    How many hens can you have in the temp run with the rooster? I have several hens I want to breed with my rooster should I take them out one at a time just 1 rooster and hen? Or can I have multiple hens in with one rooster?

    • @MBHeritageFarms
      @MBHeritageFarms  2 роки тому +1

      Yes multiple is better, Roosters can feetilize up to 9 or 10 hens steadily. No you dont have to move out the roo with extra hens in there. Thank you so much for watching and commenting

    What is your advice on breeding a ameracauna rooster with a Brahma hen?

    • @MBHeritageFarms
      @MBHeritageFarms  2 роки тому

      The inconsistencies would be incredible however a colored egg laying brahma would be worth the effort lol

  • @tracystuder5910
    @tracystuder5910 2 роки тому +1

    When you re-introduce the rooster to the hen, do they have to go thru the same "introduction/get used to each other" period every time? Or do the roosters typically just pick up where they left off with the hen being OK with him and accepting him?

    • @MBHeritageFarms
      @MBHeritageFarms  2 роки тому +1

      This is a great question, Chickens will remember coop mates for a long time, however, once a mate has left for a longer period of time the pecking will have changed and even though they remember them, their status in the order will be forgotten and they will have to take a new status. But Rooster will pick right up from before

      Sometimes we do do inbreed but outside bloodline is very important and inbreeding should be very limited
