I Tried to Form Byzantium in Victoria 3 but the Game Was Broken
Вставка

- Trying out forming Byzantium as Greece in Victoria 3 on the Open Beta Patch 1.2. I go over the patch's new features and review it as well, but tl;dr there are a lot of issues with it that make me want to avoid playing it more.

What are your guys' thoughts on the newest 1.2 patch?
It's very poggers, haven't had a single issue yet except noone wanting coop ownership in the first beta, and elections desyncing multiplayer in this current beta
trash i cant play MP
@@Kino3 you can dodge the mp problem with enough modding
better than nothing
A lot of stuff to learn but it’s all good changes, game is going in the right direction
Greece trying to form Byzantium in 1920 but there was a peace conference glitch - the game was broken
Truly a vicky 3 moment
Historically accurate
just a tip- if you want to take someone else's treaty port, its gonna be under conquer state and not take treaty port. take treaty port creates on, conquer states transfers one
Taking a treaty port is it's own war goal specifically for that, and the state was classified as an inactive treaty port so the conquer state wargoal wasn't valid for it
@@guyfromcollege oh my bad, thats normally how it works for me
@@guyfromcollege i mean if take treaty port works on a bunch of other non treaty port states (as you can see in the clip where you try to) then take treaty port doest mean take a treaty port someone has but take a tile from someone and make it a treaty port so conquer state should work (correct me if im wrong)
@@stepanek7404 No, you are correct. If you wanna take back a treaty port you just do it throught conquer state, I did this with Sweden against Russia recently.
Maybe because of the patch it was return state? Considering the state was his core it might have changed the war goal to be a return state instead of a conquer state
Played these games for years and could never find someone I actually liked posting content for them, but here I am binging all your videos while I build my colony in Rimworld. Great work bro 😁🔥
Glad you love them. I definitely want to come back to Rimworld one day.
The British not showing up to help the Turk’s? I think you accidentally did the Crimean war a bit early.
Also great video as usual looking forward to more stuff as always ❤
As frustrating as it can be, sometimes I gotta love the commander AI in this game
"Alright, so we just need to occupy Poland and Russia will likely back out. Our troops are better equipped than theirs, so all you have to do-"
"TALLY HO, BOYS! WE'LL BE SIPPING VODKA IN ST. PETERSBURG BY CHRISTMASTIME!"
Your story telling and editing skills are really good, because you make the only Victoria 3 videos I watch, let alone enjoy!
I get quite excited when I see you upload a Vic 3 vid, cause I know it's going to be good. Awesome! Don't stop
Dude, your videos are amazing. Keep it up when it's back on par!
You could have gotten back the treaty port of Russia in Thrace. You were selecting "conquer state" but you should have selected treaty port, Thrace should be an option
Nope. I checked treaty port many times, it never was an option.
"Oh my god! He is sooo goood!"
But seriously, nice video. I appreciate the effort.
Glad you enjoyed!
yeah I noticed even in europe it takes the british ai like a year to start sending in some few troops and then they take over a month to arrive (in this patch, im way behind).
When you have the opportunity, you should return to Equestria at War, incredible mod
Just saw your matches against Lennard in Speed5. Good work
Does he know?
I love your vic 3 video
If you can't conquer the treaty port you can still use the normal conquer state casus Belli
So for some reason the made it so the Designate Strategic Objective thing doesn't reset when you reach the objective or when the war ends. So if you used it before and then go to use it again you have to remove the first objective then you can use it.
bruh that music at rhe end of the video felt so good
If you start as the Papal State and make a monarchy out of it, it becomes Rome ... that would be cool too
love your vic content!
Ah debug mode, every Paradox gamer's best friend
“Is victoria 3 ever worth playing?”
Short answer: N O
Long answer: Oh god please no
i played this game for 5hrs and forgot about it
College I love your vicky 3 stuff lets gooo siuuu I have like a hundred hours in the game myself and I know it is so weird sometimes but goddamn I love watching you play it
College actually has a goated channel wtf
GOD BLESS you, College, God bless
What episode of the show is this? Is this Bird Up? I don’t get it. Eric Andre has been getting weird recently…
On the new patch I haven't had America colonize Canada, seems like they changed it so the Crown Colonies will actually try to colonize land within their influence
I have definitely seen tax cuts during a war.
I actually had this bug in the previous patch, and I really wish I could figure out what caused it. I was playing Great Qing, and I couldn't retake Macau during the Boxer Rebellion because I couldn't declare a war for it against Portugal. Had to do the same thing as you and just cheat take it, because there was no other possible way. Kind of ruined the playthrough for me, but to be fair, playing late-game China in Vicky 3 is already painful enough seeing as you spend like 90% of the game paused trying to figure out what to build due to overpopulation issues causing your economy to enter free-fall. Not sure how it is in the next patch, since they apparently lowered the number of agriculture slots in Chinese states, meaning there are even fewer potential jobs available.
I play China a lot and I never had issues with my economy or overpopulation. I only build farms if I have to, try to concentrate on factories, iron, steel, tools to promote capitalists and industrialization. Disable poor laws asap because it costs you a ton of money and get better taxing systems. Max out taxation and spend all your authority on product tax, squeeze every penny out of the people and ignore radicals, they will thank you once they have jobs.
Try to build as many construction centers as possible without going broke and you will easily be the unstoppable superpower number 1 with 1 billion GDP by the late 1880s. Also do weapon factories early and start puppeting countries around you asap so you don't waste infamy. I always do vietnam war on day 1 because not many superpowers have interest in this region in the beginning.
Btw, if you accidentally build too many construction centers and go to far into debt just delete 10 or 20 until you have recovered. I had around 200 construction centers by 1890. Could probably be more if I got better tax systems earlier and no poor laws.
@@Chillerll Oh, I was the unstoppable superpower bar none. My issue is that in the very late game, you literally run out of resources to use for your factories, and your economy ends up being larger than literally everyone else in the world combined so no matter how much you're actually exporting, it tends to only be a small fraction of the goods actually circulating in your economy. I had also spent the entire game between 25 and 99 infamy because I had to keep conquering new land in advance because I knew the resource collapse would happen eventually (This was my second game as China, so I knew this was coming in advance). This issue isn't present until, like, the 1920s or so, when your population begins to skyrocket up to somewhere around 800 million. I think I ended the game with something like 15 billion GDP? But my economy was also beginning to collapse due to not being able to create enough jobs for my population, causing welfare to obliterate my income, and unless I got rid of it entirely it wouldn't matter how low the setting was, seeing as the people in question were all unemployed.
I suppose the issue is that I actually care about my populace's Standard of Living, when increases to it tend to also increase birth rate, which tends to lead into the issue in question.
One campaign? All campaigns.
About the Russian treaty port: Treaty ports become unique states similar to Macao or Krakow (which isn't a treaty port but is part of West Galicia) so they need to be taken through the conquer state casus belli instead of the treaty port casus belli.
No the state was shown to be an inactive treaty port. Conquer state wouldn't work either.
@thatguyfromcollege1999 Is it an issue from the new patch then? I never had any issues taking treaty ports in 1.1 with a conquest cb. I remember doing so taking Singapore from the Brits and Macao from Portugal as China since I was trying to go for a united Asia as China. What caused it to go inactive? Was it Russia losing GP status or you being above them in GP status?
My two theories without testing treaty port issues in the 1.2 beta as of yet would be that either the game had an aneurysm that the treaty port was no longer connected to the nation it was supposed to be attached to: The Ottomans, or because Major Powers are for some reason being tied in with Great Powers in ranking for Power privileges, you now need to force a Major Power down to a Minor Power. Either way it sounds like Paradox needs to fix it before the patch launches or else nations like India and China will never be able to reclaim their treaty port lands.
@@JonStormr Yeah I think it's a new bug with the new patch. The treaty port goes inactive if it's connected to a market of the same rank or greater, so it was deactivated ever since I took the state since I was in the French ,later British market, and again when I became a great power
Vicky 3 needs a "disassemble nation" wargoal.
One question, in the end, Constantinople was mayority greek again?
CANT MICRO SIDE OF BARN-Bokeon 1
Also if the war mechanic of Vicky 3 is so bad, why don't the devs just return to the old style of point and click army?
They even have that in CK3
In the tooltip it says that Greece must be higher that Russia. Greece and Russia are both major power because great powers are simply the top major powers and so it is not a bug. Maybe they could make that great powers are a level on its own.
Number one rule for any beta ever is not to have mods active. Maybe some bugs you encountered are caused by them.
6:40 bro what are you doing to those immigrants
Why the guy on the thumbnail looks like Erick khan
I tried this strat so many times but France is just so unreliable. They often didn't send anyone or just not enough troops. You really have to be lucky in the beginning and save scum a lot.
college i love you when will you make moldova video? lot of love
missed the Vicky 3 content
Strategic objectives work for me, maybe it was your mods. They did erase the entire population of Kazakhstan so maybe it also broke strategic objectives.
what kind of mods are you using? Its like youre playing a good victoria 3 and I want that too
It's just the open beta patch for the game v1.2
Accepting cultures is the key to have the majority of people of your culture in non greek regions. In Vicky 3 people switch culture if they're not in a region homeland and their culture is not descriminated. So you need people to move in their province to become Greek
Omg ThatGuyFromCollege! This man loves his femboy viewers for sure! :3
As a byzaboo myself,
out of all games ive played, garry's mod has to be my favourite. this game is insane it has so much sandbox element to it and i really feel free to do whatever i want especially including the workshop. i love physgunning models and throwing them its so great
11:30 I think that’s less of combat not working, I actually really like that, it allows for you to win against outnumbered enemies. I don’t see why you’re comaplining, it’s really epic for roleplay too, like Thermopylae
that's stupid and makes no sense
Nothing like Russia and their obsession-I mean strategic necessity for a war water port.
Huh never knew college has a yt
Of course the Greek anthem mentions Austria instead of, I don't know, the Turks?
I have suggestion - What about trying Vic2 mods like DoD or Throne of Lorraine
Lore of I Tried to Form Byzantium in Victoria 3 but the Game Was Broken momentum 100
6:40 ...... sorry.... what?
Eesh, yeah the first release of the beta was a pass.
you should of done it as the ionian islands like me smh
completely forget they were a thing tbh, I didn't even know there was a decision to annex them till halfway through this campaign
Wait, it didn't have message settings?
Arabia when
WOOOOOOO
vicky 3 just needs better military and it'll be great. Right now it's just an unpolished turd.
Algorithm
w video
U couldn't annex egypt and turkey by forming byzantium?
Eco isn't fixed with 5b GDP as China capitalists making new investment but its isn't enought
I'm amazed that you're still able to make entertaining videos of Victoria 3 considering it's an absoulte mess of a game, and quite frankly a downgrade on the previous iteration.
heck yeah, i got the 69th like
first
TRY TO PLAY CALIFORNIA ...
This comment is to help College deal with the Algorithm 🥸
College should form Byzantium from the algorithm.
