I have the DDD in L4/L5 disc and L5/S1 disc. Plus Arthritis in L5/S1 area. And all my doc wants to do is hide pain, ESI's and Now Burn the Nerves to Facet joints.....Really need a new doc. Pain is still there.
If some one had an L4L5 Fusion from the back but it did not fuse or get enough bone growth so surgeon wants to do a revison but come in from the front, how will he remove the screws he put in the first time?
I had this surgery done in November 2017, I did get some relief but I started having abdominal pain in late March. After having a cat scan they discovered a hernia at the incision. I had to have the hernia repaired. I started to get increased back pain when I moved certain ways. After Two cat scans and a mri they show the screws are impeding the joint. So since the fusion is healed and the screws are causing pain they have to remove them. So that’s 3 surgeries in less than a year.
@Ruth detrick sorry to hear about that. I'm looking at my fourth back surgery in August in just a 1 year and 5 months. They have to do a anterior approach this time along with posterior. The last 3 surgeries were only posterior approaches. I'm nervous about this one!
Thanks for sharing this is good info!!
