- HELLO TANNERS!
I finally post my long-awaited Oxford interview video, and not be afraid!! It won't be like last time where I suddenly dipped from Politics Interview into more Uchicago content: I will be following this video with at least 7 more Oxford related videos, and so let me know in the comments what ABOUT my application process yall would like to know!!
I know it's a bit tricky especially since I'm a student at UChicago, but as someone who grew up with an international curriculum, Singaporean, and with one of my best friends at college being British, I feel like Oxford is an ever-present thing on my mind -- I want my channel to be the criss-cross point between UK and US, with additional features like my high school life sometimes resurfacing :))
I know it's a bit messy, but that's kind of an accurate picture of my life too!! More than anything (this is going to sound selfish but) this youtube channel is for me to document my own life and growth -- ideally I want to look back on this ten years from now and look (literally look) at how much I've grown!!
But what's making it super worth it is all of yall making a little community on here, asking and emailing me questions etc -- It's really made me see the positive parts of putting my life out here ♡
Sorry I've typed a bunch, I know this usually isn't my style, but this summer I've been meaning to focus more on youtube!!

Waooo, I have listened to several videos of Oxford Interviews and I have come to believe that the Oxford University is perhaps the place I should least think of. Since English is not my native language and still struggling with improving my English language, I just think that even if I can finally passed the English language requirement I would not be able to work all the processes out. Scary to the core. I am an Indonesian. Tips to be fluent in English please.

Late reply, but I suppose she might have been conflating monism with physicalism? Russell was not a physicalist, but was definitely a monist...

I do really appreciate your videos and I think they’re really helpful. I’m currently preparing for my PPE application at Oxford. But I have to admit that I’m actually getting really nervous especially because English is not my mother tongue😬 But apart from that I was wondering what made you go to UChicago and not to Oxford? (I’m just curious)
Penny Studix English does not have to be your mother tongue! But it would be naive to say that it doesn't matter at all -- it just makes it more of a journey/struggle for you, but honestly in my MUN experiences I usually find that a lot of chinese students from Guilin or Guanxi actually are better than some native english speakers in terms of their logic and critical thinking ability! English helps, but don't be discouraged!!
As for the second part -- i've been getting so many questions about it (I told myself I will make a super comprehensive video about it if I gain a few more followers) but essentially it came down to my major and career! I want to study something more like economics-finance-data science, and believed that UChicago might help me more! Ofc there are more reasons but that's my short version ☻ ☻

People can sense desperation and sadnesa from your smile and voice, maybe something wrong at school and academics?? U haven't been uploading videos in a while, are u feeling OK? Do u have any friends because of your identity?
