Thank you for this video and hymn. We never should forget all this brave men and woman who lost their lives in war. God bless them all, the veterans and the still active soldiers. D-Day memorial next year in the Normandy will be come again, a good place to remember.
Its very sad to see how many comments here are really not nice for and about the troops. So many soldiers have lost their lives or was wound and its still so. We never should forget this all and should thinking to them all in honor. God bless you all.
@50TNCSA If you mean 82nd is the only one left today that's not entirely true. 173rd Airborne Brigade is based out of Italy. They jumped into Iraq in 2003...but thats only Brigade size, 82nd is the only Division Sized Airborne Force in the U.S.
I was not AIRBORNE-but I learned a lot about their history and culture while stationed at Ft. Campbell in support of the 101st when they were truly AIRBORNE!
0:44 Bastogne, Belgium The Battle of the Bulge / The Battle of the Ardennes I've been to been to Bastogne, there is a museum there, and in the center of the town at a (i believe) 6 way roundabout is a Sherman Tank (they sometimes take it down for maintainence and restoration) as well as a Jeep. It's Pretty Neat
Any branch will allow you to enlist at the age of 17, but you need parental consent, and they have to sign an extra form. Also, the Marines and Navy will not allow you to enlist if you graduate from an alternative school. The Army will, and the Marines look at 4 yrs in the Army as 4 yrs of high school. Hope I was able to help.
@WolfytheWolf5667 That was an incident between the Germans and British on the first Christmas ( 1914 ) in WWI. They had some trouble with fraternization following that and both sides had to threaten to shoot their own if it continued. I doubt any Germans and Americans joined in for Christmas in WWII, especially during the Battle of the Bulge.
Im not a us citizen, but i`ll tray to enlist enyway:) well norway is a great country. I recomand a boat trip along the coast line. especaly the northern part of norway is nice. whish you best luck and a happy marrige:)
@pastirc No, course when you are a airborn trooper, your proud of everything about it, even the risk of dieing. Many Airborn troopers want to die in the action of jumping, and this song just honor the troops that jump and everything about their job, even death!
I do not have a distorted view of Vimy Ridge or of Dieppe. Vimy Ridge was a bloody event, as were the battles of Marne, Ypres, Flanders, Gallipoli, The Somme and an incredible number of battles between Russia and the Central powers. The fact that any battle is horrific does not lessen the contribution of the nations involved. If it did, Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Wake Island to name a few would be viewed quite differently than they are.
Glory Glory what a hell of a way to die,Glory Glory what a hell of a way to die,Glory Glory what a hell of a way to die,he ain't going to jump no more!!!!!!!!!!!!! Awsome video!
Nor would I argue that many people from all over the world fought and suffered in the past, are doing so now and will do so in the future. This does not make them greater or lesser men and women, It simply means that they were/are doing their job, for which I am thankful. I also never said that the USA did not contribute to victory, just that it can not and should not be given credit for it while ignoring the contributions of other nation which fought for much longer.
@TheJoshy123456789 I know, but I was commenting on the fellow's comment. Leon1000ify said Semper Fi and Hoo-ah at the end of his comment. >_> I do want to know what the Airborne says though.
What the hell is wrong with people that dislike videos that means so much to all those that serve served or will serve. I think that it is very disrespectful to dis like a song like this
Well documented where? Perhaps in texts published in the United States of America as those published else where certainly don't give the good ol' USA as much credit as you seem to think. Yes, the boarder I was referring to is the Canadian border. As for your last single word comment, it has always been the habit of those who are uneducated to fall back on insults rather than reasoned argument. Keeping that in mind I will consider the source and give all your comments less credit.
why at 2:35 has the guy a 4th infantry "Ivy" armpatch on his right sleeve, and a 1st armored division "Old Ironsides (or 2nd "hell on wheels, or 3rd "spreadhead) one on his left sleeve?
Respect to all soldiers heard the title of this from a Body guard myself and a few RMC were singing this out the chinny-tin in Afghanistan going back soon enough to that hell hole flea bitten turd land to Kick some ASS anybody else serving?
In WW I, the war was won by the time your troops arrived. The arrival of those troops in the last months of the war simply meant that it ended sooner and cost fewer lives. No nation the size of the Austro-Hungarian Empire (even with it's 3 allies) with it's limited resources could hope to win against the combined forces of France, Belgium, Italy, the British Empire (and 23 other allied nation) They had lost. A 28th nation joining the effort did not win the war come to the rescue and win the war.
Like wise I have never, nor will I ever, been smug about my opinions. Nor do I believe everything that I read or see. I also do not presume to form opinions as to another persons worth based people from the past. The value of every person is based on the actions of that person and nothing else. I openly acknowledge that I have not fought in a war, nor am I likely to do so. This is not due to lack of willingness on my part, but rather my age.
@renactfilms The brits adopted som sort of universal camo now. I thinks it's all fucked up we should all have a designated woodland camo, desert camo, winter camo. There is really no universal camo that works in al conditions.
I, so just so you know, being smug. If people can't discuss things without throwing insults how the hell do you expect to avoid escalation and open conflict. Insults are typically the first sign that open conflict is someones preferred method of dealing with differing opinions. As for someone being pissed off by my voicing differing opinions that is of course their choice. It has not, nor will it ever, change how I voice my opinions.
ounce again the only airborne unit left the 82nd was left out and the the dopes on ropes the 101 was the only boys shown what a same o well atleast we the all americans will remember what we did
This brought back many memories of my fellow troopers. To my brother in arms I love you all.
Thank you for this video and hymn. We never should forget all this brave men and woman who lost their lives in war. God bless them all, the veterans and the still active soldiers. D-Day memorial next year in the Normandy will be come again, a good place to remember.
Troops deserve WAY more respect. They put their life in danger for us to be safe!
All the troops that are no longer with us, you will be remembered.
Its very sad to see how many comments here are really not nice for and about the troops. So many soldiers have lost their lives or was wound and its still so. We never should forget this all and should thinking to them all in honor. God bless you all.
haha so simple yet so amazing all at the same time, the harmony's in it are really well produced.

What the hell is wrong with people that dislike videos that means so much to all those that serve served or will serve. I think that it is very disrespectful to dis like a song like this
its a nice vid... could have used some more pics though... I LOVE THE SONG!
Quote: And when he gets to heaven,
To St. Peter he will tell,
Another soldier reporting sir,
I've served my time in Hell.

Only the United States could come up with such a cynical and amazing song such as this. This is indeed a true work of art. USA 4 EVER!

I don't care that the main singer sings like he's in the middle of an opera, the song is beyond all of that.
Jump on.
@renactfilms The brits adopted som sort of universal camo now. I thinks it's all fucked up we should all have a designated woodland camo, desert camo, winter camo. There is really no universal camo that works in al conditions.
