I 1,000% think that CPS worker's, regardless of being understaffed & underpaid, need to be held accountable for dropping the ball when it comes to these cases. Like the judge in this case refusing to believe Justina when she told him Michael was abusive and neglectful. These things continue to happen because if these agencies were truly investigated, it would be down to the government to do something about it. They will not, because it would cost too much money. Even when a child is removed from their abusive parent, they are subject to foster parents who can be just as bad if not worse, than the parents. I know there are good foster parents out there, but it is well known how much children suffer in care. The cost would be astronomical to overhaul the whole system, so they turn a blind eye. Can you imagine the extra resources, the training, the staff, the general investigating it in the first place. Billions of dollars.
They'd rather spend that money on defense and getting to mars and line their pockets with construction and building businesses or funding sports and whatever other shitty thing in comparison, they spend their money on. They just throw these offenders in prison and hope that people are satisfied with that. They actually, don't care, which is a really difficult thing to come to terms with.

And even if you become the villain in everyone else’s eyes you should do what’s in the best interest of your child or in this case children. Save up what you can and move to Mexico or Canada. @@tiffanyjackson1299 OMG girl. I know it's a hard job.. especially child protection work. I only worked for the state for a year and I saw A LOT of stuff. But.. the first SA case that I had was a 13 year old girl who's step-dad was molesting her. Her mom swore that the daughter just wanted nicer things (new clothes and phones or tablets) so she made up the story! I'll be honest with you. A few days later, I saw her going to the courthouse, crossing the street and holding hands with her husband. It took everything inside me not to run them both over. But anyway, I saw the girl a few months later at a dinner my church had for the children's home. This 13 year old came up to me and said. Do you remember me? You saved me from my dad. She thanked me and hugged me. So all the bullshit I had to deal with.. all the terrible things I've seen. It was all worth it because I protected a child. Follow your heart. It sounds like you are someone we need. Good luck.💜❤️

They are definitely not overly compassionate bt nature and if they were after a few years it's so easy to become jaded. People always lieing to you and you littleraly see the worst of the worst. This sort of gaslighting and coaching literally broke my mother when my parents were going through divorce. He "lawyered up" and gained full custody of me and my 2 sisters and put us through decade of physical, verbal, and emotional abuse...all out of spite. My mother never recovered, and my baby sister died of an overdose in what I believe to be in the wake of his abuse. People like Thomas' father literally destroy multiple lives.

I am deeply moved by the shared experiences recounted in this story. The prevalence of such injustices, particularly affecting women, is a matter of great concern. The manipulation of children as pawns in power struggles is a reprehensible practice that must be addressed. The emotional turmoil and financial burden faced by mothers fighting for custody of their children is a distressing reality.
The flaws within the family court system are evident, as demonstrated by the limitations placed on the admissibility of crucial evidence such as video recordings. The tactics employed by manipulative individuals to drain resources and avoid trial only serve to exacerbate the suffering of those seeking justice.
The tragic outcome in this case serves as a poignant reminder of the devastating consequences of abuse and neglect. It is disheartening to witness the cycle of abuse perpetuated through generations, leading to the tragic fates of many vulnerable children.
As a concerned individual, I am eager to offer support to parents enduring similar struggles. Any guidance or connections that can aid in assisting those facing abusive situations within the confines of a flawed legal system would be greatly appreciated. It is imperative that we work towards preventing such tragedies from occurring in the future.

@@ClaireHarper-ke8djthere is no help for us now that all of the nightmare is over. We went from a beautiful home, to being evicted, (it was on contract, and I'm on disability, his income just poof! gone) our daughter, we adopted her, was a daddy's girl, didn't know what he'd done, and I didn't run him through the mud, she was too young to understand. He would see her on visits, tell her mommy wouldn't let him come home. (His affair with the neighbor, he moved her to our home state where he was "working" I finally caught on to) . And had me take loans on my grown kids life insurance policies to tide over the bills and pay off credit cards and accounts, bcz his brother wasn't working him much. Well his brother was working him overtime, because he was told I was a money hog. Truth was, he was on drugs. I lost all the insurance policies. Because he WAS working, it was all a lie, and everything he was ordered to pay in the divorce, he didn't pay. Took seven years for me to start building mine back up. I'd paid his cards off tho! His was good!! He got arrested, and turned states evidence so he didn't get punished.... I got the divorce, hands down. It got worse and worse, mental abuse on my daughter and me, he remarried and they both attacked me then her, ... We were destitute, he went to court and had his child support dropped to the lowest because he got unemployment. But he was a contractor, cash under the table, twenty five dollars an hour or more back then. We were broke then, 41.00 a week, and are to this day, I lost everything, due to unforeseen circumstances that his help would have been a life saver but he would have rather died. My daughter only saw him three times after his marriage, and he's died of cancer now. She wasn't even on the obituary. I've never dated again, going on 15 years. We're reclusive, she's on the spectrum, bipolar 2, and high anxiety disorder, among other things. I have ADHD and bipolar 1, and the whole thing threw me into depression and inability to be around people. My ADHD is off the wall, and I have no sense of worth to get myself into a positive life.
And there is no help. I see MH, but I need hands on help. None. Anywhere. She is trying to work, but has anger issues, panic attacks, but is trying. She and I and my oldest daughter, (also with MH issues and working for minimum wage, but our state just dropped state insurance unless you have children so she's un medicated) , her birth mom, they remain sisters, live in the same house. It's insanity. Until I can try to get some help with a loan I qualify for, and get into the country and get some dogs, and be alone and happy. We're not alright. Not a single agency was helpful, they just wanted to try and catch me doing something wrong, so they could take something. And I had nothing. Our whole system is wrong. Yeah, I know she wasn't being abused. But once the divorce was signed, we were alone. No help to enforce anything. The child support, his working, , his fulfilling the divorce, she even called and reported me to disability and SSI for income, vehicles, and retirement funds, and got my checks stopped for three months while they investigated me. We had no electric or water, and I lost our storage unit with all our overflow belongings. You would think, I'd have been able to have kept my checks, while they investigated. They CAN choose to do that. I lost my credit, to because of that, so the property and little house we had qualified for? Gone. So I'm trying again. We were homeless by the time they reinstated my three checks, so we got a ton of camping gear and a big dog run and lived on the river. We had three white shepherds. Not easy to find quick housing. So yeah, all these agencies, are hopeless. If I'd have asked the wrong person?? CPS would have taken my daughter. In a heartbeat!! But let someone beat the tar out of them, over and over, and it's a nope...
I'm sorry. I just saw your post, and I wanted to say that our country is not set up to handle the problems that are going on. Our children are falling through the cracks. They are dying. They are surviving to struggle through life with mental health issues and not get much help for that either!! Because you can't just throw pills at mental health. You have to address the problem. What started the ball rolling. Sure medication may be necessary, but you can't mask it. You dig in and help us. Them.
Survival isn't always so great if you just want to be gone 😢. The family unit is so broken. Abuse is at an all time high. And my God, the horror it does to the mind to be physically and mentally abused.

I'm glad that you were at least eventually able to get yourself and children away from that deadly toxic environment. I hate that you had no other choice but to stay and wait patiently for your kids to grow up enough, mentally and physically. Every day in the path of narcissistic injury and rage is life or death seriousness. You made the right choice and your children are so blessed to have a mother with super human strength because I have no doubt it was required! Not everybody can recognize that and no doubt misinterpreted your staying as insecurity, dependency, and weakneess, but I hope it helps to know some of us know better! Then the opposite also happens. @sinkingslowlywithasmile , this is for all parents who are fighting CPS cases. It's obvious that the system fails and it never works for the parent who has lost a child (s) in the system and the parent is doing everything that they are suppose to do and CPS keeps making it harder and harder for that parent. Go to your Congressman and Senator's Offices and talk with them about your CPS case. ( you are a voter, they help the community) Call and make an appointment. Maybe one day with a lot of complaints about CPS, the Government might look into all the deaths of children, caused by the " system failure " due to incompetent case workers!!!

I'm currently on year 15 of custody battles. My oldest is only 15 this past June. He was 2 weeks old when it all started. After tons of calls to cps and tons of court. I won custody in my county through a pfa. My oldest had been hit in the face by their dad. Just had court last week. I still have custody but the county they live in is saying the county I live in made a procedural error. I have court Tuesday and my heart is in my throat. Been thinking about writing a book, wish I could get stories from every mom, or dad who has gone through this. It's gross, and so common. Cps has been involved since last may. And many times before this. Recently, before I just got custody I was anxious and paranoid, just waiting for the call that a tradgy occurred, no parent should have to live like that.

Annie, NYS CPS is horrendously and horrificly notable for allowing children to be made to endure CA & SA. One such case is that of my now 24 yr old daughters BFF ERIN MAXWELL who was tortured for years by her parents and her older brother Alan Jones. Her story is gut wrenching to say the least. My daughter to this day gets very emotional and breaks down when Erin's name is mentioned. We would love to see you do a deep dive of her case. 😢 So tragic when you hear about any child being abused in any way shape or form. The Mexico High School remembered Erin on the brick walkway into the school by community members and school students and teachers who bought a brick for, I believe it was $20.00 per brick. On the brick you could have anything engraved on it. There is approximately 50 bricks in Erin's memory. So sad when anyone dies but to be unalived by the very people who are supposed to love and care about you, is truly vile

My "mother" did the same thing to me by asking me to say that my three year-old brother got into the scalding hot bath water by himself KNOWING I had just watched her do it. She didn't take him to the hospital until 3 1/2 days later when he started shaking puking, and going into convulsions . He had to be life flighted. I had to testify against her at 11 years old. It was all over the news, my teachers peers, random people in our neighborhood... I mean literally everyone knew that I was her daughter. Never really affected me AT ALL until I had my own kids YEARSSS later. Now, I am literally afraid of everything. Car rides make me panic when the entire family is in the car. Leaving the house is the last thing I ever wanted to do because my brain is too busy playing out what if scenarios. And when it's bathtime, I have to get my husband to double check the water. Because I'm so afraid that those same evil genes flowing through her blood could also be in mine. Even though I know I would never cause harm to anyone... let alone burn a three-year-old in the bathtub or trade my daughter's virginity in exchange for drugs. She only did a little over 10 years and then tried to ruin my entire life because it was my testimony that put her in there.
