Are you sure you got Onn 4K pros? These are brand new and should be $50 each..I think the onn 4k (non-pro versions) are $20ish tho. I agree. Between Tubi, Philo, Pluto TV (and Google TV free channels now) you almost don't need cable lol.
If you want the remote to be able to turn on both your receiver and your TV you could make sure CEC is setup to do that. If you connect the Onn box to a receiver input and connect the Receiver output to the TV you could have both be turned on simultaneously.
I will have to give this a try. I can say, plugged directly in my TV the Chromecast with Google TV turns on the TV, but when on the receiver it didn't. I'll have to try it with the onn 4K pro.
Great video! I didn’t buy the pro but just the 4k box. And I setup with wifi through TV instead of the QR code because with the Google Home app, none of the choices for adding a new device would work and the box isn’t discoverable through Bluetooth. Biggest issue is no browser! Although it did let me add and update Chrome and Yahoo, it also said they’re incompatible with the device.
The default on remote buttons is cec…this then will control receiver, tv, and google with the power button…the menu allows you to select just one device if you don’t want it to control everything…
I want to get your take on the following discrepancy! The box outside for the 4K Pro says it has total of 32GB but the device settings when accessed shows 23GB total. Why?
Question: Are you able to control the volume of the built in speaker independently of the tv volume? I've had the Onn Pro for a few days. When my TV is off and I go to use the Google speaker, the volume is extremely loud. The only way I've been able to lower the volume of the speaker is to turn the volume of my tv all the way down before I turn it off.
I can say... I dont know how you can control the speaker volume. I dont recall a setting on the device or in the Google TV Settings. Im wondering if they didnt think of that lol, No touch controls on top either.
My surround sound controls everything. So I have an HDMI going from the surround sound to my TV. Then all of my devices plug into the surround sound and I just switch the input on the surround sound to change between the Onn, my Xbox, PlayStation, ECT.

Great review. I was watching another review from another channel, and he mentioned the Ethernet port on the Onn pro was only 10/100 not a full gig, so he plugged a dock into the USB 3.0 slot that had gig Ethernet, and now gets a gig - he showed us his before and after speed test too. I'm probably going to buy the Onn Pro Device, and plug in a dock for Ethernet. My ChromeCast just doesn't have the memory and the ChromeCast's USB-C slot is actually a USB 2.0 not 3.0, so I don't think it's worth plugging a dock into.

Getting mine tomorrow to replace my laggy ass 4k max gen 1 pure android google tv 12 great base storage plus a usb 3.0 port btw i've heard you can get gigabit ethernet with a usb 3.0 to ethernet dock
Yes, using the USB 3.0 port with a USB 3.0 'hub' (with 10/100/1000 Ethernet and spare USB ports) will get you past the ONN Pro box's own ’10/100’ Ethernet port limitation of 99-100 Mbps speed ... .... BUT, you won't get faster than '300-400 Mbps', as that is a limitation of the 'USB 3.0' port. But, that would be more than enough I'd say, right? *EDIT: I'm actually now not 100% sure about that 300-400 Mbps 'top end.' That might have been a limitation imposed when having to use the OTG adapter Y-cable. But since the 'ONN 4K Pro' has the direct USB 3.0 port, maybe a faster speed is obtainable? 🤷
But if you have to use a USB adapter then it's like a firestick with the same attachment for netowork gigabit speeds, pointless. Should of had gigabit port to start with.

Interesting on the audio supported, also think it's weird It will wake the TV to use the smart speaker. As for the Ethernet, 100mbps is more than enough for streaming a 4k video. I think a lot of streaming boxes cut that corner to save a little bit since the device won't really need a 1gb connection to stream any media.
On 4K streaming, not true...let me explain. I have a 72TB PLEX NAS Server. When streaming my raw 4k rips the Mbps on some movies will hit 98mbps & the stream will stutter aka buffer.
