Thank you for sharing this. We are from Wisconsin, USA, and took our children to Alaska that summer as well and toured the Sound. This video brings back great memories. God's creation is glorious, isn't it?

I am sure it has been pointed out, but the Valdez was not in 1979, it was 1989 close to my golden birthday. Being a visitor up here in the Pacific Northwest I have watched all of your videos! They have inspired me and I recommend them to every yacht owner I meet!

I must say, I admire your eggs for taking that little plastic boat into all that ice.

Beautiful country visited in a skookum vessel which surely must have been most enjoyable... Well watched, calm winds and following seas... Pappy...

We departed Vnacouver Island on May 30th. On June 4th we were in Grenville channel one day south of Prince Rupert. We arrived in Juneau June 15th. If you want more details you can go to our website and click on Cruising on the top menu, then click on Tony's Adventures and read the top blog.

Thank you Sir. I am proud to say I shared the same waters with you even if only for a day or two while I was headed back south to Bellingham to meet up with my granddaughter there. I daparted Wrangell southbound on the 12th on the M/V Columbia and may have passed you at some point..

Tephodon - At very slow speeds I’m guessing it’s safe, they did seem to be almost coasting. But yes, I’d be nervous negotiating that passage!

I’d like to know how the devil you can slip through those ice laden waters without damaging the hull? One would think it could be a major issue.

May I ask as to what the dates were when you would have been between Vancouver and Juneau? It is possible I was on a boat that you passed
as I was there from June 4th until June 14th, 2013.
