"I remember when I was in Detroit, Sean Avery stood up as Joe Sakic was skating by our bench. Sean was a young, enthusiastic hockey player who was well liked by us old guys, and as you might know, was known for trash talking. But when he stood up and yelled, “Hey Sakic!” Brett Hull grabbed him by the back of his sweater and yanked him down on the bench. Then he said, and I’ll never forget this, “You are not allowed to speak to Mr. Sakic.” And then Sean looked down the bench at the rest of the boys and we all just sort of nodded." That is I believe a quote from Brendan Shanahan, at that time a member of Detroit Red Wings. I think that says it all!
You forgot to talk about the Swift Current Broncos bus crash which may had an impact on Sakic's mental toughness and was an important event of his career.
Sakic was better than Yzerman in my opinion. He was clutch and especially in the playoffs. Yzerman always got injured or tanked on the ice during the playoffs.

That's awesome hahah
Sakic was my favourite player growing up. I modelled my game after him in minor hockey. Great video!
Same here!
102 points when your team gets 31 is some kind of a feat!
