is another Grisha you can fight, and it needs to be foggy as it’s in a frog chest.

Idk either I watched 6 reviews, I heard it’s 10, 15, 20, and 25 hours. Someone said each of those, but the median would be 17.5 for a most/avg players then. I don't see a damage difference after putting the nail in the hollow sword.
The nail just gives you a weapon ability using either LB+RB or LT+RT. You have to use Acid to strengthen weapons.
Personally I’m finding Tiel the most fun to use.
Played Tiel throughout the whole game and his dodge invincibility window is kind of stupid. I could roll without even thinking and always avoid damage. I think I'll try Solomon next because I want to use more weapon arts, but I also don't want to use the sword because I used that my entire previous playthrough.
What is the requirement to be able to parry? Sometimes I cant parry if I dont have at least 1 bar of resolve. (No I dont mean riposte)
Yeah, the parry seems incredibly inconsistent, and I'm not sure why.
@@toolshedvideo not gonna lie I just stopped trying to parry at all. I just used heal items.

I need an easy-mode for this Game😥 for me Mortal Shell is way to hard. The lack of effectiv healing items sucks

GAMES WITH STONES?
It's a starting sword for crying out loud
anyone else find the "last" shell first?
I wish I knew that the healing sucked, I wish I knew I would travel many kilometers without finding a bonfire only to die like a bitch in one of the many tight corridors packed with enemies, I wish I knew I needed a SECOND currency to spend the "souls" I have traveled many kilometers to get back and was now forced to carry with me when setting out again.
I wish I knew I would hate this fucking game with a passion. Still 7/10, I won't let my salt get in the way of the work done by this small team.
the map is quite hard to understand compaired to soulsborne
Very confused lol. Me n my buddy started playing last night took me a few hours to learn hardening. Lol shadow of war is far easier, cool game though!
