He becomes much nicer, and I mean much much nicer, their relationship progresses a lot and it’s a wonderful time, but it’s kinda cool to go back to the start of the relationship and see what the relationship was like.

If you haven't read the manga, you should totally read it. I prefer the manga over the anime because they cut things out and completely skipped some chapters/arcs (for time management I think) and make changes for the anime. They make Kyouya more of a jerk in the anime and they cut small details out that I feel like make a difference in certain scenes. They also make Erika a bit more embarrassing than she was in the manga. Like the episode where they had their first date, they made that really embarrassing and idk why. But the chapters that continue after the anime ends are definitely worth the read and Kyouya becomes so sweet, especially after they're married and have a daughter. I feel like complaints people have about this anime/manga are from people who don't understand or ignore the point of their relationship and Kyouyas character development. Another problem is that people now a days just expect fictional media to show picture perfect things that don't showcase actual issues or flaws in people's characters. And if they don't like it, they just completely sh** on it and say it's a horrible story. But that's not what media is supposed to do. It's supposed to showcase different facets of people's characters, and that's exactly what this manga does. So yes, at the beginning of their relationship Kyouya was horrible. That's the point. We're shown why he has this kind of attitude towards relationships later on. Not that it excuses his behavior towards Erika in the beginning and I don't think the creator was trying to excuse it either. It's literally pointed out so many times in the manga by Erika herself, and other characters how horrible Kyouyas behavior is... and that's the point. This is a story that focuses on Kyouyas character development through his relationship with Erika. It's a story showing how one person can positively impact and change someone. They're not meant to portray a "healthy" couple at the beginning, but they definitely do after they're married and that just shows how far Kyouyas come as a character/person thanks to Erika. So, I personally don't think it deserves some of the backlash people have for it.
I remember when it first came out i only saw the anime and just recently i decided to read the magna cause i missed them and omg ....the cuteness over load!! Im so happy i read it its soooo good!!! And he ugh protects her so much even tho his SUPER SHY for anyone to find out how much he cares for her lol one line he said flew me to the moon " its not that im not intrested in you...its because i cant live with out her.." *then is shows erikas face* lol Ugh my heart
