I want to say a big thank you to all you guys who commented on what you would like to see more of in the videos! I really appreciate it and appreciate all of you for being here with me. I am going to start incorporating that stuff into the videos going forward. Cheers!!
You're my favorite to watch. Not just because we live within 7 hours' drive of each other. It's the fact that you have in you what I was like not even 8 years ago. You motivate me, you keep me lookin' forward to the morrow. That's sayin' a sh*t ton right thar. Thank you for keeping it real.
*Maybe it's because there is no snow in my country, so I like friends of nature who do adventure activities in the winter, I imagine what it's like to be cold*
Back to basics and terrific. I’m beginning to think that hammocks are the way to go particularly in the winter. Even if you forgot the light your packing skills are impressive. Nice going.
Thanks Drew! Yeah the only issue with them in the winter can be a cold breeze whipping around underneath you but as long as you have the right gear and temperature limitations it's a great option
Hey Rob - Amazing series of videos this past week or so. Enjoyed every one of them. Excellent quality and content. I would not change a thing. Snowing here in the Arizona desert. I am 50 miles north of the U.S./Mexico Border at about 3000 feet in elevation. In the foothills of 9158 foot Mt. Lemmon. We have 6 inches of snow this morning and it is still coming down. I have plenty of trees where you can hang your hammock, should you want to camp in the Arizona snow. Take Care - Stay Safe. Regards, Randy in Arizona
Hello Rob! You are a champion of the American forests, there is no doubt about that. I see that you like very well-done peppers LOL, don't you? Next time you can wrap them with aluminum foil. They don't roast so much. A hug, my friend.
Yes!! I found a real nice shed this year when out deer hunting and I want to go and scout some new areas when the snow melts and check out some south facing slopes
@@BrooksandBirches I love shed hunting found my biggest shed to date last week. South facing slopes great place to look. Also bucks love hemlocks check those out as well
Hi from Adelaide, Australia. Great video mate! Well done. It was 32 degrees celsius here today, quite warm, so seeing you camping in the snow was lovely to see ( made me feel a little less hot ). I personally like your commentary but I have to be happy with what I get 😊. Please keep 'em coming.
As always enjoyed the video... I just got back from a few days of winter camping. 3 feet of snow at 8000 feet so it was snowshoes to travel about otherwise post holing all the time. Winter camping is great! I have a Agawa folding saw too. I tested the Silky Big Boy this time. A great saw as well.
Sounds great! I must admit I'm not a big fan of snowshoes but I also think mine are a little too big and clunky for my needs. Silky do make some great saws! Have fun
It look like you're taking your sweet time to set everything up and I am cool with that lol. Oh and that joke, very funny... ha ha ha.... lol. Love the video.
Thanks for the idea! I mean I usually sleep fine these days. A tent is a bit rougher on the body than the hammock but for the most part my gear is pretty well suited to the environment these days
It's amazing experience for me to watch this video 🙏..coz in my place are tropical area, there is no snow in there, and watching this video is so Awesome 👍👍🙏☺
Hi Rob. Another great video and really enjoying your recent content. Lucky not to get harpooned there mate. Cutting that log in half and making two trips would be an easier option 😂 Those peppers though mate… Seriously, stand them on some foil and as soon as the eggs start to set, expose to the fire. Absolutely perfect steak cookery however. Best wishes from London 👍🏼
I had absolutely no idea i could put my solo stove directly on the snow like that!! That’s a game changer for sure! I guess i could have practiced that at home😁
Steak looked good. Have you thought about cooking it wrapped in foil to retain the moisture, and finish on the BBQ? Lindt chocolate is an excellent choice. Have you tried orange Toblerone? It's amazing!
I've never tried cooking a steak in foil to be honest. I guess that would be nice with some butter and rosemary in there too. Oops, now my mouth is watering!
@@BrooksandBirches Rosemary, cloves, and garlic with lamb, and a glug of red wine. I only suggested cooking it in foil so it doesn't dry out over your fire. Of course, you must always let meat rest before eating. Fillet works very well... 😉🇬🇧
Loving these snow camping videos Rob. Reminds me what I left behind 2 years ago when I left upstate NY and moved south. Winter time has always been my favorite time to camp, no bugs and no humidity - You can always add layers to stay warm in the winter, there's only so much you can take off in the summer. God bless man.
Thank you sir! I’m currently in the south right now to visit my son, my wife’s desperate to move down here but I’m just not ready. I do love it down here but I also love the snow and the mountains and the area we live in. Who knows though, I still need to check out the Appalachian region
@@BrooksandBirches That's where I'm at now, the Appalachian region. Nice down here but in my humble opinion not nearly as nice as the Adirondacks. If you ever make it to the Kentucky/Tennessee/Virginia region hit me up I'll share some prime camping & fishing spots I've found here.
Great trip again as always, tho the spear raining down was kinda creepy. Cat has 8 lives left. Haha! I have never used a hammock. I've made egg in an avocado but never a bell pepper. I would build a bigger fire and cook them over hot coals instead of open flames. I'll have to try the bell pepper, at home I think I would boil the pepper a bit first so it cooks quicker.
@@BrooksandBirches Oh yea its pretty good. Need large avocado and spoon a little bit out so the egg will fit. Then when its almost done you can add toppings if you'd like as well.
Beautiful country Rob. I have a question. Why don't more people carry cayenne pepper? Look into the uses. The powder is a very good coagulant , even for severe bleeding. There are many accounts of people using it to stop a heart attack (for real) and it is great to help with your core temperature. In my opinion everyone should add some to their carry. So many uses. Thanks for the upload bud.
I did not know that! I will have to start carrying some. I need one of those little glass vile sets for spices so I can carry some different spices with me
Be careful when hauling logs like that, don't want to pull your back in the woods! Most people cut it in quarters and haul it back like that vs trying to drag the whole tree up. Great video regardless of the fact!
Haha yeah I was just being lazy and didn't want to buck it up into more manageable pieces. Which is a dumb idea because like you say, a pulled muscle or strain would be no fun
