    One sissy bar doesn't make your bike a chopper.

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  10 місяців тому +10

      How about if I add some PBR stickers and one that says "if you can read this the b$@#&h fell off" will it be a chopper then?

    • @haxan6663
      @haxan6663 10 місяців тому +4

      Maybe a sissy bar doesn't make it a chopper but an altered frame i.e. chopped, kind of does?!

    what i like is to see previous owners allowing these great bikes to be passed on to somebody who cares to make the vehicle have another day in the sun..not allowing these bikes to rot away in some shed/barn or worse..everybody wins..previous owner gets $$ and the new guy gets to restore or fix to his hearts content..

    The most surprising thing about that bike is it still having the original exhausts on a chopper , that’s just weird!
    Totally agree with not changing it, it’s a part of motorcycling history, hardly any of these survive without being updated and this one is like a time capsule 👍

    • @BrickHouseBuilds
      @BrickHouseBuilds  10 місяців тому +2

      100% I'm very tempted to change the exhaust as I have a common chopper-esq setup that would look at home but to respect the original build I will keep these on it.

    Hello BJ I’ve been waiting on your next video and I can’t tell you how pleased I was to see what you’ve found. It’s like time travelling to my youth! Undoubtedly untouched, don’t change a thing BJ, you’ll never find another.
    I was an apprentice painter, in the U.K., at the time this bike was painted. I completed a bike tank, CB125 S in around 79 in Spendrift which is the same finish. Recently, I found this old tank on a shelf in my garage and brought it down and on a wet Sunday buffed up this old tank and I have it hanging in my bike shed as my own type of art! It looks cool, chips, scrapes and all. If I can figure a way to post you a photograph I will.
    Cheers BJ my friend thank you for making my day, regards Kevin.

    Love these build videos! Can't wait to see how this chopper comes along. As for the fuel disposal, our city yard will take almost anything automotive/household chemical related. Where AutoZone or O-Reilley would not take old anti-freeze my yard would. So try that route! BTW, you were so super cool helping out Motorcycle Rewind get his GPZ 1100 back on the road during his trip. Awesome!!!

    I would love to pick up an old japanese motorbike as a project but, here in the UK , people are asking really stupid money for bikes that are totally s***. I have walked away from so many old bikes that the owners valued at prices far in excess of what it would cost to get them roadworthy again. They can keep them till they rust away as far as I am concerned. It would be great if I could find just one seller who wants to pass on a bike that would be cherished and used after fixing up. Looking forward to seeing how you progress with the CB750 chopper.

    Picture a GT550 Suzuki with a 10" over front end and a sissy bar. I got the stock tubes and cables with it so I put it back to stock and sold the tubes to a (You guessed it) a CB750 rider I worked with, He took that thing everywhere. Pulled a small hand made trailer w\camper built in and painted to match. That was in 1976. Redoing the wires was a mess because whoever extended the loom cut them way too close to the connector and proceeded to wire it in one color. I used twist ties w\colors written on them with a pen to finally get it done.(After blowing the fuse 20 or so times.)Wonder how much he wanted for the 750F? Great find. Hope you have fun with it!

Specifically, I really like learning by watching troubleshooting and repair of systems, i.e., master/slave cylinder, carbs, electrical... essentially any problem encountered on an old bike and the thought process to overcome it. I like watching your fabrication videos as well. Go to your roots on the videos and post what you enjoy. Fix a fuel issue and then ride after? Post it! 5 min vid on bike night? Let's see it. Best of luck on Tangents, I'm going to check it out.

    i ended up getting a chopper sohc CB750 too, in pretty bad shape. Absolutely not my style, but it was the only way I could afford one, stock ones are really pricey here in the UK!
    I have returned mine to mostly stock, just with an aftermarket 4 into 1 pipe because the OEM replicas are waaay too much to justify for me.
    Not a restoration, I just got it into good running order to enjoy :) Good for you keeping yours stock though, I think it makes the most sense given you already have more standard ones available to you

    Glad your leaving it as is, when you say "6 over" in regards to the front end what do you mean exactly? 6 inches? 6 cm? just curious. I have some longer Honda fork tubes it would be handy to have a visual reference in case I used them for my own chopper build
    Almost 100K!!

      Yes the "over" is normally referred to in inches. I haven't measured but I assume 6 on this bike. So close my dude!

    Soak some chem-dip into tank let sit couple of hours then slosh around then empty into bucket. Might need to do several flushes. Filter the chem-dip with an old T-shirt. Throw clean rag in tank and blast around with air blower to pick up residue several times. Watch you eyes and skin, that stuff burns. If it's real dirty, throw a hand full of small brass nuts in the tank and lightly slosh around. Greetings from south Texas

    You would be Surprised how many people think that subscribing has a financial cost, it’s really worth pointing out that it’s completely free, I think UA-cam should have used the word “follow” or something like that, subscribe makes people think of magazine subscriptions that do have a cost, anyway do your videos the way you want, that’s why we all started watching you 👍👍
