As much as I love the original, this is one case where I find myself reaching for the flanker much more often. There's just something about that creamy iris and vanilla that touches my soul. I'm a guy that really loves floral tones - I'm a sucker for iris and rose so it probably shouldn't surprise me that I ended up liking this even more than the original. Still, though, there are those situations where the orginal just feels better.
Just when I got interested about Amouage Interlude and Interlude Black Iris, you drop this. Thank you! And I will wait for your Amouage Interlude review. (last week I was searching it on your chanel). All the best Marc.
10 / 10 review, you nailed it! This one actually turned out really interesting to me the more I wore it more interesting it became. On my skin turns out different just enough to fulfil it's purpose as flanker. Amouage 53 on the other hand for me is redundant.
Awesome! Thank you! I look forward to sniffing the 53 to see how redundant it is especially I usually blind buy these Amouage's so the sample will help.
At first I thought that this will be a money grabber, but I was curious about it, last year I find a bottle at a price I couldn’t resist, so I blind bought it and oh I was so wrong, it was instant love! I don’t find it redundant and I even used it in the summer, I don’t like rules, I wear my fragrances whenever I want,I love the original and I love this one, totally agree with you 10/10 it’s really intoxicating. Thanks for the review Mark!!!
I'm wearing this right now. First time was last week. I put on today for the 2nd time, I shared the scent with some fragheads at work & the liked the invictus victory sample more but I was wearing this (9am). It is now 10:30pm & I still smell on my shirt (WELL). I showered after the gym so all I smell is my collar. I'm putting this back on tomorrow. With my confidence & this different scent... I'm going to take over something 😂
Thank you for this review. I would like to try this fragrance at the earliest opportunity. I also want to thank you for your review of Chopard Black Incense Malaki. I decided to buy this great fragrance based on your review. At the moment, I'm looking forward to the new fragrance from the Malaki line, namely Cedar Malaki. I think this could be a very good fragrance, different from the current trend of sweet fragrances that are more unisex than masculine.
The OG Interlude is in my top 5 all time, it introduced me to Amouage. I don't wear it enough because my partner isn't a fan so I definitely need to try this one!
Great review. This release as drawn me into the brand more. Other than reflection man most of Amouage fragrances have scared me away with the dark resin, Oud notes. I would have and have never tried the original interlude. I love interlude black Iris, reflection 45 and some other recent ones like enclave.
I wasn't really looking forward this one, because if Amouage is starting to make flankers then something went wrong there. However, I'm glad to hear you really like it and they haven't ruined the scent. As owner of the original Interlude and few other bottles from this brand, I might give it a try and purchase sample.
You're right, there are those interlude owners who don't need this one. I find my bottle of interlude (purchased in 2019) to be a bit soft. It has good longevity (over 24 hours) but projection is perhaps moderate for the first 2 or 3 hours only. I only spray 2 sprays perhaps that is the reason? Anyways, I wouldn't want a weaker or more softened (w floral) interlude. I am however interested in the interlude 53.
Gonna have to agree. Like you said, I wouldn't be surprised if this is the fragrance that draws people into the brand. Apart from all the new tootie frootie coloured releases. 😄 Eeep. But if this came out back in 2015 when Interlude was gaining traction, people would've lost their minds. 😂 A perfect 10 from the godfather!! 👏
This offering was not created...it was conjured by some mystical force! lol I was and still am completely enamored by this fragrance. Ive always been a HUGE fan of the original....bold, different not so much inviting to the masses...my cup of tea! lol BI took all those elements put an inviting spin on it and said "you can come close, I won't bite, unless you ask me to"! lol I cant say its better or more dynamic than the OG. Its just another beautiful head on the "Interlude Hydra". lol Very curious to what you think of 53. As with the original, I love it. To my nose, it's the original but they refined it and filed down just a bit of the "screech" the OG had. Thanks for the vid brother. Enjoying the come back. One of the best noses in the spot.👍👍
@@robes08 No, but lately I go for fragrances that I can wear more often, Interlude just wasn't fit for me to wear even though I do enjoy scents that are special like TF Tobacco Oud or Andy Tower Air du Desert. Somehow Interlude didn't suit me.
Great review as always, I’m not a fan of the original but this one is great. The more I wear it the more I notice this leather note on it. Amazing perfume. 👍🏼
I don’t like Interlude, Interlude Black Iris, Epic, or Royal Tobacco. I am seriously doubting I will like anything from this house. I am still wanting to try Reflection, Boundless, Journey, Jubilation, Lyric, Meander, Search, Enclave, and Purpose.
You tried some heavy hitters tbh, you need to start slow into Amouage lol. Try the softer newer scents that are more mass pleasing. Interlude, Jubby, Memoir among others are beast to put hair on your chest.
I always liked the original and found it impossible to wear around, you know, people! 😀 In my mind, this could have been a scent that’s more wearable but yet still complex and moderately challenging. I feel like this is exactly what they achieved with this flanker. This is no Reflection Man still but very agreeable and at times likable (by others). I feel it has a watery aspect to it (violet leaf, I assume), less agonizingly herbal and the vanillic sweetness is a nice touch. I would not notice the iris here if I wasn’t into fragrances, so the name is a little off. Maybe, the Invisible Iris? 😃
Feeling like the odd man out here. Ive had this bottle for two years and just cant come to terms with it. There is a really annoying note that I cant stand. Been hoping that it is something I would grow into, but not so far.
Sadly, Black Iris outperforms the current batches of Interlude. I-53 is something totally different as far as smoothness, richness, and projection. It’s more “tamed” than Black Iris, but far from weak.

I would assume reaching out for this one more is because it's so much easier to wear and more geared your taste as you mentioned.

appreciate the comment! Hope this video helped on Black Iris. I really need to get on that Interlude review!
As always your reviews are amazing and descriptive; you never fail to refresh my love of fragrances. Thank you.
My pleasure! 🙏
Got around to sampling this today and came back to listen to your take....amazing fragrance, far more wearable than the OG, love it

@@robes08 It's very nice though I just didn't find use for it since I have original and black iris

no problem and yes no rules on wearing scents.
Great video and I enjoyed it and I like this fragrance I give it a 10 out of 10 in my opinion and have a blessed day
there he is!
I’m not a big fan of Iris in perfumery but this one is phenomenal…just an outstanding release 10/10!
Agreed!
Sounds very good man great take on this. I love my blue beast. I give this one a try for sure
sounds good!

no problem!

Interlude Black Iris is indeed a 10/10 fragrance and for me better than the original🔥
You aren't alone on that.
It's my favourite interlude
you aren't alone, many love this one.
The OG Interlude is in my top 5 all time, it introduced me to Amouage. I don't wear it enough because my partner isn't a fan so I definitely need to try this one!
lol
Please do, perhaps it will allow you to wear something you love that your partner may like as well.

Happy to hear that you have started to sniff the brand, don't give up on the big bold ones as your pallet may change with time.

I felt the same way when they introduced this one, I felt why flankers?
I've had my bottle almost 2 years (Magnetic top) and it's a compliment puller. 🔥❤🔥
Great to hear!

hopefully I'll have my samplin samples on it shortly. I have a sample of 53 somewhere in my fragrance room.
@@robes08 I'll be waiting for that one
I see similarities in note structure with bleu noir Parfum by narcisco rodriguez. But the amouage came out first
interesting, I don't own that NR may need to sniff it.

The Bopper has spoken!
Could you do a review of Boundless?
A sample is on my desk, it's close.
I had Interlude for a couple of years, I ended up selling it. I did not use it as much as I thought I would.
I tested Black Iris but didn't buy it.
both underwhelming?
@@robes08 No, but lately I go for fragrances that I can wear more often, Interlude just wasn't fit for me to wear even though I do enjoy scents that are special like TF Tobacco Oud or Andy Tower Air du Desert. Somehow Interlude didn't suit me.

The original is the best thanks for sharing
Thanks for listening
Amouage is the niche final boss ❤

This perfume is so addictive. I can’t stop sniffing my hands 😂
I’d also like to add that I’m a total beginner when it comes to fragrances and was surprised myself when I ended up loving such a polarising fragrance
Proud of you! lol

the invisible iris lol but so true.
best Amouage.
One of the best!

An improvement on perfection, IMO at least. So is R45 over Reflection Man.
I need to sniff that R45
You already bought this, didn’t you? 🤪😜
🤑😎
First try yes and no. Second,Oh yeah! People are not so pleased with the scent but I'm.
I'm also in! lol
Black iris hits better than interlude man less of what weird smell og interlude has
The og just hits differently. She's a beast.
I own and like it, but if I'm being honest, it feels like a dumbed-down version of the original. It has lost its teeth.
it did lose a little bite.
I prefer interlude than this.
The OG always will have a special place for me.
