@@walterdavis9718 Been so long I can't recall everything but one thing that I do recall is him talking about performing at Brixton Academy and claiming it was where Shakespeare debut, 🤣Brixton Academy is less than 100 years old and first opened in 1927, Shakespeare was born 1564, almost 500 years ago and all his plays debuted at the The Globe Theatre which is the other-side of London, plus the original Globe burned down in 1614. Brixton was almost totally farm land couple of hundred years ago. Search is an habitual liar and well known for it, he's got issues and just seems to make stuff up on the spot to impress people. I wouldn't believe a word that comes out of his mouth.
I remember reading an interview with Serch's daughter Mia [who also performs in the band PomPom Squad] and they asked her about him. She said something like "Yeah, my dad did some little hip hop thing or something. But that was like a long time ago." I was like, does this girl even know who her dad is???? Great interview, keep them coming!
We know our parents as people who provide a home and protection unfortunately you learn who they were to others at the wake or funeral.
She ain't trying to be under her famous dad's shadow. At least it sounds that way to me.

MC Serch always gives great interviews. He has great stories and words of wisdom. Glad he clarified the Nas situation and he should be celebrated more for doing good business with Nas by protecting him. I grew up being a 3rd Bass fan and glad MC Serch has been putting out new music. Consistency is key. Thank you Math Hoffa!
I appreciate MC Serch too, but he is still trying to save face. “Takeover”dropped in 2001. In this interview he says Serchlite started in 2011. Also on Drink Champs he said Rocafella called him to clear the sample. And he cleared it for $2500. Also that song has four other samples on it, that all get a percentage of the publishing for the song. I do believe MC Search when he says they got 50% of that song because his sample was used as the hook or chorus. But anything that is sampled gets a percentage or split of the publishing.

The 2500 wasn’t for him, it was for him to take to the owner of the publishing (Zomba) as an administrator within Def Jam and get the sample cleared for Hov. That’s how it works within a company, people gotta go through the right channels. Jay Z wasn’t big enough at the time to just go demand the sample be cleared. He needed a vet like Serch who was in an administrative position within the record label to get it done.

I had to stop and process the first 5 minutes of the conversation and then proceed. That was eye opening with all that has gone on with that relationship. What a way to start it off.
Serch is an inspiration for reals. Usin music as the bridge to bring unity. I miss those days. Nowadays its used as a weapon to divide and create chaos. I remember goin through the wax every monday when i worked at Fat Beats, episode reminded me of happier times. Watchin this during my chemo right now. Respect to everyone there at the barbershop.
