In The Balkans, Protesters Fined Over Defacing War Criminal Memorials

- Decades after the Balkan wars, Serbia and Bosnia-Herzegovina are still home to public memorials honoring leaders convicted of war crimes, but it's the activists who protest against those displays who face repercussions. Bosnian law forbids the "glorification" of war criminals, but that is rarely enforced, and both countries are home to public plaques and murals honoring leaders convicted of war crimes.

Imagine Hitler’s memorial in Berlin. That’s the equivalent.

Blessed be your hands Elvis. Respects from Albania 🇦🇱 🇧🇦
I agree 100% with the defacing of this memorial. Obviously, those who put it their did so with intent. It certainly wasn't to endear the local population
Good for you these war criminals should never be held in awe . I was there and they were sweet talking criminals who led the country into hell.
the reason the pictures are still up is that there are people
in the government that STILL AGREE WITH HIM so sad
You are sad you allowed Europe to become Islamic
I talked with war survivors from Bosnia 🇧🇦 and even worked as a school assistant teacher with the children of the surviving children of that war. That's why I can definitely understand why they highly dislike Mladić and his friends. Rest in peace and power ❤
And why they dislike Bosnian Serb and other citizens of Bosnia of nonislamic fate? They failed in stealing Yugoslavia and Europe?
Those men were sentenced for war crimes, genocide and crimes against humanity by international tribunals and Serbia is erecting memorials to them? It should be sanctioned for that.

Thirty years ago. Hard to believe it’s been that long. Always seems like yesterday to me.
Looks like it’s premeditated and onraganized in whole Europe.
RFE, you needn't tell us in Europe how horrible Vučić's Serbia is; we have known this for years. Tell that to the apparently clueless US government. Serbia seems to be forgiven for everything and some in the US continue to push it into the European Union, where it has absolutely nothing to do.
Keep barking Kraut….
Brainrot comment. Europe is symbol of rape
Perpetuation of tragic criminal ideologies! bad evil ideas!)😮
I have Balkan DNA and some day would like to visit.

So what is your standpoint on Albanian Invasion to Balkans? Do you support Kosovo Invasion?
Do the Serbs know already what happens when NATO loses patience??
Nothing

Maybe you should take a tour to Belgrade, im confident Serbs will be eager to show you around
@@user-irj1nxa3cof2z The Serbian government and their loyalist followers have eagerly forgotten the attacks by Serbian forces on the United Nations Protection Force (UNPROFOR) and UN safe areas, from where they took UN soldiers hostages and gathered the people whom the UN were protecting for slaughter.
You seem to forget Operation Deliberate Force, wherein the United Nations, of which 184 countries are members of, all agreed to ask NATO for air support.
And I will remind you that this was the first time NATO forces had ever used air-to-ground attacks against anyone, and the first time the United Nations requested outside help.
The world, the United Nations, and 184 countries, lost patience. That's what happens when you keep UN soldiers hostage for years on end and film them handcuffed to telephone poles to sleep throughout the cold rainy nights.
The entire world agreed that Serbia's massacres had to be stopped by force, as words did not discourage them over the course of six years.
Serbs and Serbia never learn… Until is too late 🙃
Dude looks like a buff Zelensky even though Zelensky is French.
He is hero of christianity and democracy look at youw cities now 😂😂 what do you see? A Palestine ?
the question is who's runing the country now...if these things happen
