I read a long time back an article about these royal horses and the ones belonging to royal troops. It was so loving and funny. These black bunch in 4 legs are nothing but spoilt rotten canines. The officer who gave the report said 95% of these lovable creatures are addicted to military band music and they want to dance and prance the moment the band starts. Im now very sure that that's exactly what King's horse did here too. Thats why he refused groom's help and patted the horse to tell him to behave.
According to what I read, the riders and their horses are joined by their hips and if a stranger rides one of these horses except his partner officer, the horse makes sure to give him the cold shoulder and do every rude thing he can think of.
