@@rj-zz8im no matter people’s politics we should all agree that polluting our environment sucks on multiple levels and the brown water problem is only one of them. Never understood why having a nice place to live in or clean water to drink or swim or fish in is a political issue. I certainly don’t toss my empty beer cans on the neighbors lawn or flush my sewage into their swimming pool.

Siesta Key ain’t no joke. I’ve been to several beaches all over The USA and the Caribbean and it’s by far the best. It’s famous for its sand which is claimed to be the purest in the world. It’s 99.9% quartz. It’s so white it doesn’t get hot and so fine it literally feels like you’re walking on baby powder.
The Gulf Coast of Florida in general has the best beaches in The USA.

I couldnt tell how far you were from the main public beach, or even turtle beach, but the public beach is amazing with how large and accomadating it is...just not when it comes to parking. The sand is what i really enjoy with it always feeling so cool to the touch. If you want great fishing, then you need to check out were i live, on the Cape Haze peninsula near Englewood, about 40 miles south of Sarasota. We host what is called "The Worlds Richest Tarpon Tournement" here every year in the Boca Grande Pass and on Gasparilla Island. This place is world renowned for its tarpon fishing, as well as all other salt water fishing. Maybe on your next drive by heading to the keys you guys can stop and check it out. Im happy our beaches here on the west coast have treated you well and hope your drive was uneventful. That warm water will be a major source of clean power in the future! They already have a pilot plant in Hawaii. If you have warm on the surface, and it's deep enough that's really cold at the bottom, you can derive energy from that. Google Makai Ocean Engineering, they're the ones who built it. I think we will see them on all the islands like Guam, Puerto Rico, US Virgin Islands. States along the Gulf of Mexico would also be a good use of it. 🙂

Yeah, Mississippi’s water doesn’t look to good because of the Mississippi River being practically the waste and mud filter of the country out into the gulf, plus all of Mississippi’s barrier islands keep the murky Mississippi gulf water from spreading out and situated all in our gulf between the mainland and the barrier islands.

I was blown away the 1st time I flew into FL, because as we banked over the water to line up on the runway, I couldn't have imagined that ocean water could be so clear to where you could see the bottom as far out as you could see. I was amazed, especially being that I grew up in a coastal state on the same ocean & you couldn't see the bottom by the time you were waste deep at the beach in NJ where I grew up. It was like night & day of difference...

Seeing the title and when the vid first queued, I knew immediately where you were. I was first introduced to Siesta Key in 1994 as my ex was from Sarasota. I absolutely love it there and that beach, I can tell you from personal experience, very cathartic when needed. Unfortunately, it was a gem only known to locals and a few visitors back in the day. Now, it's so overcrowded many days and even the Village is impossible to move through. That said, still one of my favorite places on the planet. Glad you were finally able to experience what is Siesta Key.

What to you mean you won't believe this is America? as a person who went on a lot of beaches in the United States for decades there are hundreds if not thousands of beaches just as nice as this and in my opinion some nicer. ❤🇺🇸🙏🏻✌🏻

Moved Gulfside 2 years ago. Best thing I've done in my whole life. More of a wade fisherman than a beach goer, but I love the water and being in the Sarasota area.

Oh, you guys would love the US (And British) Virgin Islands. I used to live in St. John on a mountaintop. On full moons, I could look into the deep waters of Coral Bay and see sharks swimming around. Amazingly clear water much, much clearer than Florida.
And always voted one of the best beaches in the WORLD is Megan's Bay, St. Thomas.

Yay!!! My hometown!!! I hope you liked the brief glimpse you had of Sarasota. The development is insane, but that's what you get, I guess, when you're a place people want to move to. I almost don't recognize it anymore. It used to be so sleepy. Oh well. Cheers!

Man, you need to try the East Coast of Florida.
Lake Worth Beach- anywhere from West Palm Beach, South wards. Of course, there's Miami Beaches and The Keys, as well. All GORGEOUS and clear. Lots more fish, as well, with the Gulfstream being so close, to the shore. Glad y'all had a great time!
