Becoming Gardener - no dig vegetable garden with a tiny house

- Опубліковано 25 січ 2018
- After completing their studies in 2013, Robert Špiler and Tjaša Štruc, decided to build a little house on a forest clearing. In addition they established a food garden and at the age of 22 began to live their simple life, hand in hand with the Mother Nature.
They combine Tjaša’s academic knowledge (MA in Biology and Ecology) and Robert’s practical work in the gardens throughout Slovenia.

I pray that one day I find a partner who has the same passion like me to live with own produce working with nature..
Same thoughts I work in office but I m so close to the nature. This is really good life
likewise...
somi leisan right ???????? 😵 same !
@@yasafrahim3502 same here ..
@@yourbutler9988 I work in office but I am so close to the nature
I watched the whole video with a smile on my face. It's funny how this showed up for me in the UA-cam recommend videos. I'm a civil engineer as well, 26 years old as well and love to do gardening like you do. But, I'm still afraid of let all behind and follow that passion to a life dedicated to gardening, farming and living close to nature. Congratulations and best wishes!
:) The main thing is this: It's easier to change your lifestyle, when you don't have all the f*cking baggage on your shoulder. Mortgage, loans, family expectations, big bills to pay ... Best wishes to you too! :)
Wow, marry me..I love gardening too and will graduate frm my pilot training soon..😜
Come on let's do this! Haha good luck on everything and I hope you can finally do what you want to do in life!
@@leyah18 Tks !
@@daintyflygirl4va that escalated quickly
I left my 18 years of life in London to start foodforest in my parent Backyard in SE asia at age 37. Been 2 stress free years and don't missed the city life at all.
How did it go? :)
Good for U..we are doing the same ..in Thailand..
Good on you💞
Amazing
Dylan Dickson first year was hard but getting better every season now. 👍😊
They're happy, healthy, carefree, and it appears they have everything they need. If that's not success, I don't know what is.
@dasilverwelshman
Exactly! This is the real success in life.
Any other guys out there in their twenties who love gardening this much? xD
Me too.Im a doctor but gardening has become my favourite hobby and passion for me...
Then you two definitely should meet. :D
does early 30's and being a head chef (in addition to being an avid gardener) count?
Yes
#Farm to table #self sufficient
This is very inspiring. I also quit my job & now becoming gardener, I feel more alive and happy.
Amazing! :D
amazing! what do you grow and sell to make money? i want too!
I just quit my studies after 5 years and feel so relieved right now. I was also thinking gardener could be a good job for me. For now I have the opportunity to stay at the job I did beside my studies, and get a higher position even without a finished education! I will just see if this works out. I have my balcony garden as a counterpart and spend a lot of time in int. It just makes me feel so happy and alive. I'll see if there is a future for me at my current workplace, and I am satisfied with the work I will stay there. If not my plan is to start an education to become a gardener
I wish the best for all of you guys but watch out... gardening it's not a secure way out... it feels good and it's relaxing but it's unstable and sesonal work... this amount it's enough for cutting living expenses and share some vegetables with people but out of those 3 months of production (to make things simpler) you should make money to live for an entire year and covering expenses... i will not speak more... i just don't want you guys going bankrupt because of some feeling
@@anofritz some vegetables such as kangkung, spinach, etc. And some fruits such as chili, eggplant, corn, elai, banana etc. Everything that we can grow and people around us would need it.
I am one of those guys who waited 30 years to finally say 'i had enough of being part of the problem'. Robert you have shown great courage to make that decision early in life, and I encourage others not to make the mistake I made and wait, because it will never change no matter how many years go by. Live the life you want now!
Yes
I love your story.
I am surgeon living in australia I admired your braveness and courage to quit engineering job and become happy farmers. I wish I had gusts to do when I was younger. My dream is to become farmers like you in small land with positive people . Thank you for sharing your story.
The same here. Regards from Belgian.
Dude is living out the best life. Hope one day I live with my girl in a tiny house alongside a beautiful garden and feel proud to say 'I am gardener' when asked about my profession!
Absolutelyyyy! We gotta live his way of life. Fighting!
I think we should meet 😆
Shouldn't we! Lol!
I love the bravery he showed by leaving a career he trained years for because he didn't like it. If you're not enjoying your life, there's no need to wait decades to muster up the courage to change something.
I'm half a year into working after graduating with my civil engineering degree and this guy speaks to me on several levels.
Dakota Goodwin follow your heart 💚
I have a civil engineering friend who quit his job after a year and went on to a whole other different carreer. I never understood how he could spend 5 years studying the course only to go do something else. Until now, that is.
Someone posted on this comment I placed a year ago and I believe an update is in order. I just want to say that I did follow my heart. I changed careers, bought a house with one acre, recently built a chicken coop, and have planted 10 fruit trees and 12 berry bushes. I have a five-year Homesteading plan that I am now one year into and am on schedule to meet my goal.
@@dakotagoodwin3432 Wow that's awesome. I'm so happy for you. You're an inspiration. I just graduated civil engineering and learning that you chose to do what you really want means a lot to me.
More will be inspired
I like you garden🍒🥕🌶🍄
i am dreaming this kind of life
im an agriculture student here from the Philippines 🌻🌼🌷🌱🌲🌳🌴
Me tooo. I want to live sustainably. And i am from Philippines too!
Vi Baude sustainable yes but not rich unless you do blogging and host paid seminars on organic farming
This is the kind of living that I'm going to have one day. First and foremost I need land and believe me I have been looking for one. Wish me luck!
All the best you'll get it
Me too 👍👍
Goodluck
All the best, me too want same think in my future
Me too. Not easy, is it? Where are you looking for land?
It's good to see someone like you here, as a 26 year old heading the road in gardening and farming😊.. Hi 5!! I am a Chemical Engineer and also left that industry and took our farm when I was 25.
Civil engineer here, 29 doing the same. Looks like engineering is toxic industry for gardeners :-D
@@hanbanaroda i'm also in engineering major in architecture. i currently thinking to start gardening as a hobby, since my grandparents were also a farmer, i enjoyed the time when they fed me with their home grown corn and sweet potato.
imo, engineering major had the most stressful work field. when all the deadline and pressure to make the structure works or the construction will be safe or sometimes the overtime, etc, is too heavy to bear. a year just went by when a project ends.
I dont know why but im so happy. I understand the one week decision of him. He is just right with his feeling
The video encourages individuals to transform unused gardens into paradises, evokes memories of visiting grandparents, and evokes a heartfelt appreciation for fresh vegetables💕❤
Thank you! When you said, "living in a 17sq foot house, means not living in a 200sq foot house," that was so profound for me. I have been researching earthship homes and living from organic sustainable farming, and you have just sealed the deal for me! Thank you. Heloise - South Africa
What??? Graduated civil engineering and you chose to do gardening?? Hats off!
I love gardening too and im not even twenty..
A beautiful couple too!
I traveled to 58 countries world-wide due my job. I was born in german family that left Germany before the war and came to Brazil. And stood in the farm up to my 14 years. Than I went to the big city, made my studies, start travelling, etc. And what made this virus last year is to open the eys and see: I want to go back to the farm. So, last year I bought in South of Brazil a farm. Abandoned one. Start to clean, plantation of fruits and also some native trees, etc. Now, I can see with my eyes the first results and how I am happy. Than I ask me: why have I not done it before? Your garden is still a dream for me! But is in my project to do the same. In reality I started it, but now slowly, due this moment to much rainning and in a few months, will come winter. And winter here in this region is a little hard!
small, but quality, this is absolutely my dream.
You are very smart young man to know what you wanted to do early on.
I worked all kind of jobs just to support my child and myself. A few I liked, the rest not so much.
You have found joy in the life you've chosen. It means everything. Take care
ive done the same after being a truck driver for years and now being unable to work due to injury. Im now spending my days happy in nature in my garden learning how mother nature looks after herself if given the chance. Its very satisfying and humbling. and free
We moved into our home 15 years ago along with a quarter of an acre, and I'm doing the best that I can to get it garden ready my gol is to live off the garden as much as possible this is my dream come true, 😀🌼🥀🌷🌹🥰
There is nothing like a tiny home and property to have gardens....we loved ours back in the day... Now we garden in containers...tomatoes, peppers, also we have peach trees, fig, black berry , grapes, lemon tree in container that makes lemons... I love our small little garden...next spring come more gardening...
Your place is adorable... Enjoy !!!!!

What a great channel, good to see a young man with a passion for gardening. We definitely need more of you sir. Like you say, if we all grew our own produce then maybe our beautiful planet will last a heck of alot longer. Thanks. Liked shared and Subscribed.
5 mins is too short for this amazing beauty.
Ps. I want to send you postcards.
It's wonderful to see these
The editing makes it look so appealing. While it is rewarding....this doesn’t show the frustration, challenge, hard work, and struggles.
The reality of living off the land in harmony with earth is not exactly a party.
I am a hobbyst gardener and beekeeper, so much fun! :)
I love it. You are doing the right thing. Enjoy! 😍🐝🐛🦆🦉🥀
Well done, Robert. My good wishes are always with you.
