- The K Swapped Honda aKty story begins as Ron sources the K20 or K24 for the heart of the little KEI Truck. Also Ron picks up a freshly powder coated set of Honda VX wheels for the aKty and compression checks the new engines. My jaw is on the floor. This is nuts, I love K swaps and love Actys. I gotta see this come to fruition and see what it involves. If it’s good, this is gonna be the move for my Acty one day.

I'm doing a k swap on my Subaru sambar. I already got the engine and trans out and sold. I'm at college ATM so now need to find time to buy an Acura TSX full car to do the swap.
Very nice. K24 is my engine of choice for this build. Gathering parts as we speak....
@@rhd_ron yea someone had already done the k20 swap on Honda kei truck already. Saw it on face book. The only difference is my sambar dosnt have leaf springs and the engine was originally in the rear.

A friend has a Honda Beat with a junked engine that’s not rebuildable, he’s thinking of either a B16 or k20 swap

Seriously, I think someone needs to do a deep dive on what newer acty parts can fit on the ha3 and ha4. Rear suspension is crazy on these acty and since they are both cv half shaft and leafs it's hard to lower without destroying ride.
I agree, I'd love to go to coil over strut and get rid of these leaf springs but what a chore that would be. Maybe one day....
@@rhd_ron ive been daydreaming about doing this swap for years now. Personally id try and use some sort of self contained assembly like in some ford focus.

Why didnt you do the k20/k24 hybrid? Is it because of the additional work required for the k24a2 block or what?
Eh, had to buy both engines as the guy wouldn't break up the set. I sold the K20 to a friend. So, building the K24 with an OEM refresh. 220+ whp will be plenty in the aKty! LOL
@RHD_Ron, where can I find a decent priced K20 or K24 in South or Central Florida? I feel like there is nothing available, despite everyone on UA-cam saying they’re abundant and affordable. Thanks
Hey Mike! Thanks for the comment. I bought these engines in GA from an individual. I've bought from a company called SunshineStateJDM in FL for low mileage engines in the past. They have a webpage and sell on eBay too. May want to check them out.👍
Bro this is what I wanted to see. I thought a rotary swap would be amazing but k swap way more reliable and just as fun
Ks are my specialty too. If we can get this puppy fitted, its all down hill from there. Going to be a blast.

These Beats, if they even had a D series would be wild. Once this Akty Truck Kswap is done, we will have to see if the Beat is capable of holding a K20.😍

Hey I like your videos man I just tuned into your channel and I’m new to it can you please let me know I have the same exact vehicle right now 1994 Honda A the truck mine‘s a four-wheel-drive five-speed I recently bought the truck and a month later the truck died out on me my brother told me with the tow strap and I try to jumpstart the truck one time next thing you know nothing happened I took it down to the shop they said that the timing belt was shredded and it has oil inside the distributor cap I went ahead and had them replace all that now the truck it’s park but it showing zero compression in the cylinder heads he’s thinking that the cylinder is no good the head I mean or the block is bad do you have any idea what this could be zero compression in the heads replace timing belt and distributor spark plugs the whole shebang if you have any info let me know ASAP Mahalo🤙🏼
Sorry to hear about all that! It sounds like you might have a bent valve that is not re-seating as it should. This could have leak by when trying to do a compression test. That is a common issue with interference engines with the timing belt breaks. So, unfortunately, you may need some internal engine work. I hope that’s not the case but all signs mentioned above point to that….
If you have a motor for the truck I would like to buy it ASAP
