I feel like Melody's personality came through more than usual when reviewing this game. Having her comment on how much she enjoys deduction games kept me interested, and also gave me some perspective on the game. Someone who loves deduction games rates this a 6? That's useful info! I like getting to know the reviewer's tastes and gaming passions when they offer their opinion - it makes the video more interesting, IMO. Really enjoying the Double Trouble series; looking forward to seeing it evolve over time. Keep up the great work :D
I've played with 4 and we finished the games in around 30 minutes. The strategy goes beyond just trying to figure out who is who, but when to play which cards are in your hand, since most people deduce who is who by the end of the game. It has an extra layer I felt regarding "can you move players around, take the gems you need, without revealing too much information." In this regard its strategy comes across more challenging and enjoyable.
One of my kids got this for Christmas. We've had fun with it. It is a bit too easy to figure out who everyone is before the game ends, but it's a good game for teaching kids deduction, I think. I think you underestimate the value in moving the people around. There is some strategy there in moving the right people into position, not to solve who everyone else is, but to keep your own identity a secret, while collecting as many gems as possible. Both to make it harder to deduce when you take a gem, and to bluff by seeming you want a certain character in a certain position a little too much sending a red herring to the other players. I agree it's too easy for adult gamers, but a great family game, IMO.
Thanks for finally reviewing this :) I keep seeing it at Target for a good price, but I've never pulled the trigger on purchasing because I wasn't sure if it was any good. I'm glad to see my "suspicions" were true.

I like the Pink Panter aesthetic. Very fitting for a deduction game.
The box for this game is absurdly large. Almost like it was made with expansions in mind. It could be ¼ of the size.
Sounds like a re-imagined version of CLUE. I love CLUE.
Dzy it kinda is (I own it) Its just as fun

Nice review. I'm looking for a good deduction game, what's a good one for 6 players?
Mike Jones Mysterium
Mysterium for co-op-ness or Deception: Murder in Hong Kong for a logical + social deduction combination
Secret Hitler. The game is divided into 2 teams of Facists and Liberals. Very intense with alot of social deduction. Amazing game!!
I was wondering why that design company sounded familiar, so I checked BGG. They did Hogwarts Battle!
Don’t you finish the game when one set of gems runs out? You made it sound like you had to capture all
This reminds me of Exposed but I think Exposed plays better.
