I know fish roe very well. We used to go to Kalk Bay harbor, buy a whole snoek & got the roe with it. It is absolutely delicious. That was many years ago.

Snoek is very popular in Cape Town. It’s a fish with very firm, dry flesh. Smoked snoek is equally popular...my parents used to love it. Personally, I don’t like the taste of snoek.
the english name is Thyrsites atun but the real name is snoek

Absolutely the best - kuite😋 bought some last week at the Milnerton flea market. Freshly fried - you just eat it like that...Fatima - I was just about to say something about your 1 piece of kuite on the roll (moenie synig wees nie)😂 and then you put a few more on the side...its goood good its very nice😋

Hi Fatima. That was one of my late dad's favorite things to eat, I never tasted it though, didn't look appetizing to me. And it's a good thing I didn't eat it, just found out now that it's fish eggs 😵 but it looks good the way you make it though 👌🐟
