2025 Rivian R1S | Rivian equips the 2025 R1S with an all-new electrical architecture is said to remove over 44 pounds of wire. The Standard battery is now a lithium-iron-phosphate design, while the models with the Large and Max batteries get range revisions. New, Rivian designed-and-built motors are utilized in Tri-Motor and Quad-Motor configurations. (The Dual-Motor's motors were already in-house designs.) There are new 20- and 22-inch wheel designs, an updated user interface that incorporates new graphics, and reworked driving-assistance functions. Rivian's new Connect+ subscription software includes GoogleCast streaming video and access to Apple Music, but there's still no Apple CarPlay or Android Auto compatibility. The new headlamps feature tech dubbed "Adaptive Drive Beam" that's designed to maintain maximum visibility without blinding oncoming drivers by manipulating the illumination elements; it's scheduled to arrive later this year via a software update.
