Great video. I can’t wait to try it. I love using stamps and cancels in my art. I tried the thinning scissors you mentioned and that works great for diy stamp edges.
I love the idea of the using pinking shears in this way! Thank you so much for teaching this. I tried doing this on journal pages and they reminded me of childhood family photos from the 50’s. So cool another layer of history. You are AWESOME! With so much gratitude for sharing your breadth of knowledge🙏🏼
Hey Robyn, TY for another great video & project -tips 'n tricks. Love the scissored stamp edge! But the best part of this project is it provides me a perfectly reasonable (sane) justification for indulging my torturous need (illness!) to keep every *#!% scrap of paper!!! Love you, stay safe.
I loved the DIY Stamps, Robyn! They turned out beautifully! Thanks for the inspiration--makes me want to run and get out my paper scraps, stamps, and ink right now!
Thanks for sharing this video. I really loved it. I've seen several DIY faux post stamps but not like yours. I really like your style of art making even in you faux postage. They are like little pieces of art.
Robyn, this is intriguing, inspiring--as your videos always are! I'm going to join your Patreon. I love the stamps, especially the way you put the paper down on top of the stamp and press hard. Beautiful!
Wow! Just found your channel and am delighted to see someone else who appreciates Pumice Stone. It's one of my most favorite, most used inks. You've used it, and all the other colors to great effect here. This is true art: deliberate, intelligent, and above all, beautiful. Thrilled to have discovered your channel! ~ Lisa
Hi Robin, hair thinning shears are great for making the perforation. You can get the cheap ones at Sally's, or ask your hair stylist they may have old ones in their drawer.
I got some of those Fiskars scissors that are exactly like the edge of a stamp... so much fun! Love your stamps, can’t wait to try your method. Thanks for everything you share.
@@RobynMcClendon Yes! I got them on Amazon - had to buy a pack of four different edges, but less than $15 so worth it. But your "double pass" pinking shear method works nicely too - the first time I made stamps, I used pinking shears but just one pass and it's too big as you explained in your video. Thanks again Robyn! It was exciting to see you with Seth Apter, I was feeling pretty full of myself that I was already familiar with your work:-)
Robyn, do you have a video or will you please make one on how you do the scripting? I absolutely love it! I know you have a lot of experience with it and it’s not something one can learn overnight, but if you could create a video showing your technique with a printout of your unique, intuitive fonts/symbols, that would be so wonderful and very appreciated! :-)
This could not have been more timely for me Robyn... was organizing my left over papers today and thinking, what am I going to do with all these plain boring paper strips! Loved this video, out to play in my studio early tomorrow!
Morning, Robyn! Loved this! I found a box of letters my husband & I wrote to each other when we were dating (we will be married 49 years in Sept). All the envelopes were with the letters I'm going to use the stamps in a book I've decided to make for our 50th anniversary in 2021.
Another person uses a piece of plastic of a container and make a ruler ship one side with scissors like pointy for that affect ,they also sometimes they even get a plastic ruler and ship it and when you ripe it you get that affect too.
Robyn, did you do a video of a flip through of this completed book? I could not find one and I would love to see it once it has been covered from beginning to end. If you are ever at a loose end maybe you will consider it? Thanks for all your great content. I love your channel and love everything you make.
Love your art and love your videos. Thank you for all the inspiration. One question: Do the distress ink pads react to water? Do we need to seal them? Just wondering...
Crystal Lincoln Hi Crystal that has been a highly requested tutorial. I’ve planned a 2 part live online workshop for September I’ll be announcing it soon 😊💫
I tried to order the small, sable brush. Love it. His website wouldn't allow the choice of delivery to Canada! Really? Kind of silly, really. I'm just on Vancouver Island which is just a hop, skip and jump away! Drag.
I complained to UA-cam many times this past week. On some channels I regularly watch, there were as many as FIVE ads in the first 7 minutes! I was appalled! It was impossible to watch the content with the constant interruptions! UA-cam is completely out of control!
Yes Judy they truly are!!! But let the Creator know because many of them weren't aware that they're channels were opted in to the ads. It is a way to go in and opt out but it has to been done manually. You would be doing a service because so many don't know :)
333Judy333 I kinda feel the same way about Pinterest, every other pic is a promotional ad and as a super visual (right brain) person, I find it incredibly distracting. Regarding UA-cam, I was going to get the ad-free plan but I’ll be darned if I’m going to give them $30 a month!! I’d rather spend that on art & craft supplies.
@@KiwiJane1 Yes, it is annoying. We've joined since the beginning and it's really changed. We're probably spoiled now but this is why we stopped watching television and changed our lifestyle in the beginning!
Wow, Robyn.. re: YT taking channels off.. They better not do that! That's awful! I wonder if that is why YT started their own option for creators to have a "join" button where subscribers have to pay to watch some of their content? It sucks if it's a ban-width issue. That would be a shame if a lot of my favorite small, un-monetized craft & art creator channels were to go away. TFS
It really isn't fair, but because they are considered a privately owned business they can do what they want, just unfair! The platform was built on the backs of the small creative people that don't have a voice or money and they are the one's that will get booted off! So platforms like Patreon is fabulous for helping creatives that have built their businesses on YT to at least help compensate their gift of sharing.... Thanks Again Gail! xoxo
You’re a natural teacher and have a big heart. Thank you for your generosity!
You never cease to AMAZE me. How fun (and easy and clever and worthwhile and genius) is this!?! Thank you!! ❤️👏🏻🤗

Yes!! This is awesome! I love the iced spruce cancellations.

It generally is higher, I noticed it was a bit low this time too, not sure why, I'm sure it will be back to normal next week, prayerfully :) Thx!
The aluminum foil that you use in the kitchen
I've seen people using instead of the scissors they use the metal of the aluminum foil that ripe the paper to make that affect.
