Thanks so much for watching. Please remember to like 👍 and subscribe. Although this was very sad I did learn from the necropsy that this wasn't something that was going to affect the rest of my fish
😢 Oh no! I’m sorry, Chris! I know how much your fish mean to you. It’s terribly sad when we lose animals that we care for. I hope you get some comfort soon. 🙏🏽💚
Thanks so much my dear friend. It's always a good day when I hear from you I am disappointed but fine. It's like losing a harvest. I like my fish but love the hobby if that makes sense . Big 🤗..
@ not much you could do. It was a beauty! Things happen we have no control over. All Shubunkins should have someone like you to care for & oversee them!
Yes this is the hardest part of fish keeping. So sorry you lost a stunner of a fish. We all go through this if you keep fish. What makes it worse is not knowing why a fish died.
That sucks, she was a beautiful fish with lots of potential. You did the right thing to protect the other fish in the tank, not being certain what the issue was.
So sorry Chris!! I have been there more than once, I feel for you!😔 It’s so disheartening when you put in so much time and effort into raising fish. Take care my friend!🥰🎏
So very sorry for your loss of your prized fish😢 ive had fish in the past who had a problem with swimbladder only a couple , but it always ends the same with the passing of the fish. Never easy to accept, but we move on move forward and we never forget.
very sorry Chris.......it's good to know it wasn't a spreadable illness....we just had something hit our pond hard and we wiped it out thankfully before we lost anybody. Still don't know what it was....
So sorry my friend. Great idea to investigate for answers. I was always told that some get "Swim Bladder" no matter what you do, so I've always been under the impression that there's really nothing you can do. Clean water, and sinking food only keeps it at bay, if they are at that higher risk genetically. I'm sure you know more than I do, just letting you know, that's what I was told years ago. She was a beauty for sure, and it's definitely a hard loss. I'm so very sorry 😢
I have found that the ones that got it were around the 3-5.. usually nothing in between lol.. It sure can be frustrating.. and it's never the ugly ones.. 😞 Anyways ..move forward.. more room for a new up and coming?
Thank you for sharing this experience, Chris and I am very sorry about the loss of your beautiful shubinkin. I am glad for your strong message and you are so right. Sometimes in spite of every effort, it's just not enough. Heartbreaking but a part of life.
Sad news, I lost a few fancy goldfish to swim-bladder disease but no normal shaped ones. I didn't know that the normal shaped ones could also get it. Glad to know it was not something that might spread to your other fish. Keep on keeping on.
So sorry for your loss... I didn't know that normal shubunkin have swimmblader problems as well. I think it's what we feed. I buy mix food for them, mix it together and a lot of frosen food and don't have any problems with normal goldfish. I do ones in a year worms quarantine for al my fish for 6 hours with tremazol and it works very well.
SO sorry for your loss, Chris, very sad. I will watch the whole of your video when I’m over a triple loss of my own, but wanted to send commiserations ❤ btw I’m still nursing four weedy(by now) sprigs of watercress but it seems a hopeless exercise, maybe worth repeating come summer ?! God bless you 🙏✝️. ✌️🇷🇺☮️🇺🇦✌️. 🙋♀️🤍🇮🇱✌️
Hi Gaye. It's always a pleasure to hear from you and I look forward to your comments. Sorry to hear of your losses. What happened? Please update me on what's going on and also of the plant experiment
@ Ahh bless you 🤍 I have a new tank of 93litres(sorry!)ultra low tech with ten mountain minnows, seven peppered cories, snails and isopods n fancied some julii type cories. Talked it over with my lfs n we reckoned l could get away with it if l acclimatised them for AGES. Nope! Nearly an hour n when I netted them out of the bag they were barely breathing n hardly moved. Dead by morning. I feel terrible n so does the lfs, he tested my water sample
Apologies for this disjointed communication, keeps sending before I’m ready. No more new fish till New Year!! God’s richest blessings to you for Christmas and the coming year 🙏✝️
Sorry Stubbs 😞 it was a beautiful fish for sure. I have definitely been through similar, more times than I would like. It's definitely not my favorite part of fish keeping.
So sorry for your loss Chris, I had a few nice ones with that same problem die over the years and it was always fish kept indoor, I think they may have problems digesting the pelleted foods as they are so condensed and dry, I don't think it's caused from you top feeding because I only feed mine sinking foods and they got swim bladder anyway, I never had a fish that lived out in my pond all it's life get swim bladder disease.
That sucks, Chris! I hate to lose fish. It's never easy. I hope you're able to find a solution and be able to resolve it for the future. Curious - why epsom salts and not a pool salt or instant ocean or a typical quarium salt. I know epsom salts are magnesium sulfate. Is there something about the magnesium that's beneficial? Anyway, I'm sorry for the way things turned out. It's important to remember we move on. Happy Christmas, my friend! ~Ron
Great point Ron.. for some reason most goldfish keepers swear by it. I don't use is it. I use pickling salt as I don't want the magnesium. Magnesium is high dosages cause more issues Thanks pal

I know you have gone through similar. Frustrating to say the least.. the ugly ones are like cockroaches.. pretty ones like us.. well 😂
Sorry for your loss, Chris! Always hard when losing a pet. Very informative video, as well. 👍

I hated hitting like on this. I'm so very sorry to hear it. 😔 She was a really lovely fish. Looks like nothing you could've done. Take care, Chris. ❤

I heard that pre-soaking the pellets helps them digest it easier. I do not feed any dry foods to my goldfish.
Thanks so much for your kindness and great advice. I have soaked before using a probiotic. Might go back to that
I wish you a Merry Christmas my friend :)
Merry Christmas my friend
Dang this is a rough subject but it comes with the hobby unfortunately, it's all a learning process we all go through.
It's always a learning process. I always appreciate your support my friend
Fish do die. It is sad to lose them, but it happens to everyone. I am happy it will not affect your other fish.
Thanks Magnus.
I appreciate that
